-----Raven ferociously takes down another crossbowman as the other archers turn this way and that with anger on their faces.
-----In his urgency to deal with the officer quickly, Sol quickly abandons skill for brutality. He delivers his next blow in a heavy downward swing at the beleaguered officer, finishing off with turning Thunder and trampling the man, whether he be alive or dead at the time. This effectively ends the officer's command!
-----Moving Thunder then was important for another reason, for Sol was now eyeing the fleeing cart, and had every intention of giving chase. As this happens, he gestures with his blade towards the villagers throwing rocks and call to his companions, "Once ye've downed yer opponent, aid who ye can, an' keep an eye out fer th' invisible caster." With that, the young warrior rides off after the packed slave wagon.
-----With twin blades swinging, Raven takes down two more archers, snarling at the remaining five about their fallen leader.
-----Whisper moves closer to Dilton's position and takes careful aim at the guard facing the warrior. As the guard lowers his shield, the elf plants an arrow into his forehead that takes the man from his horse and the living world. "Me thanks to ye!" Dilton says in his raspy, croaking voice as he recognizes where the arrow came from. The warrior smiles at Whisper as he turns to see where he can help.
-----"Drop your weapon!" Garrison warns as he faces a lesser officer, perhaps a sergeant of this troop. Being untouched so far in battle, the man looks about and it is uncertain whether he will heed the woodsman's command.
-----With a furious glare of frustration, Lovan holds his warhammer out toward his foe. Rather than using the weapon to inflict pain, however, the Storm Priest intones a divine favor from the Great Rager. The guard on horseback that he faces merely frowns back at him.
-----"He said, Drop yer weapon!" Pil yells at the sergeant that he and Garrison now face. The bronze-skinned man swings his sword close to the man. While missing, Pil hoped it would entice the man to surrender.
-----At the same time, Dilton rides off after Sol. Closer to the top of the hill where the center of the village would be located, the villagers now surround two of the wagons. The mob has turned angry as the drivers are pulled from the buckboards and those penned inside the wagons are set free. Two more wagons stand at the sides unattended, as no prisoners had been loaded in.
-----Amid cheers from some of the peasants, Sol rides Thunder after the fleeing wagon. The Gorian charges his mount down the incline of the hill with dust rising from a thin dirt road the wagon takes. Thunder quickly overtakes the wagon and pulls on up past the two horses leading it. With a fearful expression on the driver's face, Sol brings the wagon to a stop. The women and children in the back of the caged wagon cheer and shout as some of the men folk from the village run on foot to catch up with their loved ones. In a few moments, Dilton is there to help Sol deal with the driver who for now seems ready to surrender.
-----"If'n I be rememberin' rightly, Sol says there be a invisible caster rounds here!" Strolum says as he turns his horse and looks at the surroundings, chaotic they may now be. The red-headed warrior then spies a horse that seems riderless and rides over to it. He swings his sword over its saddle and seems satisfied that no one, seen or unseen, sits there.
-----Now it appears that the soldiers who are left, see no winning to this battle. However, they do not surrender. The crossbowmen soon fall to Raven, Whisper and Rinda as the Huntress had just led their prisoner back toward the fighting. Only two crossbowman are left alive though they are badly wounded.
-----Nine regulars of the troop attempt to flee the hill though they are quickly chased down by some of the villagers.
-----The unharmed sergeant soon surrenders being surrounded by Garrison, Strolum and Pil. Lovan's foe is soon screaming on the ground as his chain armor burns against his skin.
-----Sol and Dilton soon help bring the slave wagon back to the center of the village with only the driver now caged in the back. Many of the peasants now approach the adventurers offering their thanks.
-----One bearded man wearing the leather apron of a blacksmith greets Sol as he dismounts and asks, "Who is this that gallantly saves our people?"
-----Sol nods distractedly at the blacksmith, as he replies, "Sir, my name is Sol Herron. I'll have t'let my companions introduce themselves, as I fear we haven't finished here yet. Please excuse me. Raven!"
-----Sol leads Thunder over to where the riderless horse stands.
-----Carefully, the Gorian reaches into his pack and pulls out a looking glass and begins to scan the ground. "I don't think I'll have much luck wi' this." He says to the hunter, "Perhaps ye or th' wolf could pull th' bastard's scent off th' saddle or somesuch?"
-----"Just part of your punishment for not choosing to follow the ways of the Rager," Lovan says coldly to the soldier slowly being scalded in his armor.
-----The man continues to scream as he fights to remove his chain though he is foiled as his hands are burned.
-----Meanwhile Strolum watches Sol with interest. "I passed me sword over the man's beast jest t'make sure he wasn' sittin' on 'is horse," the warrior says.
