-----Oddly, besides himself, Sol notices Rinda and Mirian appear to be unaffected by the intrusion of the "lizard people" other than preparing for the encounter. The dancer has a strangely angry expression on her face.
-----The next answer comes from the creatures themselves as all three hurl their weapons at the adventurers' party.
-----A javelin flies straight at the huntress's head, who moves just enough to avoid a tragic end. The weapon does catch Rinda as it grazes her left shoulder badly scratching her.
-----Another streaks at Romney ripping across a muscle on his left arm and forcing a pained gasp from the guardsman.
-----The third javelin finds Lovan, still trying to balance his torch, weapon and himself, an easy target. The point of the weapon makes for the storm priest's belly. As Lovan is still unsteady, the weapon strikes him in his right hip. His scale mail saves him from too bad of an injury although Lovan loses his balance and falls to the floor.
-----"Fear th' wrath o' th' Rager!" Sol calls angrily as he charges the lizard-like creatures. He has no idea why everyone around him has weakened, but these creatures must be responsible somehow. He brings his Lathanian blade through with an overhead swing against the lead troglodyte.
-----"Ugh." Sarah groans as she feels the weakening nausea spread through her. She was going to fireball the first thing she saw, but the sickness threw her off balance and she doesn't really want to waste a fireball spell on three smelly lizards. "All yours." She mutters as she leans against the wall of the hallway and tries to take even breathes.
-----Sol quickly meets the closest creature and slices his sword across its scaly chest. The weapon bites deeply, badly wounding the troglodyte.
-----At the same time, Raven rushes another of the lizard headed monsters before it can draw forth a second javelin weapon. Even in his weakened condition, the hunter stabs one of his short sword forcefully into his opponent, critically wounding it. Drawing his other hand across, Raven then slices with his other sword opening a wide gash in the monster's throat. It quickly collapses and thrashes about on the floor as it dies.
-----Sol redoubles his attack but his foe anticipates his move. Just as Sol attempts a back thrust, the trog ducks under his blade.
-----Seeing another creature standing just to his left, Raven strikes out with his sword stabbing it in the gut causing it to double over in pain.
-----Just then Garrison brings his battleaxe to bear upon the same creature's shoulder. The monster then clings on to its javelin as it barely remains standing.
-----The two monsters left standing try to score a hit on Sol and Raven, but they miss as their thrusts are very weak.
-----The nimble warrior redoubles his efforts to finish the scaled humanoid. Turning his sidestep of his opponent's javelin into a spin, Sol lets the motion of his body power his next swing, which comes in low towards the troglodyte's lower torso.
-----Sarah keeps leaning against the wall watching the fight. She figured it would be over rather quick. She's yet to see three monsters that can hold off Sol and Raven for long. She tries to catch her breath and shake off the weakening effects of the trogs' stench.
-----The fight quickly comes to an end with Sol disemboweling the troglodyte facing him and Raven ramming his short sword up through the last monster's bottom jaw.
-----With the silence returning around them in the dark steamy chamber, most in the party pause to catch their breath. Raven flexes his arms while casting furtive glances around the dark. He then turns towards the huntress spending a few moments helping her wrap a cloth around her torso stopping the bleeding to her shoulder.
-----Romney and Lovan appear to be the most winded but after a few moments, everyone seems ready to carry on.
-----Rinda is the first to speak up, nodding toward the direction that the carpeting turns at. "That was where the creatures came from," she says lowly. "Is there an opening or door that leads from that wall?"
-----Lifting his torch high and walking cautiously forward, Garrison does reveal a closed door in the wall.
-----"Everyone ready." Sol says as a statement instead of a question, as he moves towards the door and quickly opens it.
-----Sarah approaches the door and raises her hands, cracking her knuckles. As she does this, sparks of magical energy fly from her ready hands. "Destine, give me a target." She says seriously, ready to blast the inside of the room with fiery magic as soon as the door is opened.
