-----"What are you finding in there?" She absently asks Sol, as she continues to sort through the papers.
-----Sol begins to throw a few soiled bits of 'fashionable' orc leather behind him, before pulling out a couple of pinkish potions and handing them over to Sarah. To Raven, he passes a small sack with what feels like a few stones in them. "Gems?" He guesses before returning to the chest and pulling out a smallish metallic box. He then tries to open the box.
-----The lid of the box opens easily to the Gorian and by the light of Lovan's torch, there is revealed at least a couple of hundred large coins within it. The coins are larger than the standard gold coins seen in Hearthorn although the coloration is different. They seem to be a bright silvery color.
-----"Hmm," the storm priest mutters with an impressed tone as he looks down at the box's contents.
-----"I think these are healing potions." Sarah says. "We should get one of these down to Garrison just in case." She says.
-----"Wow, that is a lot of money. We can definitely find some good use to put it to."
-----Sol shrugs, showing that he was hoping it was something other than coinage. "Let's move onto some other rooms." He suggests as he heads to the door, pausing only to hand the box over to Lovan.
-----Rinda holds on to the small bag that Sol handed out and the map that Sarah had. Raven continues to examine the bow. After a bit, the Hunter takes the map and looks it over.
-----"It'll probably take the rest of the day to see what other treasure is here," Lovan says absentmindedly.
-----"Well, let's get moving then." Sol calls over his shoulder as he walks out the door.
-----Sarah hurriedly gathers up all useful papers and follows Sol. "We can come back for the coins." She says.
-----Raven looks up from the map as Sol and Sarah start to leave. Raven says, "I'll hold on to the map for now. Let's search the orc bodies." As Raven leaves the room, he opens the small bag to take a look.
-----Before returning down stairs, the party continues on the hallway that leads further on the upper level. Through two doors on their right, they enter into a large room that looks as if it might have once been used by military commanders for planning campaigns. A large table takes up most of the room with an empty scroll case along one wall. A dark fireplace is located at the opposite end. Nothing of interest can be found here other than the evidence left behind of the orcs' occupation.
-----Further down the hall, another room is found that once housed probably another orcish leader. The bedding smells of humanoid and there are large eyes painted on the stones of the wall in something reddish. Curiously, other articles of leather clothing have been tossed about. On a small table in one corner stands a box about one hand length across and wide and half that in height. It has curious carvings in its dark wood and there is a strange smoky smell about it.
-----"Hah." Sol mutters to himself as he strides over to the box, slipping out the dagger from his boot as he reaches the corner. Once more, he carefully sets about opening the box away from him.
-----"Hmmmm," Sarah says carefully and steps out of the room. And out of the doorway, so that the wall is between herself and the box. "Umm...Sol, be careful." She calls out. She does not like the look of the eyes and the smell of smoke at all.
-----Seeing no lock on the box, Sol begins to edge his blade toward the lid to open it.
-----Watching Sarah retreat, Rinda suddenly grabs Raven and pulls him back from the corner where Sol works. Lovan still holds his torch, standing close to Sol so that the area is illuminated. Seeing the women react, the storm priest smiles and chuckles.
-----Just as Lovan starts to say something, Sol's dagger finds the lid and begins to pull it up. In the next moment, a small loud explosion occurs, filling the room with a bright flash and a scorching heat.
-----Smoke clears from the blast revealing Sol with a redden face with singed eyebrows and hair. His right hand that held the dagger has a small blister raising on it. Lovan nearly drops his torch as his face and hands are likewise scorched.
-----Rinda quickly runs to Sol first, raising him up to check his injuries. She starts wrapping his hand with a bandage. The Huntress then calls to the young mage. "Sarah, if you have any herbs left, dap a few on Sol's face." She then looks over at the Storm priest, telling him, "Stand still, Lovan. I'll tend to you in a moment."
-----Lovan continues to hold the torch with a dazed expression on his face.
-----The box sits on the table facing toward the corner wall. Black burn marks score the stones there. However, there do appear to be items within the box.
-----"Ow."
-----Pause.
