-----Unexpectedly, Sol's head snaps around to stare grimly at the Lord Marshall. His voice grates, hinting at buried anger, "Scoundrels is it? Ye've got enough t'answer fer, fer yer own conduct, so keep yer name calling t'yerself."
-----The Gorian's head passes back to Rushfen's ruler, and his tone modifies again to one more polite, "Sorry fer that. No disrespect was ever intended t'ye lady, let alone any harm. It simply was never about you." Sol glances briefly at Sarah as he says that.
-----"Please!" Sarah says with enough force to draw the attention of all present. "If you are truly here to see for my well being respect my wishes and listen to me now. As far as I have seen we are all acting with the best intentions. If we begin to fight amongst ourselves it will be disastrous for there is true evil that even now threatens the people of Ravenhold."
-----"There is no need to insult and put down each other. Now let us see if we can conduct ourselves like gentlemen and ladies."
-----"I do not know if you have met each other yet, but this is my birth mother, Lady Evalyn Ryn-Volquist." Sarah extends a hand towards her natural mother. "And her stalwart defender Lord Marshall Lone."
-----"This is Sol Herron, Raven, Rinda, Garrison, Lovan, Lord Wizard Zepharon, and Veil. Please forgive me I have not yet made the acquaintance of your new companions, Raven." Sarah says apologetically.
-----Inside Sarah is leaping with joy over Sol's description of herself as 'his business.' She knows it is one of the sweetest things he will say in public. But she, as always, keeps her feelings inside until the situation is under control.
-----"Now, shall we convene to a room that has accommodations for us all where we can discuss plans as a group?" She is mostly asking Lady Evalyn, trusting that her companions will do what they know is right.
-----The red-haired man behind Raven looks as if he is about to say something, but then the bronze-skinned man with him nudges him into remaining silent.
-----"Yes, very well, it is a good idea," Lady Evalyn says with a smile toward Sarah, "You show the wisdom needed as an heir of Rushfen, my daughter. Let us all meet here in the inner chamber."
-----Lady Evalyn then leads everyone into the room beyond the waiting chamber, a large audience chamber with the raised dais at the far end.
-----Everyone follows silently though suspicious glances are thrown about. Zepharon leads Veil in with his arms around her, quietly comforting her, saying, "It will be all right. You will see."
-----The Lady Seer takes her place upon her chair on the dais. She motions for Sarah to join her and the Lord Marshall takes a position just below the dais's raised steps. When everyone is standing before her, Lady Evalyn says, "Since we seem to be speaking of more than personal business, it would be wise to ask Lord Howrun and his advisors to be here." She then nods to the Lord Marshall who in turn silently calls forth one of the guards.
-----For a few moments, Lone gives his guard silent instructions and then the guard hurries out to deliver his message.
-----Lovan looks about the place with a somewhat disgusted look. His movements seem to be closely watched by the remaining guards.
-----This gives the companions a few moments to speak.
-----Raven follows behind Sol and Sarah. Raven nods a hello to Sarah and flashes her a smile, but says nothing. Raven's gaze then falls on the Lord Marshall. He snarls a bit, but he holds in check his anger.
-----Raven looks around the room at all the people here and shakes his head. "Fiddle while your town burns," Is all that Raven says to Rinda.
-----Sol keeps himself quiet for now, content to wait on when the moment would unfold fully. The Gorian often looks up to where Sarah stands, continually trying to gauge how she feels.
-----"Raven, is there something you wish to discuss?" Sarah said with a bit of venom in her voice. She was not in the mood for cryptic poetry, and often found it ironic that those who professed a distaste for civilization were more than willing to waste time lounging around in it.
-----Sol looks up at this, glancing from Raven then back to Sarah. The corner of his mouth tilts slightly, as if he was about to speak but changed his mind.
-----Raven snaps back, "Yeah like what the hell is going on here for start. We are prisoners here in this town. The city guards follow us around like we are the enemy. At this point..." Raven stops and take a breath, "I don't take kindly of being kept in the dark and then snipped at by a 'friend'."
-----Raven's face turns cold and Raven glances to the door he came in.
-----"Whereas I am expected to leap for joy at your ego and secrets?" Sarah says back to Raven, not looking away for a second. "Lady Evalyn, what say you to Raven's accusations?" Sarah has clearly decided that since nobody else has the guts for it she is taking charge of this situation. She knows Raven despises civilization and polite conversation as a general rule, but she wonders why the man can't see that being kept in the dark and then 'snipping' at a friend is exactly what he is doing to her at the moment.
