-----Kazel's attack frees her and shatters the skeleton that grabbed her. Just as quickly another undead grabs her around her middle trying once again to pull her into the water.
-----Seth's bolt thuds into another skull knocking quite a few exposed teeth out. The small bits of bone litter the walkway.
-----Krord, in a somewhat berserk rage, nails the skeleton that Seth just hit. It falls back into the water, its bones slowly separating and drifting apart.
-----"Ye be hangin' in thar, lass!" Runik yells to Kazel as he does his best to run over to her. Hefting his weapon, he brings the head of the hammer down on the slimey skull shattering it. Its body begins to break apart although Kazel still has an animated arm around her waist.
-----Brandel, heeding the Dread Pirate's words, stumbles over to the halfling's pack. Straying too closely to the slowly dissolving skeletons, they both reach out and stab the young man, wounding him very badly. Now almost caked from head to toe in blood, the young man frantically rummages through the pack before he takes any more damage.
-----Caught up in his struggle with the essentially bodiless skeleton, the Dread Pirate pauses to wince at the sight of Brandel. Then, figuring that his current foe is mostly out of the fight, since it doesn't possess anything but arms and a head, Dread races over to fend off the two slowly dissolving skeletons attacking Brandel.
-----Seth, shocked at seeing Brandel's state, drops his bow after noting that Dread, Krord and Runik are more than a match for the remaining undead and quickly takes off his pack. He reaches in and locates the vial of pink liquid that the Priests in Oakwood gave them.
-----"Nevermind me, go help Brandel!" Kazel yells at Runik as she kicks the crumbling skeleton off her. She then turns and smashes at the remaining skeleton closest to her to clear the way for others.
-----Runik scrambles and dashes over with the Dread Pirate. The dwarf brings his hammer to bear on the least dissolved undead, but his hammer splashes in a puddle of skeleton goo. The Dread Pirate slices the last bit of the other skeleton in two sending its pieces into the water.
-----Meanwhile, Kazel pucks the bony arm from her tossing it against the tunnel wall where it falls into the sewer.
-----Runik is suddenly lifted away. Everyone relaxes somewhat when they see that the dwarf is lifted by Krord, who gently sets Runik down behind him. The huge mercenary then commences pounding on the final dissolving skeleton. With one fierce blow, Krord finishes the job amid a loud crushing of bones.
-----Kazel and Runik begin kicking the last four animated skulls into the water where their chattering begins to fade as they sink.
-----Brandel finally pulls the pinkish potion from Gimplefwick's pack and uncorks it. He then drinks it down and rests on the floor of the walkway. Breathing heavily from the effort, Brandel moves painfully as his bleeding slows somewhat. After a few moments, the young man still appears badly wounded.
-----Luckily all of the undead is dispatched although the walkway is litter with bones and parts of bones. The brownish water around them settles and dully reflects the torchlight.
-----Kazel hisses and motions for everyone to stop, as she listens intently for any approaching sounds. After a few moments, she sheaths her sword and walks over to Brandel to begin binding his wounds. Her own gash continues to bleed with each pulse, and she seems to be pale and quivering slightly. Only, it's clear on her face that she is actually livid with rage that is barely being suppressed. But not a word comes out of her as she silently works.
-----Everyone remains quiet while Kazel tends as much as she can to Brandel's wounds. Krord watches the half-elven girl as she works. After a while, Brandel stands still holding a bleeding bandage at his side.
-----Runik watches back down the tunnel alert for any kind of sound or motion coming from the dark. Finally, he turns satisfied that nothing is bearing down on their position. The dwarf then eyes the door behind Brandel motioning toward it as if to ask if they are going forward or going back down the tunnel.
-----Abbar steps forward quietly with his dark eyes picking up the pale light. "The undead seem to have been guarding this place. I would suggest going through the door," he says.
-----Seth collects his crossbow that he dropped and puts away the vial of liquid that does not appear to be needed now. He eyes Brandel and asks him, "Are you alright to continue or do you want to go back up to the warehouse and wait?"
-----Apparently restored to his somewhat normal self by the previous battle, the Dread Pirate mutters, "Maybe we'd best leave Brandel here as a rearguard. Krord can stay with him and keep an eye on him. But I don't think we should go back. It'd just mean trying this again later, and next time they'll know we were here and will be better prepared."
