-----"Me, I rather keep my own money to myself," Kazel says as she makes a coin flipping over the back of her fingers. "Did they say what they'd do with the lead coins you left there? I don't want to be around if the town guard or knights take apart this place and find that chest..."
-----A few minutes later, Wain and Picks joins the three thieves on the first floor of the keep. "Kazel will join me on the next floor," he says as he ushers her toward another ladder. "You will stay here with Picks," he says as he points to the Dread Pirate, "and Seth will join the Fly below." The trio then begins the next part of the day’s training.
-----Kazel takes the wooden sword and looks at it trying to see if it's well used. Curiously she asks, "What are you training for Gimplefwick and Seth? And why did you pick me for combat training?"
-----Wain answers, "You are all being trained in the extra unique skills you have. For most of you, I wish to see what fighting skills you possess. I choose you because Picks is closer to the Halfling Pirate’s size."
-----A few hours later after the training for the day is done, the trio of thieves is gathered around the table with Wain, Picks, and the Fly. Picks sets the lantern on the table giving the room a more ominous dark look than it had before. Wain’s features seem to be swallowed up once again by the shadows.
-----Seth looks at Kazel, "Umm I’m not sure if I am training. I think one could say I am studying. Fly has been teaching me new tricks, and I have let him learn some of my tricks. In fact that Grease trick is Fly's favorite. Be careful walking in the corridors!!! The fly has been slipping and sliding up and down them."
-----"Tonight we go out and follow up on a few tips that have come our way," begins the Guildmaster. "Picks," he says, addressing the dwarf, "I want you out checking with the beggars on any news from today." The dwarf seems to nod knowingly.
-----"Fly, you play the usual routine with the guards and the Holy Temple. Use the rendezvous points every two hours. If one doesn’t show up, you head back here." The Fly takes both hands and gleefully claps. He then mutters something about pig fat.
-----"You three," Wain says pointing to the trio, "I want you to check out room 5 at the West Gate Inn. If the room is empty, find out what you can. If it’s occupied, get what you can, even if it’s a look at a face. Don’t take any chances, if you learn just one little thing tonight, you have done well. Head back here and don’t spend the night in town."
-----Wain then leans forward and says, "I’ll be off to check out places that might be hiding counterfeit molds and casts. We have an hour to rest up and eat before dark. Any questions?"
-----Seth walks over to Fly and whispers in his ear.
-----"Where's the chest of lead coins that we brought back?" Kazel raises her hand. "And what are Dora, Grin and Books doing?"
-----Gimplefwick nods, "Aye, it might be a help if'n we get back those items that I lent to ye to have checked out. Who knows but that they might come in handy. Maybe Books can hustle it up a bit."
-----Wain quickly says, "I’ve got it hidden. I don’t want to reveal the hiding place yet until we need it." Standing straight again so the shadows engulf him, he adds, "Grin is looking into the question of whether your big friend who had a room at the White Unicorn left anything behind. Dora is casing the two taverns you mentioned and the last time I saw Books, she was researching those items you passed along." Wain’s dark form nods toward Gimplefwick.
-----Seth seems preoccupied with some unusual task with the Fly and is not really paying attention to what the others are doing. He seems to be looking here and there and whispering to the Fly.
-----After a while he turns to Wain, "Oh I have a ring I would like Books to look at. Should I pass it to her or would you do that for me Wain?"
-----A slight impatient tone creeps into Wain’s voice. "Books works for a merchant that sells scrolls and books. The shop is on the same block as the tavern you frequent. If the three of you must see her, you can stop off on the way to the West Gate Inn. I would suggest that you handle your manner discreetly so as not to draw attention to yourselves or her." Wain pauses to see if anyone else has a question.
-----"May help if we borrow a set of picks for tonight," Kazel says. "Otherwise I say we go."
-----The Dread Pirate nods, "Aye, let’s be movin’ out."
-----Seth looks around the room, nods at the Fly and says, "Happy sliding friend!" He takes his double-sided cloak from his backpack and stands in front of Kazel and Gimplefwick. "Well I guess I am ready."
-----Kazel borrows a set of lockpicks and a small mirror from the guild before leaving. "Do we have enough rope this time, if we want to bundle up someone we knock silly?" she asks of Gimplefwick and Seth as she changes her bandages. "I also want to stop by the weaponsmith, if possible."
-----Seth makes ready his 'ingredients' in pouches and pockets that are easily found.
-----Gimplefwick pats down his pockets to ensure he has his pouch of caltrops, coil of rope and grappling hook. Before leaving the guild, he also grabs a couple of gold coins from his stash.
