-----Raven says to Garrison, "Yes, welcome to the group. We'll have to talk later about anything odd about these woods I should know about. But that can wait for now."
-----Raven turns to Sol, "Yes, let's see if I can spot their cart tracks." Raven mounts his horse and heads off to the teamster's area.
-----Garrison retrieves his own horse, a healthy looking animal with a gray coat. Smiling, he tells Sarah, "I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell you much more 'bout yer animal than you already know. She is a beautiful horse, though."
-----"That she is." Sarah says as she mounts up.
-----The newest member of the party then follows everyone as they ride behind Raven. Once they reach the edge of the teamster's farm, the ranger dismounts looking for signs of their prey and cart tracks.
-----Raven inspects the area for a minute. The group can tell from his snarl and the curses he is muttering under his breath that it is not going well.
-----After a good ten minutes, Raven returns to the group. Raven says, "No good. Too many tracks here. I can't see where they went." Raven gets back on his horse. "At least we know where they're headed. So if we find Krondor, we'll find the thieves we hunt." Raven turns to Garrison, "Have you heard of this Krondor we seek?"
-----"Raven, maybe if we head out o' town a small way, you can check again. There's bound t'be less tracks, or at least they'd be more spread out. That way ye may be able to find tracks o' someone yer familiar with, an' not just th' wagon." Sol suggests.
-----Raven nods, "Great idea Sol."
-----"Krondor?" Garrison asks as he mulls the name around in his mind. Finally he shakes his head and says, "No, I can't say I've heard the name."
-----Bradley speaks up saying, "The little girl did say that she saw whoever looked like Sol headed back toward the tavern. Perhaps if he was with a group, they mounted up from there."
-----The entire party then heads down the road that leads through the middle of the village. Grute doesn't appear to have a village square of any sort although there are many scattered buildings and homes that line the trail road. Among the scattered places are clumps of trees and small ponds. A few citizens of this small village are seen working in the small mushy fields beside the farmhouses.
-----They pass another small tavern and a bowyer's workshop. After passing a few more small buildings housing craft people of different sorts, they see that south of the village the road forks. One trail leads to the south and the other leads to the southwest. Situated between the two forks in the road is another farm with animals and wagons much like the teamster's at the other end of the village.
-----Here, Raven jumps down and immediately sets to work searching the ground. His manner begins to show that this time he may have found his quarry. The wolf sniffs the ground and begins to skip along with his master reflecting his excitement.
-----Raven looks around the area and starts to frown. Raven pauses for a minute and then crouches down to inspect some tracks closer. Slowly a slight smile appears on Raven's face. Raven looks towards the southwest and then returns to the group. "I found the tracks of a pony and cart traveling together. They went off towards the southwest."
-----Raven gets back on his horse, "We're off!" With that Raven starts off after the tracks.
-----"Any idea how old those tracks are?" Sarah asks. "I'd really like to fly ahead and..." Her heart sinks as she thinks of what has happened every other time she tried to do something by herself, "Actually, nevermind." She says.
-----Raven looks back and smiles at Sarah, "With those mercs with 'em, I agree with ya. No flying targets for 'em."
-----An absent nod accompanies and an eager grin given by Sol shows the warrior's pleased to be moving again.
-----"I'd say this road will lead us directly to the Town of Redmarsh," Romney says as everyone starts off down the trail road.
-----As they leave the last of the small houses and farms behind, the trail bows out to lead them to the southwest. For at least two miles surrounding them are wide-open plains. In the distance at about three miles they see the tall slender leafless trees of a swampy area. It looks as though they could pass this place in a little while.
