-----"PICKS!" Wain shouts from the shadows and the room seems to fall even more silent than it was before. The dwarf drops his head and moves toward the table.
-----Wain takes one step forward and the lamplight slightly illuminates his face. His dark eyes seem to stare right through Kazel, however, his voice sounds calm, "We have been in operation for the last couple of months. We will train you when you require it. This is the entire guild you see before you. The funds we use to buy equipment. As for the leg work, it includes delivering messages, casing potential joints, moving goods to fences, and taking the watch here."
-----As for Kazel’s last question, his voice seems to get colder, "You DO NOT concern yourself with the wizard’s tower." A small fire seems to shine from his eyes.
-----Picks stands to one side of the table, visibly shaken. He looks down at his right arm, softly rubbing his other hand over it.
-----Gimplefwick looks about the suddenly tense room after the spate of questioning, "Arrr..well then. If we're to be runnin' ideas for pillagin by yerself, then there be a certain weapons merchant in town who might be an easy target. I've already given his place a quick once over, there be a small window on the second level where his home be. The window faces into an alley, so it might be easy to get in there. The merchant does have a wife, but we can wait fer her and her husband to go out some night to a tavern or some such and then get in through that back window. We'll need some tools fer the job though. Some picks and maybe some caltrops just in case we find a sudden need to escape the guard."
-----Kazel's brows frown in puzzlement, but her lips also curl in a slight smile of amusement. She seems to be both expecting, and yet surprised at the fuss. "Well, I s'pose he's on that non-existing list, then," she says as she absentmindedly rubs the scar on her neck with her palm, her other hand still casually in her pocket. "Funny how you have the plans for all the other lords and high priests."
-----She then gazes back at Wain with a twinkle in her eyes. "No more questions, your honour."
-----Sethanales is amazed. "Well, I guess it was a good idea to have taken up an extra job as a Harper to supplement my income." He shakes his head. "Well Wain, I put it to you, I am a man who understands Art, Music and some of the finer things in life. To aid me in scouting out possible hoists and getting close to the people who own these items I need some disguises. I am very good at disguising myself, but I would like to have three disguises, One as a Harper, One as an itinerant Art dealer and one as just someone about town. I put it to all of you, that I take the dues I earned for the guild, and buy some clothes and materials, so I can carry on these disguises to the betterment of the guild." He pauses, "In fact, already I have established the identity of my first disguise, Ramone the painter and artist. As Ramone I have made contact with some foreign merchants namely one called Louie, who claims to have some 'art' work in his tent." He now smiles at Kazel. "Indeed Kazel has a sorely needed advantage for all of us. She knows the west side of town like the back of her hand. I put to you all now, that you give her back her dues to scout out and secure safe houses and lines of retreat out of the town for the betterment of the guild."
-----He now looks at the dread pirate. "And Dread Pirate Gimplefwick knows the water ways, let him take his dues and buy a new cutlass, and for some money to spread around the docks for locating wealthy merchants and cargos."
-----Sethanales unconsciously reaches for his harp, and then realizes it is elsewhere. "I put it to all of us the Guild, one for all, ALL FOR ONE" throwing his arm into the air!!!"
-----The room remains silent and Wain lifts one eyebrow. "Very ambitious," he says, almost in a whisper as he looks Seth, Kazel and Gimplefwick over, "and very possibly workable, however, for your first job, I had something a bit more. . . subtle." He then begins to walk slowly around the room keeping to the shadows. "We have a number of goods ready to go by wagon to our fence in Lut. It takes two days to drive the wagon there, two to get back. If you deliver the goods there and return with the money, how does a five percent cut sound to you?" He turns to face the three thieves waiting for their reaction.
-----Gimplefwick winks at Wain, "Arrr skipper, that be five percent apiece right? It be all fine and dandy to liberate the booty, but disposing of it is often the riskiest part of a caper. Will the city guard of either town be lookin' fer us? And who's property might we be takin' on a journey? Not that I care overmuch where it came from, I just want to know who to be on the lookout fer. Also should we be avoidin' the main routes and stick to the countryside?"
-----Wain looks sternly at the Dread Pirate and rests one hand under his lower lips. "Hmm . . . a piece?" The Guildmaster seems to mull it over. He then continues to answer the rest of Gimplefwick’s questions. "You will take the guise of merchants, so no one in the town should suspect the three of you. Lut is a village and they have no regular guard there. The goods are mostly trinkets taken from various parts of town. You will take the trail road south of town. It’s easy to follow to the village and that way you won’t arouse suspicion."
