-----Dread nods at Kazel's idea, "That's an excellent idea. I wonder if Sol's horse is battle trained. We could probably get even more for it, if it is."
-----Seth nods and then asks, "Is there anything else we need? So let me get this right I sell the horses and buy three more? Or do we go on foot from here?"
-----While people consider if they need anything from the village, Seth asks Kazel, "I would be honoured if you would accompany me, invisible of course - Just in case I get in trouble!"
-----The Dread Pirate shrugs, "May as well sell all three of our 'acquired' horses and get new, fairly untraceable ones. We should probably ride to the keep, it'll give us the opportunity to run away if things go awry."
-----"And besides we're supposed to get there quickly," Kazel says as she puts on the ring. "Let's go switch the horses and get on with it. Two horses and a pony right?"
-----Within moments, Seth switches appearances and a reasonable facsimile of the Gorian warrior stands in his place. With a nod toward his visible companions, the disguised Seth begins striding toward the farm.
-----Marast seems to look with concern as, beside Seth, traces of grass move revealing the motions of the invisible butcher.
-----"That be pruty interestin' magic," quips Runik. Tucking one thumb in his belt, the dwarf then adds, "I be wonderin' if'n we kin be borrowin' that magic to make Marast's face stop lookin' like me horse's rear end."
-----Marast continues to stare after the two departing rogues. "Next we in forest," Marast says calmly, "Marast remember to feed stupid dwarf to night beasts."
-----Krord lifts his eyebrows and looks down at Brandel with a questioning expression. The shorter human guard ignores the demi-humans and turns toward the Dread Pirate. "This area we used to patrol." Brandel says, "There are some people here that I am acquainted with, that is, unless they themselves have moved on. In the tavern, I am sure we will find people more hospitable than what we encountered at Navlot. Do you wish to enter within and ask about the area in general?"
-----Brandel motions toward the small drinking establishment.
-----The Dread Pirate glances at the tavern wistfully and replies, "Nar, we'd best not. Much as I'd like to get some recent news, our purpose here is to remain anonymous. That's why Seth is disguised and Kaz invisible, so that we remain incognito. Just in case our former friends traipse through here asking difficult questions. I'm sure they'd stop at the tavern if they come through here. I'd rather not leave a clearly visible mark for 'em to follow. However, perhaps you might go and gather information, I doubt that Sol or Raven has the wit to be lookin fer you."
-----"That would be good thinking," Brandel says nodding, "I think Krord should stay here with you. They might remember someone of his size."
-----The human guard then explains his plans to the bigger guard who silently but seemingly obediently listens. Brandel then walks across to the tavern and enters.
-----"D'ye think ye might be hearin' 'em callin' if'n he runs into trouble wit' them blasted ears o' yers?" Runik interrupts the silence with another question aimed at Marast. The elf simply lifts one eyebrow and glares at the dwarf as if it would be no problem.
-----Krord stares at the tavern as if waiting for some sign to move.
-----"Cap'n," Runik then asks the Dread Pirate, "once we be hittin' the river down south, ye be thinkin' o' travel by water? Ah kin do it, but I be not 'xactly keen to it."
-----Just then, some loud talking and shouting commences from inside the tavern.
-----The Dread Pirate grimaces at the tavern outburst of shouting. Turning to Runik, he says, "Shiver me timbers. Maybe ye'd best go check things out. Just peek in the window and wave back at us if everything is alright. If things have gone awry, then yell and we'll rush in and save Brandel."
-----Dread loosens a couple of his throwing knives, in preparation for trouble.
-----Marast grins and a chuckle escapes him as it is obvious that the dwarf would not be able to peer into the tavern windows. Nonetheless, Runik tightly grasps his warhammer and jogs over to the tavern. He hobbles up the steps and enters the place. A few seconds later, he sticks his head out the door and waves his arm indicating everything is okay. The dwarf then disappears back inside.
-----As the Dread Pirate waits with Marast and Krord, the loud excited talking continues from within.
-----The Dread Pirate glares at the sight of Runik retreating into the tavern and mutters, "Yes, that's exactly what I intended, go in and have a drink while we wait out here, not knowing what's going on."
-----Dread fumes quietly to himself for a moment, while he waits for Brandel and Runik to come back out with news.
