-----Before her, she sees a large room that looks like it once housed the temple guards. Around the room are scattered the ruined and ashen remains of what looks like bedding and furniture. The room remains dark with some of the windows shuttered and closed. Sunshine still shines outside two of the windows behind her.
-----It is then that Kazel sees it. On the far wall, across from her, Kazel sees a small form a little bigger than a human child. Next to one of the shadowed dark wall it stands, facing away from Kazel. The form seems to be wearing a robe with its hood drawn up over its head. The markings of the robe seem somehow familiar to Kazel. It reminds her of the blue robes of the mage priests. Strangely, though, the blue colors seem changed or maybe somehow perverted. The once blue color has been darkened to an almost smokey gray and the once silver trimmed sleeves are bleached white.
-----A slight shaking occurs around the form’s shoulders as if the person is sobbing, although Kazel hears no sound. Just then Kazel’s boot squeaks on the top rung of the ladder. Still invisible, she freezes.
-----The form standing by the wall likewise freezes and slowly turns. Its once living form appears to have been a human female with long hair. Now, just like the condition of its robe, the person has been horribly changed.
-----The smooth skin of the face is a very pale white. Its features slightly hint at the beauty of the woman in her living life. Kazel looks at its eyes and terror threatens to grip her. The eyes are simply not there, replaced by utter complete darkness in those sockets. The small womanly form glares hatefully at the open trapdoor and a fierce snarl crosses its face. It opens its mouth and just like the eyes, the mouth bears no teeth or tongue, revealing only complete blackness.
-----The thing appears not to sense the invisible rogue but nonetheless begins stalking toward the trapdoor opening.
-----Kazel quietly steps out of the path of the pale-faced hag, but still close enough to dive through the trapdoor in a hurry. She slowly bends and picks up a bit of debris and lightly tosses it at one of the open windows to make a noise over there. She makes sure that the projectile sails far away from the current straight line of sight of the thing as well as the sunlight from the windows, so as to hide its trajectory for as much time as possible.
-----The small piece makes a rap-rapping sound as it hits some exposed stone on the wall. The hideous figure stops and looks momentarily in the direction of the noise. It seems to freeze in its position for a long period of time.
-----Before she leaves, Kazel sees the decayed rotted frame of a ladder in the middle of the room that once led up to the top of the tower. Turning, Kazel quickly makes her way down the ladder again quietly still clutching the pig bladders.
-----At the bottom, the Dread Pirate slowly eases his cutlass from the sheath, holding it in his hand, but remaining where he is. He motions to Seth that he'll be the first up the ladder when the time comes, pointing to his boots and then the ladder, indicating that he can get up there to help a lot more quickly than the troubador. As he does this, he moves into position, preparing to just run straight up the ladder, counting on his newfound speed to carry him upwards without getting hit.
-----Just then Seth and the Dread Pirate notice a slight quivering in the ladder as if a person is on it either going up or down. The trapdoor at the top of the ladder remains open and suddenly at the bottom in front of Gimplefwick, Kazel reappears.
-----Seth quivers in fear, much as the ladder did. His eyes bulge as he asks Kazel, "Well?"
-----Kazel motions the others away from the ladder so she can whisper. "Um, I think our friend Ariella is now undead, and real ugly too. There's nothing else up there but bits of debris and a ladder leading up to the next level. I distracted her to look out the window but she could be heading at the trapdoor anytime now, so I say I go up and stick her before she knows what's happening, then you all come and give her the bum rush."
-----Kazel says as she quietly unsheathes her sword. "Anyway, I doubt these bladders will do much since she's got no eyes. Cork stoppers might work on the sockets, though."
-----The Dread Pirate makes a disgusted face and whispers, "Ewww, that's revolting. Guess we might as well leave the bladders down here then. I'll be up there right after ye stick her. Would've been nice if Zharta had told us there was a fourth floor. Be careful, whatever did this to her must be around here someplace."
-----Just then the four bodyguards appear out on the second story hallway behind Seth and the Dread Pirate.
