-----The Dread Pirate, appearing quite pleased with his new footwear, grins at Dalyor, "Aye, it’s safe to come out now. We killed the evil wizards, saved the town, and cured the common cold. Is there nothin we can't do?"
-----He then frowns at the apparently lootless corpse that Seth examined, "Arrr, that’s a shame. Mighty inconsiderate o' that wizard. Well, ye can have first pick o' the next treasure. And ye can always borrow me new boots if'n ye ever feel the need to zip about. Hopefully, Kazel will figure out how that one turned invisible. I'd say it’s the cloak, hopefully the fire didn't damage it. If'n it did, maybe the Lord High Wizard can repair it fer ye when we get back. In the meantime, we'd best be gettin out o' here, like Seth said. And pick up some bows along the way."
-----The Dread Pirate nods at Seth's admonition about their former traveling companions, "Aye, they'll be tough. Fortunately, they're not too bright. We should be able to outsmart 'em fairly easily. Hell, my pony could outsmart that lot." The Dread Pirate pats his pony on the neck, apologizing for insulting it by comparing its vastly superior intelligence to that of Sol or Raven.
-----Gimplefwick’s pony snorts back at the Dread Pirate’s attention and bobs its head in recognition of the magnificent steed that it is. The parrot on the Pirate’s shoulder is tilted backwards still as a result of Gimplefwick’s run.
-----The Dread Pirate goes about hacking at the evil mages' necks and stuffing their heads into a burlap sack. He then hands the sack to Krord, and prepares to take off for the inn, whenever the others are finished looting and cleaning up. He says to Krord, "I think ye can probably just toss that sack into somebody's garbage heap as we walk down the street. That'll probably serve well enough to keep those wizards from gettin up to any of their undead tomfoolery and hijinks."
-----Seth, a little disappointed with his boots, takes them off and puts on his regular ones. He tries to avoid Krord knocking him over again. He looks around. "Well, are we ready to make our way to the inn for some comfort and food?"
-----Kazel tosses Seth a pouch of components and Gimplefwick another black sword. "More of the same. And also a ring and key," she says. "Doubt it's the cloak that's making him invisible, but why not." She tries it on briefly and then turns to Dalyor. "You wouldn't happen to know where they're keeping Woder around? He could be one last person to know where we can find Devlin."
-----The Dread Pirate chortles happily at the acquisition of yet another black longsword and promptly attaches another tag to it, reading, 'Invisible wizard, cheese factory'. He then hangs this new sword off of his saddle and looks at the others, ready to go to the inn. He states, "Hrrmm, whether it’s the cloak or not that causes the invisibility, that wizard's clothing might come in handy later on. I wonder what the key is for? Dalyor, do ye know where these wizards were stayin? Maybe they have a room here in town. They had to sleep somewheres."
-----Seth moves over near Dalyor and whispers to him, "Is there someone in town that might be able to identify some items we have found? We know someone in Hearthorn but we are not sure who to ask here in this town."
-----Nothing appears to happen as Kazel tries on the cloak. Dalyor first responds to her saying, "Nay, I ain’t seen the spooky eyed guy. If’n he ain’t came ta town whiles we was here this past night, he’s wheres ya all seen ‘em last."
-----To the Dread Pirate, Dalyor nods and says to Kazel, "Lemme have a look at that key." After studying the small item for a moment, he says, "Ya lets me check it out n’ I’ll tells ye what’s I be findin’ out later. First I be tellin’ them cheesemakers they can have their buildin’ back."
-----Dalyor looks about at the changes made to the inside of the building and also at the three headless bodies. He adds with a sullen look, "Maybe af’er that I be layin’ low fer a while."
-----To Seth, Dalyor says, still staring around the place, "Aye, I gots a line on somebody’d might identify a few things fer ya. ‘Course it may cost ya."
-----With a sudden look of inspiration, he asks, "Ey, ya suppose I can borrow yer large guard? I can have ‘em throw them wizard bodies in the pit n’ bury ‘em."
-----So it is that the trio mounted up and left with three of the guards while they left Dalyor and Krord to finish ‘setting things back’ in the cheesemaker’s building. Dalyor had promised to come to the Inn as soon as he found out where the key came from.
-----The ride back to the Cloven Inn was enjoyable although the lack of sleep was beginning to tell on them. The town was just beginning to wake up as merchants and traders began to open their stalls and stands in the Market Place. The temperature felt quite warm although a moderate breeze made the air feel comfortable.
-----When they arrive at the Inn, Maime is there at the door to greet them. The delicious smell of breakfast is coming from the main room.
-----The Dread Pirate, still somewhat crisped around the edges from the scorching he took while in the web, opts to go to his room and rest for awhile.
-----Seth greets Maime and states, "We have found our body guards, so I will need two more rooms, two guards to a room, they don't have to be as special as mine." As he watches Dread go up to his room, he indicates Kazel and Dread. "I am not sure if we have organized a room for these two, but they can have rooms as good as mine. Could you please organize us some breakfast in my room for all of us." He smells the air. "It smells wonderful dear Maime, you better send some up to the Halfling's room as well, it may revive him."
-----He looks at Maime and hands her 5 gold pieces. "Here is another advance on the new rooms and food, could you also send up some apples as well?"
-----With that Seth sweeps up to his room with the bodyguards and Kazel hopefully following.
-----"I remember he was rubbing at things before going invisible, so the cloak is in all likelihood just a cloak," Kazel replies to Gimplefwick. To Maime, she indicates that she also would have her own room this time. She then remembers something and asks, "Is there a stable in this inn? I should bring my horse over if so." She looks in the direction of the main room. "After breakfast first, 'course."
-----The Dread Pirate pauses on his way up the stairs to his room, "Alright, but the cloak might still come in handy when we meet our old traveling companions. The sight of one of the 'supposed' wizards might prompt them into a foolish charge over a field of greased caltrops and oil. Meanwhile, the rest of us stay concealed in the brush until they charge into the grease. Then we all open fire on them from a safe distance. If any get close to us, Seth can web them in place. Umm, Seth, you do have the web spell, right? In any case, we can remain concealed while we subdue them. We'll just have to be careful to not kill them accidentally. I'd feel badly if any of 'em were to die. They're incompetent, but well intentioned for the most part."
-----The Dread Pirate continues up to his room, looking forward to getting reacquainted with his loofah.
-----Seth stops partway up the stairs and adds, "Yes, I know the web spell, care of Sarah Night!"
