-----"Now," hisses the old cloaked man with a red light growing in his dark eyes, "all of you drop your weapons or the small one dies!" The old one scans the room as he backs up with Gimplefwick in front of him.
-----Lotley lowers his sword, fuming in frustration. "Thou wilt ne’er get thee away with this!"
-----The male assassin with the oversized nose and the burly blacksmith sneer and move as if urging the two Guardians and the other two thieves to surrender.
-----Seth thinks quickly and looks at the angles of the Dread Pirate’s body to the old man's body and does some quick thinking ... "Obviously the blade is poisoned but with a Paladin and a friend from the temple - should be no problem"... He studies how the man holds the sword up to the chin .. "So if I hit him in say the hip on his sword hand side and make it a downward motion, he should slam into the floor dropping his sword and the halfling... At worst Gimplefwick might get cut by the sword...... at best he might lose some hair if the old man does not let go of his hair."
-----With his mind made up Seth moves around the paladin and walks so he has a clear view of the hip of the old man on his sword side. "Well, old man, I guess you've got us now, so what ya gonna do with us?"
-----Fuming, and back in control of himself, Gimplefwick stretches as high as he can. He then eyes Seth and says, "You just make sure this son of a bitch dies, okay?"
-----Suddenly Seth's fist punches out in a downward motion at the old man’s hip. "Sabba Sa!" Seth says and before the Dread Pirate can lunge at the blade at his neck, the force erupts once again from Seth’s ring. It strikes the old man taking him and the halfling pirate off their feet. The old man partially slams into the wall and begins to slum, the short black blade falling from his hand. Gimplefwick rolls free out of the way.
-----Kazel casually steps over the wounded assassin and kicks her over backwards. "Your goddess'd be ashamed of your stupidity, old man!" She then immediately lunges at the old sorcerer, moving unbelievably fast in her peasant dress as she tries to cut down the old man across the face as he stands. Her weapon slashes in badly injuring the side of his cheek. Dark blood begins to run and the evil one glares at Kazel with a murderous look.
-----The male assassin starts to approach Lotley who now goes on the defensive, raising his sword. The blacksmith raises a hammer over his head yelling as he runs at Pelator.
-----As quickly as possible, Gimplefwick kicks the black blade away from the conflict. Recovering his weapon, The Dread Pirate then keeps an eye on the female assassin. Kazel had really done a number on her. The woman continues to move, but painfully. Gimplefwick can see bloody bandages around her feet, obviously from the walk she took through the caltrop field Gimplefwick had spread earlier by the inn. He then looks to assist with the black robed one.
-----Seth smiles at Gimplefwick as he stands up, glad to see him still alive. Knowing that the old man is the greatest threat because of his magic, Seth retrieves his sling and shoots at the old man trying to keep him distracted so he cannot concentrate and cast any more spells. The shot misses the target and ricochets off the back wall.
-----Seeing the old man disarmed, Kazel puts away her sword and switches to her dagger in a stabbing grip, with the integrated knuckle-duster facing out. At the same time, the evil one reaches into his cloak and draws forth a black disk. In a fit of rage, she reaches for the wizard's collar with her left hand, but misses as a smile crosses the old dark face. Suddenly Kazel’s right hand swings out connecting with her enemy’s forehead.
-----A resounding thud is heard and the evil smile is replaced with a shocked expression. The cloaked form staggers a bit as Kazel sees the imprint of her new weapon in the old wrinkled forehead. With a cry of defeat, the black robed one falls to the floor once again, this time unconscious.
-----"Arrgh . . ." comes a low voice from the open window, "Them temple guards be headin’ this a way! Let’s beat it!" the thieves look up to see the panicked face of Picks beckon to them. Behind them, an assassin’s sword hits Lotley’s shield. The young paladin returns a thrust, missing. Likewise, Pelator draws off the swing of the blacksmith’s hammer as the priest’s sword swoops making his opponent back up. Outside in the still pouring rain is the sound of people on horses pulling up.
-----The Dread Pirate glares at Picks, torn by momentary indecision. The moment quickly passes and Gimplefwick stabs with his shortsword, attempting to solidly plant at least half of it through the black robed one's head. In his anger, he misses. Grumbling over the lack of time to pilfer bodies, Gimplefwick turns and runs for the back of the forge, taking the time to swipe at the badly wounded female as he passes. The groaning woman moves as the Dread Pirate’s sword swoops past her.
