-----"Do ye have any good dreams?" Sol asks somewhat concerned. Quietly he declines being lead into the tent, explaining gently, "I, nor anyone else, will enter . . . As Veil has determined."
-----"Never." Sarah responds glumly to Sol's first question. When Sol says he won't come in she pauses and then decides she's too confused about too many things right now and not to press the point. She walks back to his side and sits down just inside the tent.
-----"So what have you been up to since we got back? Daddy's off turning the stone soldiers back to flesh."
-----Sol seems to brighten at the news of Zepharon's quest. He answers Sarah's question promptly, "Th' rest o' us caught up at th' local tavern. Met th' local Lord Marshall an' got told that th' Lady Evalyn wants t'meet us. In fact she sounds pretty eager about it."
-----Looking back at the mage, he smiles slightly and adds, "We'll be alright."
-----Over a half-hour later, Veil is seen returning to the encampment. The diviner walks briskly across the grassy patches between the rustic buildings. Her violet robes swish along with the determined stride in her movement. Her fists are revealed to be clinched where they appear as the long sleeves of her robe ride slightly up.
-----When she reaches the tent, she is heard to sigh heavily as she pauses. Before reaching for the tent's flap, she turns to Sol still standing guard outside the structure.
-----"Forgive me, Sol Herron," she says apologetically, her voice slightly shaking, "I thank you for your faithful watch over my daughter while I was away."
-----Patting his shoulder with one hand, Veil requests, "If there could be one more thing you could do for us, please find someone among Lord Howrun's men to guard this tent."
-----Veil then slips inside the tent.
-----"O' course." Sol agrees assertively, though he still appears confused over the recent turn of events. Striding through the field, the Gorian heads towards the cluster of tents set up for Lord Howrun's troop. Upon reaching there, he asks the closest guard if he could please be shown to either Roderon or Mulador.
-----Roderon suddenly comes around the corner of the tents just as Sol inquires of his whereabouts. His blond hair shines brightly in the noontime sun though a look of concern darkens his face as he sees the young warrior.
-----"Sol," he asks on approach, "did you get to eat? Is everything all right?"
-----"We did eat, an' a good meal it was." Sol affirms though he shakes his head at the last question, and answers softly, "I think something may be awry. Could ye place one o' yer men as a guard at Veil's tent? She requested Lord Howrun's men specifically . . . I believe there may be some issue with th' Lady Evalyn, but I've yet t'find out what. I was going t'ask Veil after making this request."
-----Sol casts a concerned glance back out over the town before saying to Roderon, "I don't feel quite right about this. Do ye wish t'come back wi' me, an' we'll find out what Veil's concerns are?"
-----"Of course," Roderon answers and he quickly gives a whistle. In the next moment, he is joined by those Sol has seen before in the ranger's company, the ranger Sula and the elven warrior Mulador.
-----They purposely accompany Sol back in front of the mages' tent where the others including the hunters, the guards from Oakwood, Garrison and Lovan wait.
-----"Veil." Sol calls respectfully from the front of the tent, "I've come wi' Roderon, Mulador and Sula, Lord Howrun's closest aides. We'd appreciate knowing what exactly is going on here. Could ye tell us?"
-----"Thank you, Sol," the diviner firmly answers, "I cannot say more at least until Zepharon arrives."
-----Seeing no one coming out of the tent, Romney frowns. However, the guard from Oakwood looks at his two fellow guards and says, "We will take up the watch here."
-----Not really knowing what else to do, Sarah reverts to an old habit from her childhood. Still sitting very close to her mother she starts to take down Veil's hair and her fingers quickly begin to braid it into an elaborate style, like the two of them used to do sometimes when Sarah was younger. She hopes the therapeutic benefits of this might calm her mother down a little.
-----Still outside, Sol manages to keep composed, though he is impatient to say the least. Not knowing a potential threat, and having to wait to find out what it is, was a form of torture for the Gorian swordsmen. He throws an apologetic look to the three men of Howrun, and a grateful one at the men of Oakwood, before proceeding to wait, his hand never far from his sword hilt.
-----After the better part of an hour, those outside the mages' tent maintain a watchful calm, their talk kept quiet. Suddenly a tingling is felt in the air and those by the tent clear an area where blue motes have begun to materialize in the air. A quivering vertical column of azure smoke arises from the ground amongst the twinkling orbs. In the next instant, a blue cloak and a matching hat appear and as the magical effects clear, the Lord Wizard stands among the adventurers once again.
