-----The soldier suddenly stops and its expression falls. It opens its mouth and works its jaw while the others fall back somewhat watching it. The hobgoblin suddenly throws off its leather cap revealing its ugly head. It hits at its ear with its free hand while its expression grows in anger. It then lowers its arm and its yell roars at Jyan.
-----“Enough?” the mage calmly asks while cocking his head at the soldier. Jyan then waves his hand in a dismissing manner and waits for the reaction.
-----The hobgoblin stands still and relaxes his sword arm. It continues to stand and blink as its fellow soldiers look from it to Jyan and back. It then grits its fangs and glares at Jyan, but otherwise does nothing.
-----Jyan then looks at a different hobgoblin, one who looks perhaps most threatened by the mage, and says, “You! Arrange about six of your soldiers to escort us to Morosh now!”
-----Immediately, this soldier yells for more guards standing close by to come forth.
-----Jyan leans in toward Sol and mutters, “My apologies, Commander. I’ve learned out on the plains that these hobgoblins have to be treated as brutally as they act.”
-----A few moments later, the ‘Commander’ and his small troop are escorted from the village gate along a trail road leading to the village square. Strolum, Pil and Dilton march along in front of Jyan keeping their shoulders hunched so as not to reveal their true nature.
-----Dilton looks around wide-eyed at what he sees. Small bonfires are lit at various places in the village especially along the road. A few hobgoblins are gathered by the fires while most of the goblinoid host marches along the road or are patrolling around certain buildings. Pil snarls which, actually though unintentional, seems quite in character for his disguise. Lovan mutters something under his breath, which could be a prayer as his eyes glance back and forth between the scene around them and the sky above.
-----Luckily, they see no signs of any humans, especially what could be dark riders as they reach the center of the village. Way off to the right is a large barn surrounded by humanoids. This could be where Whisper had figured the children were kept. Across the square loomed a large two story building which without a doubt is the Inn.
-----What they make for, however, is much closer. The six hobgoblins in front of them lead them to a large grassy space now filled with hobgoblin soldiers. A very large bonfire is set where larger hobgoblins wearing better armor stand and shout orders to smaller troops that report in from patrols.
-----One of these hobgoblins catches sight of the disguised adventurers being escorted in and stops the soldiers leading them. The ‘officer’ appears to be wearing sections of metal armor and carrying a large sword at its belt.
-----“OO DO YOU BRING?” The larger one asks. One of the escorting soldiers steps forward and speaks lowly. As the officer listens, his hateful eyes scan the adventurers, especially Sol and Jyan.
-----Finally, the hobgoblin officer grunts and nods. He then points the soldiers to large tents that are set up yards away from the bonfire.
-----In turn, one of the soldiers looks back at the adventurers and with a snarl it motions them to follow. Across the square they move and, shortly, they find themselves in front of a large tent guarded by two heavily armored and armed humanoids.
-----“Wait!” the hobgoblin soldier says to the riders, “I tell Morosh!” With that, he steps forward, but is stopped by the big guards. After a short word with them, one of the guards enters the tent and vicious growls are heard. It seems the ‘Commander and his troop’ are being announced!
-----A rumble emits from underneath his helm as Ulthang growls in impatience. Rigidly, he swings his leg around and back, dismounting from Thunder, his armour creaking and groaning, ending with a loud clang as his feet hit the ground. The Commander takes a couple of slow, ominous and measured steps so that the Gorian is standing just in front of his steed. A fierce scowl is plain to the guards in front of him as he folds his arms as he attempts to control his anger.
-----The lesser guards move more to the side as the Commander approaches. Scowls darken their faces though they glance cautiously out the side of their eyes as they wait. The huge goblinoid guarding the tent stares hatefully at Ulthang as it grips its spear tighter and twists the weapon so that its butt digs into the ground.
-----The tension is broken as the first guard reappears from the tent and points at Commander Ulthang. “MOROSH SEE YOU NOW!” He then holds the tent flap open for him to pass.
-----The disguised Gorian gestures sharply to Jyan and strides forward. Jyan holds his head up as he follows. Without incident, they both pass into the tent and the huge guard retakes his position. With a vicious growl, he dismisses the lesser soldiers who accompanied the adventurers into the village.
