-----"It be ah vary wee quiet village fer sure!" Jogler speaks up in answer to Kazel, "Ya has da tavern down za road. If’n ya goes out jest ta make sure ya don’ts ta track da attention ta O’ Jogler! Yer more dan a’welcome ta stay n’ help wif da farm while ya wait!" Jogler smiles and motions to Seth to play some on his harp.
-----At the mention of farm work, Gimplefwick glares with deep loathing at Jogler, "Shiver me timbers, I'm not workin on no bloody farm, ye scurvy landlubber. I'll take me chances with the wagon out in the rain and the cold first. I'll not wield a bloody pitchfork! I'm going to the tavern if anybody wants me."
-----Gimplefwick gathers his things and storms out of the barn, headed down the road towards the tavern.
-----Seth stops his harping for a moment, "Um yeah what he said," and returns to strumming his harp. "Well if we are going I had better pick up my selections from the Tailor. Do you want to come along Kazel or shall I pick them up for you while I am there?"
-----Kazel watches Gimplefwick disappears into the rain, somewhat baffled by his intense emotional state. "Looks like we're leaving today then," Kazel says to Jogler. "I've nothing to pick up, Seth. Why don't you go to the tailor's, and me and Jim will catch up to you two after we load the wagon."
-----Seth then prepares himself and dashes out into the light rain. Kazel, Jim, and Jogler load up the wagon. They store the money for the "fenced items" in the secret compartment with the long box containing the coins. Next is placed some of their food stores that Calron sent with them. Finally Jogler lifts the tied orc into the back of the wagon.
-----Jogler then opens the barn door and Jim slowly backs the wagon out of the barn. The chilly air whips into the canopy sending the riders after blankets. Seth’s crow flies underneath the wagon covering alighting on a barrel and cawing at their prisoner.
-----After clearing the barn, Jim turns the wagon and Jogler calls a farewell to them that is hard to understand. Chances are, if the weather was totally pleasant, Kazel and Jim still wouldn’t understand him.
-----They start down the road and Kazel tells Jim what building to drive to. They no sooner stop in front of the shop than Seth comes out with a box containing his cloak. Gregory sticks his head out the door to wish them well and they start down the road again.
-----Up ahead they see the Dread Pirate standing outside the tavern. The establishment looks dark and apparently hasn’t opened yet. Gimplefwick looks totally soaked as he peers inside the window.
-----Kazel sees Gimplefwick standing helplessly in the rain and smiles despite herself. "C'mon, ya salty dog! We'll buy a drink when we're back in Hearthorn!"
-----Seth mumbles something, "mm I’ll try and have a scout up ahead once we get out of town. Make sure none of those orc things are out there!!" He stows his packages and makes room for Gimplefwick on the wagon.
-----Shrugging his shoulders, the Dread Pirate hops up on the wagon and settles back for the ride back to Hearthorn.
-----A while later, the wagon moves back up the road toward the northeast. The light rain continues to fall and there appears to be no break in the clouds. The little village of Lut begins to dwindle in the distance behind them.
-----Although there is more room underneath the wagon covering, the mood inside the wagon becomes as glum as the weather outside. The wagon slightly rocks back and forth as it sloshes along. Every now and then the cold breeze blows in sending a light mist of moisture along with it.
-----Seth sends the crow out. It takes to the air and begins to fly ahead of the wagon. After about four hours, the trail begins to turn more northward and everyone knows that soon they will pass the ruined village. The orcish prisoner, in the back, begins to stare around at the others with an angry scowl on its face. Kazel makes a face back at the orc, and taunts it with a pat on its head.
-----Just before they reach the village where the trio encountered the humanoids, Jim stops the wagon to allow the horses to rest and feed. The riders all keep a look out, but they find no sign of trouble while they eat their lunch.
-----By the afternoon, the wagon makes it past the ruins and continues on northward. Soon they reach the point where the trail road forks and Jim turns the wagon so they are heading to the east. Finally in the late afternoon, it stops raining. The sky remains very cloudy, however, and it looks as though the precipitation could pick up again.
-----They ride along for about an hour more and then Jim starts looking for a place to camp for the night. He pulls the wagon into a level clear place just off the road. In the distance, about two miles away, the thieves can see the hill they stayed close to that first night out on the journey.
