-----The warrior next addresses the pirate, "Dread, ye need not worry about Sarah an' me. We'll pull th' same amount o' weight we always have."
-----Finally, Sol's head cocks to one side and he looks at Raven questioningly, "Raven, Rinda, we've got one plan here. Have ye got anything t'add or another one?"
-----"The moon is full this night," the Huntress says, "From now into the next week, its cycle will be waning. I do not know how this will affect the werebeasts perhaps it will be an aid to us. If we travel in darkness, the moon will also be in the sky for the next few nights."
-----Raven looks surprised that someone asked his opinion. Raven clears his throat and then says, "We could ride our horse up to the nearest border town and stable them. That will save us time at least. As for Kaz taking point, being quiet and being able to hide in shadows does not make you a good scout. I'd feel I'd be best at point. I've proved to be a very good scout in our past travels."
-----Raven turns to Dread, "I know you hate me and you know how I think of you. I see you are going to try to ignore me and make light of my skills granted by the Hunter whenever you can. I've proved myself many times over in this group. I can't help but feel insulted. Dread, I have serious doubts we can work together. I was willing to keep my mouth shut and keep our goal in mind, but I don't know if this will work."
-----Raven's voice is full of disappointment and sadness.
-----Kazel blinks a few times and then laughs. "So what are you saying, that if I clean it on a towel or scrape it off the window sill then the servants won't have to wash it? Guess what, I need my blades clean from killin the last evil monster so I can use it on the next. I'll do whatever I need to get my job done for Hearthorn. Get your priorities straight Sol. This fancy velvet is nothing more than a rag to me."
-----She listens to Raven's latest exchange with Gimplefwick and then looks back wearily at Sol. "Like I was saying, let them speak for themselves."
-----Kazel puts a finger to her cheek and looks up at the heavens as if in deep thought. "Hmm, let's see Raven, you want to keep your mouth shut but then complains no one asks your opinion. Then you dismiss my skills and complain about having your skills dismissed in the same breath." She throws her arms up and shrugs. "If you really want to work together and focus on the goal, then you should try to think a little more, complain a little less, and stop taking everything personally. Or are you going to say your feelings are tougher to beat than orcs and zombies?"
-----The half-elven girl then resheathes her sword. "Oh well, I'm heading back to the inn." She waves to the mercenaries and says something to Runik as she heads off after Seth.
-----The Dread Pirate looks disgustedly at Raven and says sardonically, "Why do ye take everything personally? I have a very good reason fer nominatin Kazel fer the position. It's not my place to explain it though. Suffice to say that I remember yer skills from scoutin out those little red devils when we left Hearthorn. That went poorly. Since then I haven't seen ye do much else that would change me opinion of yer stealthiness. Kazel is much more skilled at movin unseen than you. And due to her elven heritige, she can see in the dark if'n she's out in front. And Marast should probably be next in line, since he can direct us. We could probably use somebody to identify the tracks in front of us anyway. But the ability to move quietly and not be seen is the major part o' bein on point. And she's better at it than you are. As a matter o' fact, I'll even bet ye my share of the reward we were promised. We can set up a little test afore we get to the border and see who can sneak up on Sol while he's at guard duty one night. Whoever gets closest wins. Just so Kazel gets somethin out of it, I'll split me prize money with her if'n she wins," Dread tips a big wink towards Kazel.
-----The Dread Pirate chuckles, "As far as hatin ye, ye aren't really worth that sort of effort. I really couldn't care if ye lived, died, or grew daisies out of yer arse. On the other hand, I'm not goin to kiss yer rump and knuckle under to ye just to keep ye around. Though I'd be sorry to see Rinda leave, she's the only one of us with healin abilities. Understand that I'm not Sol and I don't care if ye pack up yer bags and go home in a big snit cuz yer feelins are hurt. Now ye've got another chance to prove yer abilites before it really matters and we get to the border. If'n ye fail, which I expect ye will, then ye'll take rear guard position and Marast will take the second spot as well, since he knows the countryside and can steer us in the right direction. If he wants to, that is, I'm not his employer, so I can't speak for him. If ye win, then ye can take point and I'll keep quiet and let ye slaughter all the helpless prisoners ye want as well. That’s the best and fairest deal ye'll get. And it’s a chance to prove yerself as somethin besides a mere brainless prat, who can only swing a sword. Show yerself to be useful and I'll treat ye different."
