-----The quick one shakes his head, "Doesn’t matter. We have one of the crystals. We can either take the butcher’s daughter with us or find her another time. Do we really wish to face a troop on our own now?"
-----Anger builds in the jester’s face as he shakes his fists. He reaches out and pounds the castle wall with one hand. Finally he turns and says in a defeated fashion, "Let us ride out of here." The jester then whistles lowly, not very loud but just enough to get the attention of the two dark ones on the catwalk above them.
-----As the tattooed one leaves to mount up, the faceless one follows him hissing in the darkness of his cloak. The jester hesitates a moment and then bends down toward Kazel. A sly dangerous smile crosses his face as he looks into her eyes. "We part for now, my dear. But come along further on your journey. Pray, my dear girl, pray that you find your mother before we do." Oddly, the jester plants a kiss on Kazel’s forehead before he leaves.
-----Furious at the outcome of the battle, Sol glowers darkly at the retreating foes. Unfortunately that's about all he can do. The Gorian glances one more time at Sarah, before he turns an inquisitive look at Kazel.
-----Kazel waits until the jester is bending forward as much as he would then gives him a stunning headbutt aimed at the bridge of his nose. Her head connects with a resounding smack. Her hands then shoot up free from the bonds! With a quick move, she then immediately loops the free rope around the jester’s neck and strangles him, while trying to pull and wrestle him towards Sol.
-----The jester falls across Sol’s lap struggling against the pressure applied around his neck while Kazel holds on.
-----Kazel continues to tighten her hold as she tries to pin the jester to the ground. The jester however quickly gains his footing and struggles to his feet. He then manages a punch to Kazel’s stomach, but the half-elven girl holds on.
-----Tighter and tighter she squeezes as the evil one tries to rear back throwing Kazel off balance. She stays with him and manages another head butt to his face. The jester then raises his arms above Kazel’s and slams his fists around Kazel’s head. He hits her once and she hangs on. He hits her again and she begins to see stars. Her grip on the rope begins to loosen.
-----Suddenly with a triumphant thrust of his arms upward, the jester breaks free of Kazel’s hold as she sinks to one knee. The jester staggers backwards with a growing smirk on his face working his hands with the beginning of some spell.
-----Suddenly he stops as he backs into a shadowed form behind him. Turning to see who it is, the shadowed form swings out with his left arm missing the jester who sidesteps the punch. The jester looks with a shocked expression as he realizes the punching motion from his opponent was not meant to strike him as much as it was to back him up.
-----The light from the bonfire shines on the short sword in Raven’s right hand as he slams the weapon up to the hilt into the jester’s gut. "You must be one of those scum-sucking dark ones," the ranger growls into the painted face, "This is for my friends that you’ve attacked tonight." Raven violently pulls his sword out and the jester stumbles back against the wall.
-----Surprisingly, the evil one does not die although he is bleeding severely. A defiant look comes into his eyes and he quickly summons a magical energy into his hands. Within a few seconds, he points at Raven and releases two magic missiles. Raven takes the brunt of both and stands for a moment slightly shaken.
-----Raven shakes his head to clear it and then refocuses on the jester with an animalistic expression. Through gritted teeth, Raven says while raising both his swords, "This one, you bastard, is for me and all the children of the Great Hunter!" With that Raven leaps and thrusts down with both of his swords carving through the jester’s throat and face before he can take another breath. The evil one falls, his dead eyes staring up at the dark sky.
-----As Raven unties Sol, Rinda is already kneeling beside the delicate form of Sarah. "Sarah, can you hear me?" The huntress says holding the mage in her arms. She looks up with an urgent expression to Sol. "Sol, let me have your surcoat! We’ve got to keep her warm!"
-----Raven moves to steady Kazel and then looking toward the end of the stable, the hunter’s eyes widen, "What the hell is that?" he mutters. Coming from around the corner of the stable is a large foggy cloud.
-----"Did I get him?" Sarah mutters as she starts to come around. "Was he screaming when he died?" Slowly she opens her eyes, blinking a few times, trying to focus.
-----Sol quickly pulls off his surcoat, and throws it to Rinda. He then moves to stand next to Raven, whilst eyeing the cloud suspiciously, "Thanks Raven. Nice work on th' fool...Ye don't happen t'have a spare blade do ye? This mist is bound t'be another one o' their tricks."
