-----Garrison closes the last of the blinds and turns saying, "I don't see why that wouldn't work, if the assassin's coming after us tonight."
-----"I say we grab him and haul him out in the rain before he knows what hit him," Lovan says smiling widely while jostling Raven's arm.
-----Rinda says, momentarily focusing on the candle, "We set the trap for our prey and still we have Mirian safe. This sounds good." Looking at Raven, she adds, "Whoever finds the prey should yell so the others can come help."
-----Sarah puts her arm through Sol's and leans her shoulder on his head. "You know dear, if I was trying to kill someone I'd torch the entire room. So maybe you shouldn't be under the bed?"
-----Sol smiles at Sarah and answers simply, "Perhaps, but th' mess at Frederik's place only strengthens my belief that he's after something. Perhaps even th' gem I was given. Either way..."
-----Sol looks over at Garrison and also replies to his comment, "I'd be surprised if he didn't try again tonight. As long as all th' attacks are connected, there have been three today alone. With that fact an' th' complete wrecking of Frederik's, it all reeks of desperation. If so, that'll also be th' assassin's downfall...in us."
-----Raven nods, "Sounds like a straight forward plan. I like it." Raven glances outside, "I might like to have someone down on the first floor. So if the murderer runs we could then cut 'em off." Raven turns to Sol, "I know a good spot outside where I could hide my self. I'd have a good view of this window and that way if he gets spooked I might see him as he tried to leave."
-----Rinda looks at Raven and says, "The wolf. Your wolf could hide with you, Raven. Could he not help you stop this killer until the rest of us are there?"
-----The huntress then looks at Sarah and asks, "Would Chessie be able to watch over our room from the outside if the killer decides to come to us or to where Sol is?"
-----Raven nods and smiles, "Of course, I forgot to mention the wolf. Thank you my love."
-----"Are we about finished?" Lovan interrupts, as he begins to pace, "The Rager's Fury needs no thought, just a place or thing to set its storms against."
-----This brings a frown from Romney and another quiet giggle from Garrison.
-----"Alright then, we'll go with th' updated plan. Sarah, Rinda an' Mirian, ye may as well stay here fer th' meanwhile. Raven, slip out th' inn an' take position where ye think best. I'll head int' Mirian's room an' find th' best place t'wait. Lovan grab any pillows from yer room an' meet me there. Actually, Garrison, do th' same...we may need more pillows. Romney, keep guard on this room here." As Sol finishes his direction, he kisses Sarah on the cheek and heads out towards Mirian's room.
-----Raven nods and then kisses Rinda as he leaves the room.
-----Sol dashes out of his room as the other men go about in different directions. He crosses over to the landing that features stairs up to the next level. All around the canopy of the large tree an almost solid wall of water seems to fall and Sol marvels at the weather.
-----The young warrior carefully climbs to the next level and sees the village below and behind him lit by candles and fireplaces twinkling through windows. A few of the boards beneath him creak as he continues to climb and Sol focuses on the landing that he approaches.
-----Just as he tops the stairs, his eyes find the room that Mirian stays in. No sound seems to come from any of the other rooms; any attempt to listen proven moot by the roaring precipitation.
-----As he takes two steps toward the door, his thoughts are suddenly interrupted by a voice somewhere over his shoulders. "Freeze," the voice says with a whispering menacing quality that threatens to send a chill down the Gorian's spine. "One word or movement from you and I shoot an arrow through your throat. By the time your friends find you, you will have choked on your own blood and they will be walking into a trap. I am most deadly at point blank range. I can then promise you, your women will die."
-----In the next breath, the voice continues, "You've got what I want. Put the stone on the flooring, don't say a word and walk up to the next level. Do it now!" The last word is accompanied by a forceful hiss.
-----Right up until the point where he threatened the women's life, Sol had actually been listening to the man's words. As soon as the words 'your women will die' left the assassin's mouth a blinding flare of rage seered through the Gorian's thoughts.
-----As the man demanded Sol drop the stone, the Gorian dimly recognizes the fact that it will just be a matter of who's faster. In one smooth action, Sol spins, crouching as he does so and using his buckled legs to provide all the power he needs as he launches himself at the man, fully intending to crash tackle the man, yelling a cry of fury as he does so.
