-----A fluttering overhead interrupts their thoughts and as they look up, the rogues see Albert perching in a high tree.
-----After transversing a few fallen logs, the rogues carefully climb the opposite slope. Near the top, Marast freezes, his bow drawn as he aims ahead. There at the top of the slope, the hill is lined with shrubbery plants. There is movement behind one of the bushes, which quickly stops.
-----The Dread Pirate chortles at the sight of something moving at the crest of the hill, saying, "Hah! These werewolves aren't that canny after all. Ye never move along the top of a hill. Ye silhouette yerself fer all to see against the skyline. And nothin attracts the eye like motion. Well, let's sneak over there and see what we can see."
-----As everyone moves a bit closer a slight stirring occurs in the shrubs. The movement appears to come from the bottom of the bushes and a crackling is heard as if twigs are being crunched.
-----Marast keeps his bow drawn and his arrow aimed on the spot. In the next moment, a small animal steps out through the bushes. Looking much like a groundhog, it sniffs the air. Long sharp quills cover its back.
-----The Dread Pirate looks doubtfully at the creature, then says, "Maybe it's a werebadger. A quilled werebadger. It seems fairly innocuous though. I say we ignore it and press on."
-----Marast studies the ground and motions for everyone to remain quiet. He squats down alertly and sights along the ground. He then carefully crawls toward the shrub line at the top of the hill and motions the rogues to follow.
-----The little quilled animal sniffs once and then waddles back through the brush.
-----When the trio is close to the wood elf, he whispers out of the corner of his mouth, "Tracks very new." He then pokes his arrow through a bush and parts the thick stems in order to look ahead. After a few moments, Marast eases the bush back and tells the rogues, "Marast see small house."
-----Seth gets a worried look on his face. As he turns a bit pale, he asks Marast, "It didn't look like it had a corn demon dwelling there, did it?"
-----The Dread Pirate peers warily at the house for several moments, then says, "If'n it's the werewolf house, they're probably all sleepin after bein up all night killin folks. Let's sneak up on it and see if anybody's home."
-----The rogues then quietly push their way through the brush. Just ahead a few yards lies a small cottage with its outer walls weather stained and dark. The windows appear to have their shutters locked over the openings. No sound comes from the inside that would indicate anything or anyone is in there.
-----Nonetheless, the four continue their movement toward the dwelling. Halfway there, a twig snaps underneath Seth's foot. The musician looks nervously about as he pauses to see if the noise draws any reaction. Everything in the surrounding forest appears normal with the only movement being those of birds overhead.
-----When they are just a few feet in front of the door, Marast pauses to see what the others want to do.
-----"Well, let's start to nose around the place," Kazel says as she slips on the ring and starts to peek in the windows.
-----Marast keeps his bow drawn and he steps back to keep the front of the cottage covered. As the Dread Pirate and Kazel closely circle the house, Seth stays frozen in one spot carefully fingering a few components in his hands.
-----Quietness settles over the area as the birds seem to dart from the trees overhead and scatter off in different directions. Suddenly within the closed up structure comes a low menacing growl.
-----Seth waits for someone else to move forward, and decides on some old silken threads and puts away the sand but keeps the pig fat close to the top of his components file. IT did not appear the sleep spell worked particularly well last night where as the web was effective.
-----Suddenly from the wooden structure comes the sound of wood bursting, unfortunately similar to the sound the rogues had heard the night before. With that a slight rain of splinters and bits of wood fall down on the rogues closest to the house.
-----Just as the Dread Pirate looks up, he sees a fierce wolven creature on top of the building's roof roaring down at him.
-----With a shout of surprise, Marast aims his arrow at the beast, but as he readies to let go, he looses his grip on the weapon. The elf frantically moves as he fumbles with both his bow and arrow.
-----The werewolf leaps down at the halfling pirate and as it lands in a crouched position, it rakes a claw across Gimplefwick's chest opening a fresh wound there.
-----The door to the cottage slams open and another werecreature emerges glaring at the half-elven musician.
