-----Turning toward the Dread Pirate, he continues, "You mentioned hearing about a tavern room number. Did that beggar tell one of you something?"
-----Grimacing at Wain's manner, the Dread Pirate speaks, "Avast there, skipper. I believe the beggar spoke to Kazel. In my haste to get away from the goings on at the well, I seem to have forgotten the message in its entirety. I think it was room five, but I'm not really sure what inn or tavern." Gimplefwick shrugs and looks at Kazel.
-----Seth looks at Wain, "This pack is in the back room at Brad's tavern, it contains my disguises, my harp and certain other items such as rope, and a grapple. Yes, I should say that I may need some of the contents for training. It also contains a book. Either way I want the pack today."
-----Wain snaps his fingers. "Fly, you heard where it is. Go get it!" The Fly immediately scrambles and his longish limbs seem to go in all directions. He quickly disappears down the entry tunnel. Wain follows Gimplefwick’s gaze as he looks at Kazel.
-----Seth smiles as the Fly leaves to retrieve his pack, he is much relieved and able to concentrate on the proceedings at hand now.
-----Kazel studies Wain for a moment, rather surprised to hear such straightforward answers. Finally she says, "That beggar was Theo. The assassins had him before we arrived, but he managed to say 'Room 5, West Gate Inn' before dropping dead." Her voice is cold and unfeeling, but anger shimmers in her eyes as she speaks of the beggar's death. She then walks over and picks up one of the parchments containing the plans for the White Unicorn that Picks was studying. "Here's where Horace stayed earlier - were you planning something there?" she says as she waves the plan at the others. "The dead woman stayed at the Evening Star, while the one who got away was in the Fire Pit. We think there are also two more assassins besides these three, when they tried to hunt us down outside of town."
-----Kazel then puts the paper down and takes a seat at the table, suddenly looking sleepy again. "Oh, one more thing - did the rumours say which three were murdered? There were four dead last night."
-----"Four dead?" a sound of surprise comes from Wain in the shadows. "There was one man with an arrow through his throat, a larger man with his gut slit and Theo. Who was the fourth?"
-----As Wain says who is the fourth, Seth utters "Oh OH!! you did check to make sure she was dead didn't you Dread Pirate, when you searched her body?" Seth looks hard at Kazel, "and she kissed you before she fell..."
-----"If it was poison, I don't feel anything yet." Kazel rubs her cheek a little. "She looked as dead as... never mind. But then I could've been too intent on taking the sword."
-----The Dread Pirate shrugs at the mention of the woman still being among the living, "Shiver me timbers, she seemed dead enough to me. But then I was more concerned with relieving her of her more encumbering possessions than checking her pulse. If we killed her once, we can kill her again. Though I would imagine that she is less than happy with us for killing her."
-----Gimplefwick rubs his chins and commences with a tale, "I seem to recall on one of my voyages that the skeletal dead rose up and attacked my friends and I. We were on a quest for the Golden Fleece, the argonauts and I, when we were assaulted by some magically animated skeletons. Aye, it was a horrific fight. The clatter of their bones still haunts me to this day." Gimplefwick shivers as he recalls that epic battle.
-----Gimplefwick glares at Seth for mentioning his looting of the woman's corpse, "Anyways, I did find some trinkets on her body." Gimplefwick then pulls out a scroll case, a ring, and a potion for the others to look at. "I suppose I don't have much of a use fer the scroll. If’n it’s worth anything, then maybe I'll sell it. If I get enough gold I can buy me own ship and go back to piratin'. Leave all these assassins and their landlubbery ways behind me."
-----Seth smiles at the Dread Pirate, "I thought you were the sharing and caring type. Hand me the scroll and I shall examine it for you." He holds out his hand waiting for the Dread Pirate to hand over the scroll.
-----"Interesting," whispers Wain’s voice from the shadows. "If you wish Books can look over the potion and the scroll and try to find out what they do. If the ring is special, she might also tell what it is for."
-----While waiting for the Dread Pirate’s answer, he says, "Well, my young trio of thieves, you have had a busy week. Tonight there is much you must do. Are you ready to begin your training?"
-----"Yea," Kazel replies as she puts on a sweet smile. "But how 'bout breakfast first? We hadn't eaten last night and we're going to be training all day."
-----Gimplefwick hands the scroll, potion, and ring over to Wain, "Aye, if Books has a moment or two and would be willing to look these over, I'd greatly appreciate it. Now would that be a service of the guild, or are donations required? As for the training, I'm about ready to go. I'd be more ready if'n I could be leavin some of me gold here in a safe place. That way I won't be getting me pockets picked like that wench did in the tavern last night." Gimplefwick smolders at the thought of someone getting one over on him.
