-----Tapping the two rings as they float in the air, the Lord Wizard listens to the high tinkling sound they emit. "This one ring is enchanted for protection," he says indicating one that falls into his left hand, "and this one seems to be able to control the mammal creatures of the world." As the other falls into his right hand, he offers the two to whoever will take them.
-----With the two potions left, Zepharon examines the clear liquid in one container. Dabbing a bit on his finger and tasting it, the wizard nods with pleasant and surprising satisfaction. "Ah, a potion of sweet water. Not really for drinking but to make contaminated liquid, even poisons, drinkable," he says.
-----After testing the red liquid, the Lord Wizard looks warily at Sol. With feign concern on his face, he holds it up with a warning look in his eyes. "This potion will allow the imbiber to read the surface thoughts of any creature nearby. All respectable gentlemen will be fairly warned to think pleasant thoughts if our fair ladies choose to employ its magic."
-----The Lord Wizard then pauses for reactions.
-----Sol smiles politely at the Lord Wizard's last identification and grins as he quips, "Then perhaps those ladies had best warn us gentleman a'fore one happens t'use it." The Gorian makes no move to claim any of the items and instead patiently waits for his companions to start catching up with Lord Howrun's procession. Either that or he was more interested in watching the items be directed by Lord Zepharon's magic.
-----Raven nods and then says, "Thank you, Lord Zepharon. If it is all right with everyone, I'd like to take the rings, one for Rinda and other for myself. The rest I have no need for, including Krondor's sword. I'll stick to my short swords." Raven then takes the ring of protection and gives it to Rinda. The ring of mammal control Raven keeps.
-----"That's fine with me, Raven. Romney? Garrison? Any use fer Krondor's blade? Th' sword I hold has served me well an' supposedly enchanted too if I was able t'hurt th' werewolves, so one o' ye must have some use fer Krondor's." Sol says after Raven has put forth his claim.
-----Rinda looks at the ring suspiciously and then places it on her finger after getting a nod from Raven.
-----"Thank you, Sol," Romney answers, "but I would have no use for that scoundrel's sword."
-----Likewise, Garrison passes the weapon up, saying, "A battle-axe is more my style, though from these last few battles, I could sure use more practice."
-----That being said, the Lord Wizard nods and lifts off his feet until he stands in the air at the same head height as his daughter. He leans toward her as she sits elegantly on Marlexana and embraces her. He then asks her, "Is there anything else a proud father can do for his beautiful daughter?"
-----Sol dismounts and collects the remainder of the objects and hands them over to Sarah, including the bracers and the two potions. He then picks up Krondor's sword and slips it between Thunder's saddlebags, commenting as he does so, "A sword is a tool, Romney, only th' wielder is corrupted. Still, until someone else claims it, I'll carry it along as backup." Sol pauses and frowns as he considers the blackened blades used by some of Devlin's cronies and realises he may have not been completely correct in what he said considering his own unwillingness to go near them.
-----The warrior then shrugs; that's a discussion for another day. Xyl awaits. A graceful leap lands Sol in his golden stallion's saddle and settles once more to wait for his companions.
-----Sarah gracefully accepts what Sol gives her and clamps on the bracers. She moves her wrists and admires how they reflect the light. The potions she tucks into her backpack.
-----When Zepharon floats up to her, Sarah embraces him tightly. "I would like to talk to you," She says quietly and tenderly. "Alone, sometime. It's been too long." She rests her head on her father's shoulder, not caring if she appears soft in front of the various warriors.
-----Lord Zepharon smiles and nods as Sarah hugs him. He takes her hand as she sits up on Marlexana again and turns toward the waiting warriors.
-----"Sol, Raven, you are in charge as protectors and representatives of the Court of Hearthorn," he says to the two heroes. "Lord Lambert will be fully informed, if he has not been so already, of the fulfillment of your mission. There is no doubt that he will be pleased with the efficient and the heroic manner that you and your companions have conducted yourselves in."
-----"I now ask you leave of myself. Sarah feels the need to confer with me and I shall return her to you very shortly. I will then see you again in a few days when you are in Rushfen. Fare thee well!"
-----With that, the Lord Wizard, Sarah and the wondrous horse, Marlexana vanish amidst glowing bubbles and motes of blue magical energy.
-----Before the heroes and their group lays the gigantic body of the defeated dragon. Behind them, the last of the Silvergardian troops are heard moving toward the eastern trees following Lord Howrun.
