-----Just then, Gimplefwick lets loose with his second blade. The sylvan elf seeing the motion of the small weapon arm gracefully moves dodging the Dread Pirate’s missile. The elven warrior shoots Gimplefwick a savage grimace.
-----The beard human still stunned by the intrusion momentarily growls at Gimplefwick, "Damn ye! Which side ye be on!" This proves to be as much as the man can say to the Dread Pirate as the human hears the elf leap. The woodsman turns just in time to parry a thrust from the elf.
-----In the meantime, the party slowly makes its way down the incline carefully skirting the battle. Kazel follows in the rear keeping an eye on their progress. Ahead, the unearthly Darkness slowly looms larger with each movement of their steeds.
-----Sarah beneath her hood stares at the blackness they approach with large eyes. A moment of unreasonable insanity seems to pass as the noise of the lively fight continues, while before the party all is silent within the Dark where certainly nothing wholesome could exist.
-----"For within the shadow of evil all was turned to chaos. Brother killed brother and the dead walked..." Sarah says as she quotes some obscure passage of some obscure book.
-----"Try not to kill anybody, please." Sarah says matter of factly as she prepares to break into the arcane tongue, reaching into one of her new pouches.
-----Sol eyes widen in shock as he turns and regards the mage, "Huh? Try not to kill..." His mouth works silently as he tries to understand Sarah's intentions. Then he spurts out, "Sarah, now ain't the time fer obscurity. Are we gonna tackle the Darkness or not? If ye don't have the means t'deal wi' it, then say so."
-----Seth is still ready to create areas of grease for anyone and everyone to slip over on. He follows along behind Raven and Sol when he becomes confused by Sarah's and Sol's comments. "Um Sol, not to be a stickler or anything but was that 'don't kill humans or elves, but it is ok to kill dark minions' or was it 'Don't kill absolutely anyone including Dark Minions?'"
-----Grimacing at his terrible aim, the Dread Pirate replies to the bearded human, "Arrrr, I be on me own side." Gimplefwick then draws and throws two more daggers at the tussling duo.
-----Dread’s first dagger plunges into the elf’s upper leg. The demi-human staggers as he grasps painfully at his bleeding leg. With his other arm, he desperately fends off a descending chop from the woodsman. Their weapons clang and lock together whereupon the human kicks the wood elf down where he struggles on the ground.
-----The woodsman turns as Gimplefwick throws another dagger at him. Frowning and cursing, he retreats, avoiding the thrown object, with his weapon held out toward the halfling pirate. "Thar be more ‘en these wood elves! Thar be these here pint-sized bandits!" he yells to the other humans.
-----Kazel emerges silently from the bushes behind after a moment or two. "Psst. Hey. Look, how long is it goin' to take to deal with this dark thing? Because that pirate is busy down there getting everyone and himself killed, so we've got to act one way or the other, while we still have the surprise." She takes out her bow and nocks an arrow as she finishes speaking.
-----"Oh bloody flippin' heck!" Sol curses once again, "I guess the Darkness is gonna have to wait. Kazel's right...this has to be stopped. Though not with violence. Put yer arrows away fer the moment, Kaz. If this doesn't work, it'll be clear what to do next."
-----"You got it," Kazel winks, but does not put her bow away. She creeps up behind a good cover, a rock or a tree, and prepares to lay down cover fire for Sol and Gimplefwick, should Sol's speech falls on deaf ears.
-----Sol pushes Thunder forward, and the stallion canters forward. Though he doesn't seem to be riding directly at the battle. Rather he rides in at an angle so that it's clear he isn't charging into the fray. He pulls up about twenty feet away from the combatants, stands up in his stirrups and holds out his arms. Sol then calls out in a loud voice, "HOLD! In the name of Hearthorn and Lord Lambert, and on behalf of those who oppose the Dark...Stand down and lower your weapons."
-----For a moment, the participants on the small battlefield look surprised at the young intruder. The humans seem to back up from their opponents and though they keep their weapons ready, they glance at Sol.
-----The elves likewise give pause to their advance, keeping a wary eye on both Sol and the woodsmen.
-----Seth's eyes suddenly pop open at what Sol has done. He begins to giggle uncontrollably and quickly rummages in his pouch of ingredients for a piece of parchment. When he finds it, he rolls it into a cone. He tries to stop his giggling by making a face. Failing he quickly runs after Sol until he is about five yards behind him.
-----He then concentrates and mumbles some words......
