-----Kazel looks over at the Dread Pirate and motions him down as some of the dim firelight reflects off his sword.
-----The Dread Pirate dons a fierce grin and motions for Kazel to go back outside and join the others. He follows after her and shuts the door behind him. He then tells the others, "Arrrr, that bastard Woder is in there with that purloined crystal. In a few minutes he'll be sending some more troops out to relieve those guards we incapacitated. I propose we hurry back to our original entry positions, gag the guards and take their places. In the dark they shouldn't be able to tell the difference until it’s too late. He has about a dozen troops inside....too many fer us to try to take on all at once, so we do it piecemeal. But I'll stay here by the door, hidden in the shadows, so I can keep the door open and unbolted, in case those inside hear the battle out here. Now we don't have time fer argument and discussion, those guards will be here any moment. Once ye've dealt with those new guards, haul yer behinds down here. I might be sorely pressed. Now go!"
-----The Dread Pirate skulks into the shadows by the door.
-----Sol continues to look frustrated and as he heads back to the door at the base of the tower where he and Rinda took out the two guards, he mutters, "Only twelve..."
-----Seth brightens up a bit and mutters, "Maybe we could ambush ‘em with grease and oil as they come out this door still..."
-----"Riiggghhhttt." Sarah comments and rolls her eyes at Dread’s 'strategy.' She follows the others back up to the catwalk and waits in the shadows for the replacements to appear.
-----"I'm not putting on armor." She says to Raven, by way of explanation. "It messes up magic." Sarah takes out a piece of incense and gets ready to light it. "Wait until I cast my spell before you act." She cautions the others.
-----Raven shoots Sol a quick smile and then says to Sarah in a low voice, "Just wear their cloak, that should be enough." Raven returns his sword to their scabbards. Moving quickly, Raven returns to the tower to wait for the next shift. Once on top of the tower Raven finds a place to hide the two guards in the shadows. Just as Raven gets them placed and takes from them their cloaks, the guards begin to slowly stir.
-----A few minutes later, the door to the keep opens and seven men emerge wearing the same type of leather armor the others wore. The men pass Gimplefwick as the halfling pirate is concealed by the shadows. They then begin moving toward different locations within the courtyard. Four of them split and head toward the two towers by the back wall. Three of them remain in the courtyard looking around.
-----Kazel and Seth stand along a darkened side of the keep as the four move off toward the towers. The thieves can hear the three men in the courtyard begin to talk. "Blimey," says one of them, "where’s our guard what ‘trols nearest the castle?" Another of the men suggests that maybe they’re in one of the front towers or by the gate. Just as the three guards begin to move toward the gate, a sound comes from the two guards that Seth had bound as they begin to awaken.
-----Seth, thinking fast that he DOES not want to get hurt, decides to cast another spell. He quickly reaches into his pouch for some sand. He mumbles a few words and sprinkles sand in the direction of the guards in the courtyard and hopes they fall asleep.
-----The Dread Pirate stays hidden in the shadows by the door, waiting to see if any alarm is raised or if his plan gets foiled somehow.
-----The three guards continue walking about three more steps and suddenly they collapse on the ground. The muffled noises from the men at Seth’s feet begin to increase as they come to.
-----Kazel taps Seth on the arm and turning, the thieves see Sol quickly heading their way from the tower.
-----Seth whispers to Kazel, "You knock these ones on the head to make them go to sleep again," indicating the already trussed up guards at his feet.
-----He moves over to the newly 'sleeping' guards and begins to gag them and bind them.
-----Two healthy thuds are heard while Sol passes around the front of the keep as Kazel silences the bound guards once again. The young warrior slings his cloak around him, helping to hide his drawn sword. Sol then begins to climb the stairs with an intent look on his face. At the top of the steps, he looks to open the door and boldly walk in.
-----Seth fiddles with his backpack and tries to hide in the shadows again, waiting to see what his fellow rouges do before chasing off after Sol.
-----With a sense of building anticipation, Sol opens the door and strides in. He boldly walks up the stairs and at the top he sees before him the large hall lit at one end by a fireplace. A half dozen men in leather armor are standing listening intently to another man in a dark cloak. This man could only be the man the Dread Pirate had called Woder. As the man speaks, he stuffs a large palm-sized object into a silky looking sack.
