-----As Sol moves forward into the gap created by Raven, the Gorian swings down at the orc who missed him so badly. Unmindful of whether his blow does the job or not, he then wields the Lathanian blade against those ahead, wanting to widen the path further.
-----Raven looks around to see what caused the magic spear to appear.
-----"Caranip! No!" Sarah shouts. "Get back here right now!" Seeing no indication of her apprentice returning, Sarah leaps off Marlexana and runs after the gnome.
-----Above the continuing battle, a large round platform of torches suspended like a rustic chandelier, begins to sway and rock on the ropes that holds it. Suddenly, it falls straight to the floor off to the right where the line of Sol, Raven and the cat creature make their advance. About a half dozen orcs take the full blunt of the wooden chandelier, dropping their polearms and collapsing under the weight. The orcs around it are momentarily disoriented as they recover from the shock of the falling object.
-----At the same time, Sol strikes the orc next to him, sending it to the floor bleeding critically.
-----With a left and then a right thrust, Raven widens Sol's path as he slashes away two more humanoids.
-----Raven's wolf clamps down tighter with its jaws. With a loud crack, the orc's neck snaps and the wolf leaps toward other prey.
-----During another flurry in the fight, Sol slashes the life from another orc and then quickly parries another spear searching for the young warrior.
-----Raven, likewise, throws another orc down, choking on its own blood. The hunter then looks up and sees another armored orc at the top of the stairway guarded by three soldiers. This orc has a black patch covering one eye and it watches the path of the magical spear intently.
-----The cat rakes its claws savagely across an orc's face and then misses it as it tries to grab the soldier in its jaws. Suddenly another spear jabs in and stabs the cat's ribs, injuring it! The cat growls angrily in pain.
-----An orc tries to chop at Lovan, but misses the storm priest. Lovan retaliates with a wild swing of his hammer, but the weapon misses his attacker.
-----Garrison smiles weakly as a rushing orc tries to slash at him. The humanoid suddenly loses its grasp on its weapon as it steps across the blood slick stones.
-----The cat tries to strike at those in front of it, but misses. The orcs remain wary and a few actually take a step backwards.
-----By now, Sarah has reached the doorway, peering into the chaotic shadowy interior. Over to her left, she sees the companions that she has known the longest still engaged in a heated battle. Even though a few dozen of the enemy remains, the orcs look as though they may soon give way. In front of her, Garrison and Lovan face off with a few approaching humanoids, while behind the troops in the middle, other humanoids try to maneuver around the downed chandelier.
-----Off to her right along the shadowy wall, Sarah catches a glimpse of her apprentice letting go of the stones in the wall as her feet touch the floor. A few feet above the gnome's head is a mounted securing bracket, which has rope tied around it. The rope now hangs loosely as the other end, which held something aloft, has been cut. In Caranip's mouth is a dagger, which the gnome puts into a sheath within her vest.
-----Suddenly, the magical spear comes flying in and stabs the large cat firmly in the side. A long moan of pain escapes the cat, who is obviously hurt!
-----With a very loud thud, Garrison plants the blade of his massive battleaxe into the face of his foe. The orc quickly falls, further messing the floor.
-----"Caranip!" Sarah snaps, with her hands on her hips. "That was very smart! And stupid!" She says without realizing how silly that sounds. "Don't run off into a fight without me again!!!" Sarah can't help but feel a bit motherly towards her diminutive apprentice.
-----Sarah turns to look up the stairs and sees the orcs trying to flank the team. She aims magic missiles at the orcs in front of Sol hoping to open up a gap he can get through. "Sol, I don't know how much longer the big one will be stuck! Get to him as fast as you can!" Sarah urges him.
-----Sol did hear his name called, though only faintly, not because of the clamour of battle, but the roaring in his mind. Sarah's following tone wasn't of enough urgency to break the flow of his battle. It was fortunate that the held commander was already the target of Sol's attack. Or he would be after several ranks of enemies were dealt with. As such, the Stormbringer continued his assault in a direct path the plate-wearing one.
-----Raven shoots the one-eyed orc a dark hateful look. Raven's blade strikes out again at the orcs in front of him. He takes a moment to flash a rude hand gesture at the one-eyed orc.
-----The magical spear flashes toward the cat once again, but this time it misses as the cat rolls to its right.
