-----Raven walks to the edge of the hill and slowly begins to descend toward the area of Darkness at the bottom. To one side, a few yards away from the shadowy trees, Raven sees Zentil shake his head as if clearing his mind from the stress of the spell.
-----Raven waves to Zentil until he sees him and motions for Zentil to follow him. Raven then returns to the group.
-----Sol crouches down in front of Sarah, and continues to speak to her, "This isn't your fault. The people we are fighting are responsible for this. People like that help turn others like Gabe to banditry. Offering a false way of life. At least you offered him redemption. And he took it, gladly from what I've seen."
-----Raven says to Sol, "Any chance I could take a look at the short sword now?" Raven listens to Sol's comments, "I couldn't agree more Sarah. Death is part of life, at least Gabe died helping people. I think Gabe was a good man at his core and your magic brought that goodness out of him. Now is not the time to turn away from your powers, but to improve them so the evil that killed him can be stopped." Raven looks back to make sure Zentil is making his way back to the group.
-----Sarah is quietly shaking her head, but is too weak to resist Sol and Rand’s efforts. She finally lets go of Gabe, and lets herself be led inside, deep in thought.
-----Zentil approaches Raven as he stands outside examining the short sword from one of the women. The elf mutters something about starting to hate those black disks.
-----Inside, Sol and Rand lead Sarah past Thalog who sits at a table diligently going over some scrolls and a book. They find a comfortable looking bed in which to let Sarah rest and Rand applies a healing spell. As the divine blessing lifts the hurt from the magical attack, Sarah remains silent as the pain in her heart remains.
-----Rand then leaves Sol to watch the young sorceress as he returns outside to tend to the dead. He sees Raven and Zentil looking over a weapon. The girl with the stringy hair begins to awaken and she looks disoriented as she realizes she is tied up. Heiros is still down on the ground where Raven left him, but he shoots Rand a hateful glance.
-----Fighting the urge to pepper his brother with arrows, Rand moves on toward the fallen dead. Dreda’s mangled body he covers with the cloak the woman wore. For the warrior woman, he covers her with a sheet found in the cottage. He then stands up, looking for a more respectable way to take care of Gabe.
-----Suddenly, Rand begins to yell, "Sol, Thalog, please come out here now!" Raven and Zentil turn in surprise as the cleric looks at them. Rand points to the spot where moments ago, poor Gabe’s body lay. The body is gone!
-----Sol looks at everyone, "Where is...he?" his voice sounds stressed, "Raven...Zentil, didn't you guys see or hear...anything?" He emphasizes the last word. Sol begins to looks for tracks.
-----Sarah follows Sol out, apparently not wanting to be left alone, and is mystified by what has happened. "Gabe...?" She says softly. She looks around, wondering what could have happened.
-----Sol looks around for a bit and remarks, "Nothing. I don't understand this. This has been one heck of a confusing day." He looks back at the group and notices Sarah. Concerned, he says, "Sarah, you should be resting." Sol begins to walk toward her, intent on guiding her back indoors.
-----Raven twirls to the spot where Gabe's body was. Raven says, "You've got to be kidding. Damn it!" When Raven sees Sol starting to move towards where Gabe was, Raven says to Sol, "Hold up, let me take a look first. You might make it harder for me to spot the tracks." Raven then holds up Sol's old long sword. "Here you can have this back, thanks for letting use it."
-----Raven then goes over to where the body was and starts to look for tracks.
-----Sarah once again has no energy left to resist. She lets herself be taken back inside to the bed. "Don't leave me." She begs of Sol, just before she passes out.
-----Raven says, "I found no clues to who took Gabe. It was like he just disappeared." Raven turns to look towards where the darkness is. Raven continues, "I know one thing, I ain't staying here. I say we get ourselves as far from here as possible, rest-up and then come back here to settle-up with these bastards."
-----Raven looks over at the two agents of darkness that are tied-up. Raven starts to walk over to them.
-----Thalog puts the book back on the table after he has finished his work with it. "When Sarah wakes up she will want to see that," Thalog points to the book. Now he whispers so the Worshippers of the Dark cannot hear him, "Raven, I found something interesting, the Worshippers of the Dark are using powerful mortal magic in combination with their divine powers. Two 'Protection from Magic' scrolls were on the table. The Worshippers of the Dark are preparing for a magical battle." Now more to himself, Thalog says, "But against who and for what purpose?"
