Geographical Features of Eastern Argor

Map of Eastern Argor - (93 K)

Dragos Mountains

-----These old mountains border Altoria and Goria on the west. The mysteries these mountains have hidden over the years are too numerous to mention. Somewhere within lies the ancient ruined Lathanian City of Centuria destroyed by dragons long ago. Toward the northern end of the mountain chain is the Dwarven stronghold of Gimovnorfik. In contrast, in the southern part, is a hidden mystic city of Grey elves called Questria. Rumors abound about many caves and openings to the underground where dragons and other dangers dwell.

Forest of the Elves

-----To the west of the Dragos Mountains are many miles of forest areas. During the height of the Lathanian Empire, it was believed that the forest was almost destroyed by overuse. At the fall of the Empire, Elven and other fey races claimed the forest. It is believed that since that time, the woodlands have quickly recovered. Today, it is assumed that many sylvan and high Elven civilizations thrive there.

Lathanian Plains

-----South of Altoria are miles of plains that run south toward the Taranine Sea and west behind the mountains and beyond. It is said that as the Lathanian Empire came to an end, the Elven nations moved into the regions west of the Dragos Mountains. Today, there are many tribes of sylvan elves in the western and southern regions. Somewhere on the West Side of the mountains lies the old city of Aberus. This was, according to legend, the ancient capitol of the Lathanian Empire. Its present condition is unknown.
-----It is rumored that the number of human barbarian tribes west of the Dragos outnumbers the civilized settlements in eastern Argor.

Artanian Desert

-----South of the Artan River lies a great desert. The elves have seemed somewhat preoccupied with this region. Rumors are that undead creatures and monsters can be seen roaming the desert. Other legends indicate ancient ruins that date from an ancient civilization older than any presently known.

Abalona River Valley

-----This region is the farthest western region known today. Once assumed to have been part of the Lathanian Empire, little about this area is known today. It appears the easiest way to reach this region would be to travel up river from the Taranine Sea.

Drakus

-----Legends tell that across the A'Lantaen Sea lies a large continent where the great dragons live. Many stories of this place circulate amongst adventurers and wanderers hoping to find treasure.
