-----After raising his mighty sword high and reflecting the lightning, Sol quickly parried three of his attackers. Just as violently, he threw them back, striking two down and widening the circle about him.
-----A wild cry is heard as Garrison dashes up upon the soldiers on the outside of the circle. He swings savagely with a sword and the hobgoblins fall back from him in surprise. He fells one soldier with a weighted stab.
-----At that moment, Lovan rides into the crowd of hobgoblins scattering them further. He reaches over with his warhammer and clobbers a soldier over the head with it.
-----With a loud neigh, Thunder seemingly comes out of nowhere and rears up just a few yards from Sol. The heavy warhorse kicks out with its front hooves critically wounding another soldier.
-----More of the dwindling hobgoblin horde seems more in disarray as fighting breaks out with those who followed Sol into camp. Many of the soldiers that are not yet engaged in battle look about uncertainly.
-----After surveying the fighting, Jyan begins walking off toward the inn.
-----Raven emerges from the barn and carefully looks across the field to the north. Through the flashes of lightning he squints looking for any hobgoblin patrols that might be lurking out there. Seeing nothing, he draws his two short swords and edges around the corner of the building, intending on peering at the chaos toward the center of the village.
-----As he moves along the large outer wall of the barn, he can tell the sounds of battle have diminished somewhat. As he reaches the corner of the barn, he hears growling voices and the sound of hurrying soldiers heading this way. Raven quickly crouches down and awaits his prey.
-----Their flickering shadows reveal that they are three hobgoblin soldiers either up to no good or running out on the battle. As soon as they round the corner, Raven springs into action! Immediately, two of the guards fall dead from the strike of the twin swords. The third is just as quickly taken out.
-----Suddenly, another great boom of thunder mixed with a violent bright flash of lightning strikes nearby. Raven recognizes that the storm priest must be having the time of his life amid the goblinoid camp. Peering around the building, the Hunter sees many of the hobgoblins running from the center of the village square as if routed. Just a handful of soldiers remain there engaging Sol, Lovan, Garrison, Strolum and Pil in combat.
-----Over the next few moments, Raven sees his friends in the distance overthrow the last few soldiers who stand against them. He also recognizes another figure who joins them. It appears to be Dilton and the others gather toward him while keeping an eye on their surroundings.
-----Dashing out from among the trees that line the road that runs along the village square, Whisper sees a very chaotic situation emerging in front of him. Off to the right side of the inn, he sees many of the hobgoblin tents there smoldering in the down pouring rain. Amid the lightning flashes, fighting is taking place there. A few of the bonfires are lit, but are slowly losing their illumination in the precipitation.
-----Whisper can tell that Sol is in battle with a small troop of soldiers, while the crazed storm priest had ridden into the fray. A few others, two of the warrior companions, join the fighting still dressed in their hobgoblin disguises.
-----Near the barn, Whisper can now see the other priestess, the one named Jeilin, mounted and watching the fighting with the third guard companion. The mage, Jyan, is silently walking toward the inn. The hobgoblins who guarded the barn seemed to have been disposed of.
-----It made for a strange tableau. The fray juxtaposed with the eerie calm of the inn, and barn.
-----The Wood Elf tapped the blade of his shortsword against his leg, and then set off after the mage. Beneath his scarf, his face wore a grimace.
