-----Finally a large crash heralds its arrival at the bottom drawing a wide satisfied smile from the huge mercenary. Meanwhile, Brandel and Runik stand over the large jars filled with copper and silver coins. "Do we want to split the coins up into our saddlebags or just leave this hidden someplace here?" the young man asks.
-----The Dread Pirate looks at the coins, "Well, let's just divvy 'em up real quick and throw 'em in the saddlebags. I'd hate to leave any loot behind. Who knows if we'll be comin back this way."
-----Dread grabs a couple large handfuls of the silver coins and dumps them in Joren's saddlebags. He then clambers into the saddle and prepares to ride.
-----Kazel mumbles, "Whatever happened to those clumsy human things. I thought we kept them." Shrugging, she then turns to the coins. "Treasure's meant to be spent, not buried. Only pirates do that, except you of course Dread." She picks up a couple of coins and starts to happily play tricks with them on her finger for a moment, before collecting and stuffing her share into her bag.
-----Seth does not help the cart get pushed into the hole. He watches and broods. He only brightens up when helping split up the coins. After a while he sighs, "Oh, I had hopes of carting back wonderful treasures and art works in that cart. I suppose I could buy a better one!"
-----He stops for a minute and calls Albert to him. "Does anyone have any scraps of food I could give Albert? I will send him off to watch for any flocks or birds moving behind us, especially birds with steel feathers riding fast birds with four legs!"
-----"Oh well, we could've just left the cart down there instead of smashing it up. There's bound to be better carts in the keep. Anyway, there is that sheep the ogre brought back. Unless he doesn't eat meat." Kazel looks a bit closer at the condition of the sheep for human and crow consumption using her butcherly wisdoms.
-----Seth shrugs and smiles at Kazel. "I guess I could have spoken up earlier. Anyway if they have tracked us this far they would know that the people who traded those horses took a cart. Better it is hidden." He then looks at the sheep and says, "Oh yes, sheep would be fine!"
-----Kazel expertly flips out her meat cleaver, grins a wide silly grin and sets to work cutting out some sheep filet. "No salt, too bad." Halfway through it though, she suddenly stops and muses. "Hey, you know... when we finally get to Krondor's place, I want to keep one alive this time. At least long enough to figure out why some folks keep trying to taunt me before being thrown onto spiked pits."
-----She continues to work as if in a trance mumbling, "maybe Woder will know," and then suddenly slams her cleaver down. "Speaking of treasure, what about that key Dalyor took? I'd hate to see him running off with untold treasures meant for our luxurious early retirement. It's all that horse thieving distracting us."
-----She then finishes up and before they leave, Kazel makes sure she hides the hole with the vines as they were.
-----The Dread Pirate looks momentarily confused, "I thought that key was to the evil wizard's room. And Seth got in there and found their spellbooks. Of course, I might be mistaken. I certainly didn't see Dalyor after he took off. I suppose we can always stop by there on our way back home."
-----Dread looks questioningly at Seth, as to whether or not he had seen Dalyor and if the key was to the wizard's room.
-----Kazel puts a finger to her temple trying to recall such an event. "Okay, if you say so. I can't remember ever seeing the key again after Dalyor took it." She then shrugs. "He didn't mention it when he got back to take us to Sol and his sideshow."
-----Seth nods, "That's right, it was the key to their door and we found three trapped chests. Our companions here helped me open them without setting off the trap. We found mainly spell books and some gold. I have handed out the gold.. I think I gave you yours, Kazel, outside the Temple of Ora's door. I think it was about 10 gold each."
-----Kazel finds the sheep a fairly fresh kill, so the meat that she prepares appears good for consuming. Soon she has enough mutton steaks to last for the next few days if everyone packs some of the meat. However, the meat is still caked with blood and a large reddish bit of it stains the ground in front of the hole.
-----"Ah!" Runik says with delight, "I be smellin' that muttin' toastin' on a open spit now!"
-----Albert stands on an ancient stone close to Seth, eyeing everything going on.
-----"Well let's keep moving," Kazel says. "Krord, let's cover this blood stain with a boulder or something."
-----The huge mercenary picks up a few large stones from the great pile of forgotten rocks by the opening in the ground. In a few moments, he sets a few down effectively covering the blood stained ground.
