-----Seth looks at the man and stops playing his harp. He eyes the man drawing the sword and is not too worried as he knows he has four trusty body guards, the butcher of Hearthorn as well as the unpredictable Dread Pirate to back him up.
-----"Well! I am sorry to hear about your son. Perhaps if you tell us a little about his life, I could play a tune that would honour him and perhaps ease your pain at his passing..."
-----The man's chest heaves as if he is too overcome by emotion to answer. Tears begin to fill his eyes. He waves his arm at the rogues as if to dismiss them and hurries to the door.
-----The strong looking man with the sword stands and everyone can see he wears chain armor. He continues to stare at the rogues bringing an immediate reaction from Krord. The huge mercenary launches himself up out of his chair flexing both fists.
-----The man with the sword furrows his brow and says lowly, "Make merry while you can, fools. Soon we all shall be dead." He then sheathes his sword and walks out the door.
-----With a stunned look, Brandel quietly says as if thinking out loud, "What has become of my homeland?"
-----"Redmarsh," grunts the barkeep, "should 'a be giv'n o'er to Raven'old, I says!" He then falls quiet avoiding another glare from Marast.
-----"We should move soon," Abbar says with his eyes catching the dim light. "Perhaps later when the soldiers stop their patrol. There has been a curfew ordered and they may arrest anyone entering an empty building. They may think us looters." Abbar stops and looks at the trio and the mercenaries to see how they react.
-----The Dread Pirate glances after the chainmail wearing figure, "He seemed upset. I think he's upset about the wrong thing though. Instead of fighting us, perhaps he should have considered getting off his ass and waving that pigsticker at these plague bringers. But he sits in the tavern, drinks and feels sorry for himself. As far as I'm concerned he can take that longsword, put a light coat of oil on it and stick it up his ass. I have no regard for those that do nothing to help themselves and yet have the gall to carp at others. If he was capable enough to threaten us and wave a sword about, then the plague obviously hasn't rendered him too weak to fight. Pathetic."
-----Gimplefwick then says, "Yes, let's wait fer a bit, then go check on the locations you think best."
-----Seth shrugs his shoulders, sits down and begins strumming his harp again. He begins playing a discordant sad sounding piece but quickly changes back into the song about the halfling and the dragon.
-----"He does not know what we do," Abbar says to the Dread Pirate while watching the man in chain armor leave. "The soldiers would not believe me the night that Alum did not come back. Only in the last few days has the Knight left his castle to search for the source of the plague himself. He thinks that only by his own hand can he save the town." A weary smile crosses Abbar's face as he shakes his head.
-----As Seth continues to play, another patron gets up and leaves the tavern. The last customer seated at a nearby table is dressed in the everyday clothing of a town's tradesman. He lifts his mug and the smile on his face shows he enjoys what he hears. The man's facial features with a page boy cut of brownish hair seem unremarkable save for the open sore developing on his left cheek.
-----As Seth completes his song, the man lightly applauds and says, "Forgive me, friends! Times been hard n' I have no money or I'd be buyin' a round o' drinks. Maybe ye knows a tune to remember the glory what once was Redmarsh?"
-----The Dread Pirate eyes the man with the open sore on his face and summons up a weak grin in return. He then swallows hard and pushes away his ale, obviously deciding not to partake of anything this cursed town might offer.
-----"Perhaps we have already drawn attention to ourselves," Abbar says looking around uneasily although there are only the other two people in the tavern besides the rogues' party. "I can take all of you to where I have been staying these last few days. It is more private there. I can tell you more of these locations I suspect." Abbar's eyes scan across Kazel, Seth and the Dread Pirate to see what they wish to do.
-----Gimplefwick tersely nods at Abbar's suggestion and while getting up to follow him, whispers to Seth and Kazel, "I don't know why, but I don't trust this guy. His appearance is perhaps too fortuitous. Not to mention that he just happens to be a potion dealer and just happens to have two potions of undead control in a town where the undead are coincidentally supposed to rise. And just happens to be hanging around the keep looking for people. We'd best be on our toes."
-----The Dread Pirate loosens his cutlass in its sheath, readying it for a quick draw, in case Abbar leads them into a trap.
-----Outside the tavern, Abbar now leads everyone walking their horses north up the street along the town wall. In their direction lies the tower situated at the corner of the wall where the west curtain wall meets with the north wall. It is truly strange to see both the catwalk and the top of the tower vacant of any life except for birds, which fly about.
