-----When Sol follows up his attack, the enemy is ready for him. As Sol thrusts in toward him, the half-elf surprisingly leaps back avoiding the maneuver.
-----Luckily, Sol quickly parries a downward slash by raising his blade protecting his body.
-----"I fight to the death, fool!" the assassin spits at Sol, "Even if you slay me, Queen Lolth's army will find their way into this world!"
-----"They'll just have t'do it wi'out yer cursed help!" Sol yells back furiously as he continues his unrelenting attack on his slowly weakening foe. A backhanded slash is followed up by a rising blow to the half-elf's upper torso.
-----The half-elf now lunges in with an overhead strike which Sol quickly repels with a parry.
-----Suddenly the enemy reverses his swing and brings it around where it connects with the Gorian's upper thigh, injuring him there.
-----At the same time, Sol performs his backhanded slash across the assassin's belly. The Lathanian blade stabs in through the leather armor and the assassin is wounded. Still the half-elf keeps to his feet.
-----As Sol tries another rising blow, the assassin parries the attack and their swords clash loudly.
-----Using the momentum of pushing the two connected blades apart, Sol raises his sword overhead and delivers two crushing overhead blows, relying now more upon sheer ferocity than skill. The leg barely registers, except only to drive Sol further into seeing red.
-----The Lathanian blade rains down two devastating blows upon the assassin; striking him once on his left shoulder and once on his right collarbone. Staggering, the half-elf falls to one knee, where the pallor of his face looks critically pale and blood pours from his wounds about his head.
-----Disoriented, the assassin misses a jab at the Gorian before him. Bracing himself painfully, the opponent draws back and thrusts forward stabbing Sol in the abdomen. Though Sol feels hurt, he stays on his feet.
-----"Great Rager!" Sol yells at the top of his lungs, his call full of blood and feeling. Though he may not be standing after this conflict, he certainly wasn't going to show any sign of weakness in front of this one. The warrior's sword raises high as he gives his offering to Strator, then swings around in a wide arc, seeking the assassin's neck.
-----As Sol gives his battle cry, the assassin, breathing heavily, looks up at his opponent with a strange sneer on his face. Then, just as Sol swings his sword, the half-elf leaps up whereupon the Lathanian blade slices across the assassin's belly.
-----As more blood is spilled, Sol watches his foe go into a back flip landing on his hands before projecting himself off of the platform and into the dark shadows. Sol can hear him land softly on the stone floor although he cannot see him.
-----The torch remains burning at Sol's feet.
-----Sol grabs the torch and without forethought leaps after the wounded assassin, heading off the platform in the same bearing as the half-elf, so as to land as near as possible to him.
-----As Sol lands, he sees trails of blood leading off into the darkness of the room. He also hears slight shuffling and footsteps as his opponent attempts to move quietly.
-----Like a bloodhound, the Gorian immediately follows the trail of sound and vital fluid. Grimly Sol raises his sword as he prepares to finish the assassin, no quarter asked.
-----Holding the torch aloft in his other hand, Sol begins seeing the trail of blood circle back around him. Spinning, the young warrior sees his opponent sneaking up on him with his own weapon poised to strike. The assassin now looks to be near death though a hateful expression burns in his eyes.
-----Quickly Sol slashes across with his weapon ripping with great finality into the assassin's chest. The enemy's sword swings down missing the young warrior and falls with a clang to the stones. Sol feels the body of the assassin give and slide off his blade.
-----On his knees now, the half-elven assassin glares banefully at Sol wordlessly cursing him through a mouth filling with blood. He raises one arm toward Sol as if grabbing toward one of Sol's belt pouches. Suddenly, the evil one's body convulses and collapses to the floor never to rise again.
-----As Sol catches his own breath, his attention falls to the large stone portal in the wall. There, Sol sees a image of a large spider carved into the stone. At the end of each leg of the spider, a brilliant blue stone is set. All that is, save one. At the end of one of the topmost legs, an empty impression is seen as the stone that fits there is absent.
-----If this bastard was a representative of what lay beyond the spider portal, then Sol had little doubt that he would consider them lifelong enemies. Turning to the body that lay in front of him, the warrior raised his blade one final time, and without hesitation, separated the head from the half-elf's body. Some enemies deserved special attention and needed to be ensured they would not come back again.
