-----Sarah tries to hold back a shiver, but can't. She says to Dreda. "Yes I do. I feel it with every fiber of my body. And that’s why I'm terrified." Seeing that Heiros hasn't gotten any more cooperative she points at him and speaks arcane words. She once again marvels at Sol’s bravery.
-----Heiros suddenly straightens in his saddle and slowly shakes his head as if it is swimming. He then blinks and relaxes, looking at Sarah as if listening intently.
-----Raven gets off his horse and ties it to a nearby tree. Raven readies his bow, "I don't think the horses will do well in there, I'm leaving mine here. I have a question for Dreda, then let’s bring some light to their world."
-----Raven turns toward Dreda, "How close are we to your base? How many people are in there?" Raven keeps glancing at the darkness as Dreda answers.
-----A slight frown crosses Dreda’s face as Sarah casts her spell, but she answers Raven. "What you seek is there amid the Dark glow." She nods toward the inky mass. "There are perhaps, no more than you found at my tower." She then glances over at Heiros who continues to stare with a questioning look at Sarah.
-----Zentil carefully stalks forward, his drawn bow in front of him. He suddenly stops a few feet in front of the border of darkness. The elf flinches, as if sensing something repulsive. The breeze whispers through the trees behind them and seems to fade closer to the perimeter of the Dark.
-----"Ready then." Sol affirms, then adds, "Raven's right, we all should leave the horses here." He once more returns his gaze to the darkness, and begins to walk slowly towards it.
-----Raven says to Dreda, "Could you lead us through this darkness? We could follow behind you and that way your friends might not attack us at first sight."
-----In a low voice to Sol, Raven says, "That might give us an edge. I have a feeling we'll need it..."
-----Turning back to Dreda, he says, "Oh, do you have the power to heal the hurt? There are a couple of us here that could use a good healing."
-----Sarah dismounts from her horse, tying it by Sol’s and Raven’s. Then she walks over to Heiros. "Why don't you get off your horse, friend?" She asks. Then she removes his bonds and gag.
-----"If you guys are hurt maybe we should rest for awhile before we charge into the dark. Another day would also give me and Thalog a chance to memorize more spells. I'm right out now. But I still have darts if you guys want to go ahead anyway."
-----Zentil looks over at Sol, his eyes narrowed. The elf shakes his head, saying, "Something’s not right here. I don’t think we should go in."
-----Dreda looks at Raven with a strange adoring expression. "Yes, I can lead you though and I can heal," she says as she starts reaching for her pouch. Suddenly she realizes that it is gone and a look of distress crosses her face. "My Dark Amulet! It’s gone! I can’t help until I have it!"
-----Mistress Dreda looks at Sarah with a pleading look.
-----At the suggestion of Dreda providing healing power, Rand turns toward Raven with a look of concern. "Raven," he asks, "do you think that wise?"
-----Sarah simply laughs at Dreda’s request. "Give you back your amulet? I think not." She says, still chuckling.
-----Heiros al’Thor quickly climbs down from his saddle, staring at his brother. Although he remains calm, a look of hate is on his face as he stares at Rand. He mutters to Sarah as she stands beside him, "I’ll help you, but not this weakling. He still has yet to tell me where my sisters are."
-----Sol turns from the Darkness, and wanders over to an unoffending tree. He leans back against it carefully and comments, "Looks like we may be here a while. But if we ever get moving again, I'll vote fer Raven's plan o' action." Sol doesn't seem worried about the delay, the smile on his face showing resigned amusement.
-----Raven gives Rand a slight smile, "I thought it would be funny to have them use their power to help us kill 'em." Raven smile fades, "Why? You're the expert on gods around here. I thought it didn't matter how someone is healed just that they get healed." Raven waits for Rand's answer.
-----Rand lowers his voice, so Dreda and his brother do not overhear him. "I see your reasoning, but in my mind, I don’t see ‘healing’ coming from a priestess of the goddess of darkness and nightmares," Rand says as he points toward the ominous Darkness. He then casts a wary eye toward Mistress Dreda. "I advise caution."
-----Raven growls, "Damn! I don't want to put this off, but I've seen what your art can do." Raven looks at Sol and then back to Sarah, "I think Sarah is right, we should find a good place to camp and then tackle their base tomorrow."
