-----At about high noon, Sol wanders back into the great hall. He asks Kazel and Dread if they would want to take the next two watches. The young warrior states that he hopes to catch some sleep before nightfall.
-----Seth then approaches Sol and his two companions and asks in a low tone, "Is there anything else we want to ask Woder about? I’m . . . uhm . . . running out of things to keep him entertained. He’s not the best of company."
-----The musician nods over toward the assassin who sits quietly with his eyes closed. Albert sits on the table across from Woder watching him curiously.
-----Sol replies to Seth in a neutral tone, "Yes. One more thing I can think of. If the followers of the Dark are here tonight, it'd be good t'know everything we can about them. How many there are, names if possible, what they expected from Woder and his men and what kind of reception Woder was preparing...that sort of thing. I'm assuming they're going to somehow activate the gem, and set it up here so that it's better protected than the last ones...but it'd be good if you can confirm all this from Woder."
-----The Gorian then stifles a yawn and adds, "If ye need anything, just give me a kick awake. If ye could, it'd be good if ye could wake me just before the sun sets." With that said, Sol makes his way over to one of the walls and takes off his backpack. He also takes his baldric and sword belt off. Lastly he removes his surcoat, so that he can get to his armour. Sleeping in chainmail is not the most comfortable venture, so after that has also been removed, Sol then carefully leans both swords against the wall and lays the chainmail flat out. Finally, he lies down, using the backpack as a pillow. It doesn't take the warrior long to fall asleep.
-----The Dread Pirate scowls at Sol for having the temerity to wake him, "Arrr, ye bloody great lummox, sure and ye've probably done nothin to bolster our defenses while ye've been awake. I know, I know, it’s far too strenuous to exercise yer mind when all ye do is lumber about swingin a sword and actin noble. I'm sure that’s a full time job in itself."
-----Kazel glances briefly over at Woder. So far she hasn't shown much interest in the man. "Just a bit of info. It seems there're at least two more keeps like these around here, and some of these followers are captured from Redmarsh and forced to work for Woder and his gang. Or, so they claim. See if Woder confirms the same?"
-----She nods over at some of the supplies and adds, "And there's some ammo and coins, I found. That's about it in the keep."
-----Sol doesn't verbally respond to the pirate's reaction upon being woken. He just waves his hand at the halfling showing his disinterest in arguing in favour of sleeping. He is still asleep by the time the Dread Pirate has returned and explained his plan.
-----Grumbling further, the Dread Pirate stalks off towards the keep's gates. When he gets there, he gloomily eyes the entrance and then goes to the stable and hauls a bale of hay out to the gate. He then reenters the keep and hauls all the oil he can find out to his ambush spot. He then places it all conveniently nearby, with his bag of caltrops.
-----He then gets his pony saddled up and cuts loose two of the prisoners, keeping a rope around their feet, effectively hobbling them. He waves his cutlass at them, as if to impress upon them the folly of attempting anything foolish. He then forces them to go out into the forest and cut down a medium sized tree and drag it back to the keep. The Dread Pirate then ties the prisoners back up and collects all the swords and daggers the prisoners had in their possession. He then takes the hammer out of his backpack and commences pounding the weapons through the tree, so that they will all stick out in every direction. If he can, he gets Kazel and Seth to help him haul the pointy log up to the top of the gates, so it can be pushed over the outer wall, blocking any attempts at escape for the band of evil coming in that evening.
-----The Dread Pirate then explains his plan, "Arrr, as I see it, those scurvy dogs will probably ride right in the front gate without a care in the world, confident that they control the countryside. What we'll do is have one person outside the gates, in case anybody somehow manages to escape. Seth can try to convince Woder to tell them all to come inside. Once they're all inside the gateway, Seth casts his greasy spell on the entranceway. We'll have conveniently spread the oil and the dry hay on top of it, so it'll be nice and toasty fer our guests. Once they are inside, we have one person on top of the gate to push the pointy log over the side. We'll also have the caltrops scattered about, inside and out of the gate, to keep things interesting. Then we just stand back and kill anything that gets out of the conflagration. Whaddya think?"
-----Seth then speaks up nervously after waking Sarah and Sol without an explanation and bringing them into the company of Kazel and the Dread Pirate. The expression on his face is one of extreme uneasiness. Even though they stand well away from Woder, Seth talks in hushed tones. "I talked with Woder earlier and asked him about everything Sol and Kazel wanted to know." A small smile comes across his face although the look of worry doesn’t leave as he adds, "He’s been trying to convince me to untie him, sneak away with him and leave all of you here."
-----"It seems like he wasn’t totally honest when Sol questioned him before. Woder and his gang were planning on leaving this castle today and they weren’t expecting anyone to drop in on them. Of course, they weren’t expecting on us getting inside the walls and capturing them either."
