-----Slipping a wary eye toward Amdracks, he adds, "Arr, course it seems like something strange happens every time a blasted wizard is around."
-----Seth smiles at the thought of Dread covered in cheese. He makes a mock effort of searching the room and then states, "No, no cheese in here!" but then he begins sniffing and then raises a finger in the air. "Although I can smell a faint odor of burnt cheese. You have taken a bath since that day, apart from the splash in the sewers?"
-----Kazel comes out slowly and temporarily loosens the wizard's gag. "Terribly sorry. Um, you were about to say what?" Kazel says in a low voice. "I do hope it's something useful."
-----The Dread Pirate shivers at the thought of the experience in the undead infested sewers. "I've had me fill of undead on this jaunt, although the explodin' kind did seem interestin'!"
-----"I just hope there be no chain rakin' ghosts about. I hear they be so scary they age a person." After pondering his words, the halfling pirate adds, "I don't know if the barmaids and other wenches would find me as attractive if me hair turned white." Gimplefwick then falls silent as his eyes dart around the massive shadows in the chamber.
-----Amdracks stretches his mouth as Kazel removes his gag. With a desperate tone the mage priest tells her, "Ora's magic can protect us here. Free me and I will show you how to repel the evil spirits here."
-----Kazel leans on Amdracks's shoulder asking skeptically. "What makes you think those are evil spirits?"
-----"Are you mad?" Amdracks says with wide eyes looking at the half-elven butcher. "Can you not feel the cold draft about? Did you not hear the noise near the wall? If that was a goblin or other living creature do you not think we would have seen it?"
-----The little girl hides behind Kazel hanging onto her vest, while she peers cautiously at the shadows around them.
-----"Arr," the Dread Pirate says, "Maybe there be something prowling about that may come back. We could be settin' some of our world famous wizard stomping traps!" The Dread Pirate then rubs his hands together and looks about for places and things to incorporate in the making of snares.
-----Kazel ponders Amdracks's words for a moment and then pats him on the head. "Hmm... no, I don't think we'd have seen, because it's dark out there. Nice try though."
-----She gives the wizard a few seconds to see if he has more convincing reasons to untie him, then re-gags him and starts to help the Pirate setting up the snares around possible entrances to the hall. After that is done, she patrols around the hall and exits for signs of disturbance, but within shouting distance of the rest of the group.
-----"No!" Amdracks protests, "I do not mean outside! The noise came from within this room! There are spirits or worse that roam this place. I feel it! Your traps will do no good! Free me and I can dispel them."
-----The Dread Pirate looks askance at Amdracks and then looks at Kazel. Runik curls his lips up disapprovingly and snarls, "Yer lyin'. Shut yer trap!"
-----Krord frowns and stares about the place while Brandel raises his eyebrows. The young mercenary then says, "We stayed here just two nights ago. There was no disturbance in the night other than the wolves that cried in the distance."
-----A strange look comes over the Dread Pirate suddenly and he steps up to talk quietly to Seth and Kazel. "I had to take down a few bandits that were holding this place. You don't suppose it could be their spirits walking about?" the halfling pirate whispers.
-----Kazel throws up her arms and says, "Ok ok, I understand what you're all saying now: let's all just get out of here now. We'll never get any sleep around here anyway." She rolls her eyes at Amdracks at that. "Unless there's a prize or discount for staying the night here?" She looks at everyone else for any objections.
-----The Dread Pirate looks suspiciously at Amdracks, then says, "Arrr, if'n these were evil vicious spirits, wouldn't they have done somethin a bit more substantial than just flit about. I mean, after all, if they are the spirits of those bandits, then I was the one who sent 'em on to their enlightened state o' being. I'd imagine they'd be a bit more upset with me than just lettin it go with some spooky shadows and flittin about."
-----Dread is quiet for a moment, then continues, "But maybe we'd best get outta here anyway. Why take chances?" Dread gathers his stuff and prepares to move away from the keep and set up camp outside.
-----Seth just shrugs, takes out his harp and sits with his back against the wall and idly plays some tunes he thinks his mother used to play him as a child when he was stressed and upset.
-----Everyone quickly grabs up their belongings and what food supplies they can get and head out of the keep. The wagon is loaded in due time as some in the party take to their horses. Just as the wagon pulls out of the gate with Brandel at the reins, Runik grunts, "Uhm, I don' want to be a'spendin' time in a castle with no spooks, but there better be no overgrown cornfields out here." The dwarf then flashes a knowing look at Seth and the Dread Pirate.
-----As the wagon rides across the grassy plain, to the north they can see about a half-mile away, the terrain features more scrub vegetation. The road that runs north toward the village of Grute also runs in that direction. Overhead, the stars shine out as a dull gibbous moon makes its appearance just over the eastern horizon.
-----Here, Brandel stops the wagon peering around in the dark. The wagon is now about one hundred yards to the north of the deserted castle. "Does this look to be a good spot to camp?" the mercenary asks as he looks at the three rogues.
-----Amdracks, fully bound and having endured some bouncing around in the wagon bed, simply rolls his eyes.
-----The Dread Pirate shrugs his shoulders, then glares at Amdracks, "Arrr, this be a fine spot. If anythin approaches durin the night, Amdracks'll let us know, since he's all attuned to the approach of evil spirits and all. That's a mighty handy trick, friend Amdracks. Ye'll have to teach it to me one o' these days."
-----The night then passes without incident as different combinations of the rogues and their bodyguards take turns at watches.
