-----Toward the time when the setting sun's rays rise just over the top of Silvergard's forests and the orcs' bonfire is ready to be lit, Rinda returns. As her avian form touches down close to Raven, the huntress takes her true form. Even though she still suffers from her injuries in the battle that day, she appears to be less in pain.
-----"The orcs do wait for nightfall," she says quickly glancing back to the ridge over which the stronghold lies. "They curse the troop that has not returned and they fear what may have happened." Looking at Raven, she adds, "I did find out that they have somewhere in their castle some kind of special troop. I got the feeling it is something more than orcs."
-----Raven says with a slight smile, "Special troops, huh? Sound good, if our trap works we could take out that troop a bit easier if we had attacked the keep itself." Raven looks at the dead orc camp they had put together, "The Hunter's trap is set, now lets see what we catch."
-----Raven scratches his head, "When should we light the fire? Right before night fall so the orcs will see the smoke?"
-----"Sounds fine." Sol comments as he adjusts the rather fragrant orc cloak he now wears. He did not adjust the helmet again, like he had been doing for the last twenty minutes. No amount of shifting could compensate for a differently structured head, the Gorian glumly decided.
-----Sarah is purposely standing upwind of anyone who is wearing orcish clothing. "I thought orcs could see in the dark. Wouldn't lighting a fire just let them know that it is an ambush?" She asks Sol and Raven.
-----"I'm guessing even an orc'll light a fire t'keep warm, or more likely, t'cook a meal. Maybe we can have something nice an' tasty roasting t'add t'our wee scheme." Sol counters.
-----Raven glances around and says with a grim voice, "How about an orc leg? I know it is...a bit twisted, but they're already dead and it would look more 'real'."
-----Raven look uncomfortable stating his idea, but is driven to make sure the trap will work.
-----"Somehow, I don't think they'll be too bothered by whatever's cooking, so that could work . . . " Sol smiles back at the hunter, if only a little weakly.
-----This time Sarah's hand on her stomach actually is there to keep the mage from being sick, and another dainty hand covers the blonde girl's mouth as the mage fears she might gag for a moment. "That is revolting."
-----Sarah says with true feeling after a few seconds have passed, "I won't have anything to do with this." Sarah walks a good couple of yards away from the others so she does not have to see Raven mutilate orcs. While Sarah does have a moral objection, it is more that she finds touching orcs to be disgusting. She knows she will come across as being a bit stuck up, but she cannot help herself.
-----She finds Rinda and says, "Rinda you should have let me known what you were planning, I could have come with you." The mage says with a friendly smile, trying her best not to think about what Raven is doing.
-----After Raven watches Sarah leave, he starts the task of cutting off one of the dead orc's legs. Raven uses an axe from one of the dead orcs. Raven brings down the heavy axe on the hip joint of the orc. As he wrestles the axe free for another swing, Raven looks up at their orc prisoner and gives him a slight smile. Raven says something to the orc and then takes another swing cutting the leg free from the body.
-----Rinda returns Sarah's smile and says, "I will next time. What magic is it you have?"
-----The orc suddenly raises up into a sitting position with a murderous glare in its eyes toward Raven. The wolf quickly moves around in front of the humanoid growling lowly. It then leans back away from the animal although it still looks angry.
-----"'Ey, but he don' be lookin' none too happy now, does he?" Strolum says with a slight smile as he turns his attention away from the ring of orc bodies positioned around the campfire.
-----"Nor would you," Lovan grumbles, "after toiling long enough with their stink on the air." The storm priest glares at the orcs and mutters, "We should burn them. Better to offer them to the Rager than to smell them."
-----Sarah's eyes sparkle at Rinda. "I learned a spell that can transform me into any type of animal I wish. I have turned myself into an owl many times, but never in the wilderness, only in my father's tower."
-----To Lovan, the mage says, "Think, priest. If anything will tell the 'special forces' that there is an ambush here I would think that a gigantic funeral pyre of their dead allies would probably be it. If we are going to burn the bodies we should wait until after the attack."
-----To Raven, Sarah says softly, "Are you keeping that orc alive for any reason? I think we've learned all we can from him." The mage feels it would be more humane at this point to end the orc's life.
