-----"I had some of the soldiers keeping watch inside the tavern," Xavia replies to Kazel, "that is how we were alerted to your approach." Pointing to a door on the south wall, the paladin explains, "We can access the tavern building there."
-----Amdracks climbs down out of the wagon as Krord gently lifts the little girl and sets her down. The girl then moves over toward Kazel and slips her hand in the half-elven girl's. For a moment, Xavia's eyebrows lift and a sense of compassion comes over her face. "You have a child with you," she says softly as if thinking out loud.
-----The mage priest seems surprised as the attention is suddenly focused on him. As Xavia looks at him, the fleeting compassion fades, replaced with the stern purposeful expression.
-----"Uhm, well, . . . yes," Amdracks says explaining though he looks at the Dread Pirate as he talks, "As I explained earlier, it would sound as if those you met paid reverence to the deity of death and plagues. As for handling the plague, I do not know if it can be dealt with as a simple disease or a curse."
-----"A Priest of Ora?" the one named Abram questions, "Sir Greene will be interested to know one of the Magic Temple has chosen to accompany you." The guard looks neutrally at the trio.
-----Sensing a growing tension, Xavia raises her hand and says, "The next order is to determine whether we all wait here until morning or take an offensive action to the evil ones this very night."
-----The Dread Pirate scowls as Abrams speaks yet again and responds with, "You and Sir Greene can go pound sand. We have more important things at stake here than yer expressing yer lofty opinions."
-----Dread then turns back to the paladin, "I fer one say we plan quickly and strike tonight. By daylight those werebeasts will probably have vanished or we won't be able to tell who they are. The night is their friend, but if we strike them when they think they're at their most powerful, we may catch them by surprise and wipe them out. On the other hand, if we wait until just before sunrise we may be able to track the ones that we wound back to their lair, assuming that the wounded ones try to run. We might be able to root out the source of 'em that way and finish 'em once and fer all. I don't imagine ye really want to leave these parts without at least attemptin to eradicate the evil here. Besides, if any of us were to move on from here without destroying the beasts, they'd be able to attack us when we're out in the open and even more vulnerable. So I say we wait until before dawn and then strike."
-----Seth finally climbs out of the wagon and looks at Xavia. "You do know Nylan, don't you? He is the kind of guy to fight his way through, destroy all of the beasts and be in time for breakfast. With Sir Slappy he might even drag back a few miscreants of the hairy sort for judicial process." He now raises his eyebrows. "But even Nylan may be struck down by a stray fang. Why don't we all get clean, I am sure there is a bath here and then hunt down these beasts!"
-----He then looks at the guards who obviously have been poisoned by others of ill intent. "Do you have a problem with the priests of Ora?"
-----Kazel dismisses Abram's remarks without a glance, "He's only the third priest of Ora we know. And we're not interested in Sir Greene."
-----She gently pats the girl's shoulder as she says to the others, "We can put up traps and snares in any case, so we can wait or retreat behind them whether we choose to attack or not."
-----At the paladin's direction, the two guards from Oakwood remain silent.
-----Xavia frowns as she says, "A good thought, but what kind of trap or snare will be effective on these werecreatures?"
-----Looking at Seth, Xavia says, "As we did for you, we will keep a watch for any that approach this village. As for bathing, I do not recommend any other activity right now other than looking out for each other's safety."
-----Finally turning to face the Dread Pirate once again, she says, "I do find merit in the idea of waiting toward dawn before acting. We will have a bit more light and perhaps the beasts will be less alert."
-----The Dread Pirate thinks for a bit, then says, "Well, as fer the traps, they might not be able to bite if'n they aren't trapped with silver or enchanted weapons. But they don't necessarily need to be able to injure the werebeasts. A noose trap will still catch anything that's caught in it and should at least slow down whatevers caught in it. It might not injure the beast, but it should slow it down, possibly giving us a better chance to dispatch it."
-----Seth shrugs then adds, "Well if we are going out at dawn, I will get some rest now." He returns to the wagon and settles down for some study and then rest.
