-----“Be lookin’ sharp,” Strolum says to Pil and Dilton with his red mane projecting ridiculously from under the hobgoblin cap. “That means we may be’a goin’ wit’ Sol t’free th’ children.”
-----“I could go with Lovan,” Jyan says sternly. “Either that or attempt to start a fire on the river side of town before the rest of you attack.”
-----"We wait," came Whisper's quiet words. Then he gestured to himself, and drew his hand abruptly across his throat. "Riders."
-----Raven nods, "Waiting would be wise. I'd rather face off against a drunk foe than a sober one." Raven thinks for a moment, "A fire would be great distraction. Let’s smoke 'em out!"
-----Sol's eyes narrow at Whisper as something crosses through the Gorian's mind. After a moment, he asks gratingly, "Ye think ye can provide an early end t'our 'hated' rider foes?"
-----Whisper's eyes sought the sky as he considered his answer. Leather creaked as he rolled his shoulders, and returned his gaze to his companions.
-----"Some." Another roll of his shoulders. Not quite a shrug. "Then rooftops. Around inn. Not inside." His right hand tapped the quiver at his side. "Need more."
-----“Maybe we could all infiltrate the town dressed as these hobgoblins,” Garrison says, looking at Raven, Rinda and Whisper. “At least some of us could,” he adds when he sees sour looks. “That would get us close to the inn before we try to take it. That would also give us time to cover Whisper while he climbs on its roof.”
-----“I still be a’sayin’ th’ three o’ us wear this here goblin armor,” Strolum chimes in impatiently now looking at his other two warrior friends. Looking over at the Gorian, a look of inspiration comes into his eyes. “Bloody ‘ell!” he exclaims, “betcha them hobgobs be a bit baffled seein’ Master Sol in th’ spiked armor. Might even take ‘em to be a new boss in town!”
-----“Again,” Jyan says hurriedly, “that leaves me and the two priests. If we seek out where the priests of Helator dwell maybe we can surprise them there.” He then looks over toward Jeilin and Lovan.
-----Sol's countenance darkens as he continues to think. Against his desire to keep this purely a lightning raid, the Gorian felt himself believing that the disguise idea may be the safest way in for some of his companions. It may even buy them more time than his other ideas. Looking to Whisper, he starts to speak his final thoughts on the night's task.
-----"Alright Whisper, ye'll be going in first, perhaps an hour or so ahead o' us. Get int' whatever position ye favour, then wait fer our groups t'be inside Ku. Once we're all in, start whatever ye want. Whether ye try something on th' priests, or ye fire something, I don't care. Either way, it'd be great if ye could make sure some sort o' commotion is started. I'm also giving ye an hour, so it gives ye enough time t'get back t'us if things have drastically changed inside th' village."
-----"Strolum, Pil and Dilton will try their damn best t'try their hand at acting like hobgoblins. Jeilin, Jyan, Lovan an' I are going t'be mounted, but you three will have t'walk in. I'll play up on th' new rank in town, wi' Jyan as my mage. Lovan an' Jeilin won't have t'act much, I think. Th' three 'hobgoblins' are my guard."
-----"Whilst we're drawing th' attention from th' immediate guards, Raven, ye take Rinda an' Garrison an' make fer th' inn. See what ye can do there as soon as the excitement starts. Whisper, ye may want t'join them when ye can, but ye may need t'change what yer doing depending on what goes on around ye."
-----"That goes fer us all. This is by far th' most dangerous move we've made, not fer ourselves, that's a given, but fer th' people held captive. They can't help themselves at th' moment, so it's up to us."
-----"If anyone has anything else t'add, now's a good time. Otherwise, we'll wait fer midnight a'fore Whisper heads off, then we'll move th' hour afterwards."
-----Sol turns and walks to the edge of the clearing, still in hearing range if anyone speaks, but feeling introspective enough to seek what solace he can.
-----Whisper looked from face to face, and clapped his hands before speaking softly. "Move camp." His gaze flickered to the Hobgoblin corpses. "Rest." With an easy graceful unfurling, he stood straight. "Long night."
-----He started moving towards where the horses were tethered before stopping, and casting an appraising glance at Raven and Rinda. He patted the quiver at his side again. "Spare?"
-----The Huntress raises her eyebrows in thought and then reaches to the quiver at her side. She hands it over to the wood elf saying, “You might as well take it. I can rely on the Great Hunter to aid me when battle comes.”
-----Whisper can see about a dozen arrows in the quiver.
-----The priestess fusses over her maps, but is apparently listening closely as Sol speaks. As he finishes, she stops and looks up. "I may call on Astron for help in obscuring our movements. But is there a place for us to meet, if we need to regroup?"
-----"Might as well make that here. If it comes to it, I doubt there'll be anywhere in th' village that'd be safe fer that." Sol answers grimly.
-----“We’ll move the camp like Whisper suggests,” Garrison says, looking about the clearing. “Maybe as far from the village as we can and still be covered at least for the horses.” Looking back at the priestess, he says, “That may be the only safe place to meet with all those hobgoblins and orcs around.”
