-----A slight chill seems to enter the room as the young man continues, "The most our troop encountered during all that time were bands of ogres and the eerie howls that would come in the night. Most figured that was due to us patrolling around Grute and the fact that we were one of the troops farther to the northern regions of the fief. People there lock themselves in at sunset and remain highly suspicious of those they do not know."
-----Brandel pauses and adds quietly, "That was over a month ago. We have not heard of the way things are in Redmarsh since that time."
-----Seth looks at Sarah and there is sorrow in his eyes for her.
-----Sarah smiles back to Seth to show that she has more than gotten over it and then smiles in Sol’s direction.
-----The Dread Pirate grits his teeth at the mention of yet more undead to be fought, then he looks very uneasy at the mention of dragons roaming about. "I'm thinkin we might want to consider leavin the horses and goin by foot. We'd be best served to try sneakin in, if'n the countryside is crawlin with critters. And we can go places on foot that horses can't go. They'd only slow us down and attract attention. We'll have to stay well away from the roads, I'm sure they'll be closely watched too. It might not be a bad idea to have Sir Greene or a group of mercenaries ride in though fer a few days and make a lot of noise. It'd draw attention away from a small, quiet group sneakin in. We stand a pretty good chance if'n we try to cut through cross country, avoid roads and towns. Kazel can take point, if'n she's willing, she's probably best able to scout ahead and keep us clear o' danger. Raven can take rear guard, makin sure that nothin is sneakin up behind us."
-----Sarah shudders inwardly at the thought of trekking through a swamp without Marlexana along. Not wanting to appear picky, she keeps her mouth shut. After all, Dread is making perfect sense.
-----The halfling pirate continues, "We'll probably want to sneak out of town as well. I'm sure that this place is bein watched. And if Krondor has a brain in his head, he's probably on high alert since Devlin and a large number of his troops have either gone missin or been killed. With any luck, we'll be able to get to this keep and kill Devlin. If we're lucky, we might be able to hold it too, until Sir Greene can get there and take over. O' course that’s assumin that we don't run into any dragons. We can probably kill any undead or ogres, but I don't think we'd stand much of a chance against a dragon. I wouldn't even want to try."
-----Sarah nods and says, "We killed Devlin already, are you thinking of Krondor? And as much as I would like to fight a dragon I don't think it’s very realistic at this point either." Sarah sighs as she thinks of fighting dragons and how cool it would be if they beat one. "Every day I hope I see the last of the undead, but I guess that won't be the case until we clear out Redmarsh. But I'm curious, Dread, who do you think is watching this place? Have you found something that would make you think that Krondor’s organization is wider spread than we first thought? I was under the impression that we caught most of the followers of Noctura out at the cave."
-----Dread only grins at Sarah and says, "Arrr, ain't love grand?"
-----Sarah smiles warmly at Dread, stands up and walks over to Sol. She slides her arm around his waist and leans against his shoulder. "Yes, it is." She says back to him.
-----Seth points his chin at Marast and says, "Marast is a good scout and knows the country as well!"
-----"'Course it is, when there're other people to clean up the mess," Kazel rolls her eyes and starts pacing in the room as if there's not enough space in the large hall. "But I won't be one of those and it's just as well I take point. Marast can stay with the group."
-----When Sol finishes talking, she replies, "Well now, are the government and army good for nothing then? If they haven't got the men, they sure got enough gold to hire some mercenaries." Kazel sweeps her hand across the fine furnishings of the room and waving off the perfumed air at the same time. "That and as much supplies and holy water as they can carry."
-----She looks at a nearby chair, then unsheathes her sword and starts to clean the zombie goo off the blade on the fine velvet.
-----The Dread Pirate grins yet more broadly at the sight of Kazel cleaning her longsword on the fine velvet, he then commences to pull out his throwing knives and repoison them, since it’s been several days since he thought to do so.
