-----Gimplefwick vigorously massages his forehead as though this prolonged speech has given him a headache.
-----Sethanales realizing that what he may have said to Sarah Night in regards to the Dread Pirate may upset the Lord Chamberlain and so sets out to rectify it...
-----"My Lord Chamberlain, The Paladin Nylan Lotley, who is a paragon and indeed I suspect an Avatar of the Bright one, is known to us and indeed he upheld the Captain Wispybeard's honour on several occasions, at least before the Paladin came under his affliction. So I say to you, would a True Paladin consort with the likes of the Captain if he was indeed a Pirate in the true sense of the word? No I say he would not. What Paladin Lotley saw was a man who is a sailor, who is a leader of men. What he also saw was a crusader of the small, of the weak of the fiscally impaired!! Indeed this man is not so much a Pirate as a Privateer one who operates under no flag at the behest of his rulers.."
-----Now Seth stares the Lord Chamberlain in the eye. He reaches behind his back and draws his harp and begins to play music that creates a dramatic atmosphere.
-----"In fact my Lord Chamberlain is it not so that you are asking us all to act as privateers in this venture to bring low the scoundrel Krondor, and may I remind you that we only have your word he is a scoundrel. Where we go to find him he may be perceived as someone as esteemed as the Lord Chamberlain himself!!!"
-----Seth looks around at all present. "If you do not think you can trust us three then why did you even consider disturbing us? Both The Lady Kazel and myself have to arrange someone to look after our business. The Captain Wispybeard has to find a first mate he can trust to look after his boat! The Sun Lord himself requested our help. So I think the whole question about are we worthy enough to this job is not a question at all."
-----He motions to his two companions, "The question is one, will you dismiss us now and compensate us for our time wasted here this morning because of your inability to act on the Sun Lord's wishes? Or two, will you send us on this mission with due compensation?"
-----Seth waits for an answer before raising the issue of the compensation he is seeking.
-----Kazel steps off the bench as the impassioned pleas for honour echo in the hall. "What I meant by crusader, my Lord, is that Captain Wispybeard truly believes in fighting for what is right for him and exterminating evil as it manifests itself as those who dare to get in his way."
-----"My Lord, I can vouch for Captain Wispybeard and the revered Harper Sethanales myself, as the sole proprietor of the most respected name in the fresh meat and deli business of the entire West side, if not the town of Hearthorn itself. I'm sure you'll understand the grievous and horrific social disaster should the ravenous hunger for animal flesh goes unsatisfied for large parts of the town population. Shouldering this responsibility is no small task for an honest, ordinary, and underage citizen such as myself and I know many satisfied clients who will assure you of my honour and integrity and those of my comrades." At this Kazel thumps herself on the chest with a fist, looking all the more out of place as the slender girl continues her speech as if she is the Master of the Merchant Guild.
-----"Now surely my most esteemed Lord, you would not doubt the wisdom of the Sun Lord if in fact he chose us over all the knights, sorcerors and hunters of Altoria to take on this enormous task of the utmost importance, as you said, for the good of the entire kingdom? That would not only be injurious to the respect of the House of Healing light, but the stature and presence of our three brave heroes who had already saved Hearthorn once!" She spreads her arms in a flourish gesturing towards Raven, Sol and Sarah. As she finishes her speech, she settles back on the bench.
-----Then as an afterthought she adds, with a large smile, "But of course, we'll need to hear out this mission first, of course, before we can decide on proper compensation and coverage of expenses on this journey as promised..."
-----Returning his gaze to the Lord Chamberlain, Sol speaks carefully, "Um . . . I guess all of us here have killed for what we've thought were good reasons. I'm sure ye can count on all us for what lies ahead. Even the 'pirate'." He flashes Gimplefwick a grin, "I doubt we'd all be here otherwise. I'm also sure that compensation won't be needed. I didn't come here expecting any and I still don't." Almost like a reflex, he turns and looks expectantly at Raven.
-----As Seth speaks, Raven frowns as he tries to follow the man’s speech. The glassy look in his eyes tells everyone he failed. Raven opens his mouth to speak, but then Dread starts talking. Raven seems to follow what Dread is saying and nods in agreement as Dread finishes. Raven then turns toward Sol as he speaks.
