-----"Okay, except fer th' taking Marast t'Oakwood. That'd only slow them down. We should take him back t'Redmarsh an' hand him over there." Sol says.
-----"Nay, I hate to say again," Romney says after some thinking to Sol, "He was among those who committed a crime in Oakwood. He should be returned there and besides," the guard pauses as he looks at the town, "I do not know how well Sir Zantar can look after his own."
-----Abram nods expressionless at Romney's words while Bradley looks uncertainly at the haughty elf.
-----Suddenly Marast cocks his head in a strange way. He begins to blink his eyes as if clearing his eyesight. Although he appears disoriented for the moment, he begins to clutch tighter on his bow.
-----"Marast, I am sorry fer what ye just went through, but ye were lying after all so I won't spend time worrying about it." Sol says calmly, all traces of discomfort faded away. "Yer going t'Oakwood like yer were originally, but this time in th' company o' two guards. First I want ye t'hand me yer weapons, without trying t'stick me with them." Sol holds out his left hand as he waits for the elf to hand him weapons.
-----Romney and Abram close in a bit on Marast as it is apparent the elf is regaining control over his facilities. Marast looks around with an uncertain expression. His gaze last falls on the young warrior in front of him with an outstretched hand. For a moment, everyone remains on edge seeing what the demi-human will do. Marast then eases the tension on the bow and hands its over to Sol.
-----Sol then asks him to dismount and to allow himself to be searched. A flame rages in the elf's eyes and he sets his jaw defiantly. Marast says nothing but makes no movement other than to cross his arms.
-----Bradley, Abram and Romney dismount quickly with Bradley and Abram drawing their weapons. Romney reaches up and grabbing the elf's arm, hauls Marast out of his saddle. The elf lithely lands on his feet but offers no resistance. The trio then relieves Marast of his short sword. Nothing else of interest is found on the captive elf.
-----Abram and Bradley then take to their saddles with Abram saying to Sol, "In half a week we shall meet you here at the Town of Redmarsh. Hopefully, by then, we shall see an improvement."
-----As Romney motions Marast to climb back into his saddle, Bradley says, "We shall make him in charge of the three horses he has. That should keep him occupied on our journey."
-----Sol nods his thanks to the two guards and advises, "Make as much haste as ye can, but try an' time it so ye don't spend th' evening in th' village wi' th' suspected werewolves. No risks fer th' two o' ye, agreed?"
-----The warrior then chuckles lightly as he adds, "An' try t'avoid letting Rau'Triel hold ye fer too long, you know he'll want t'question ye all on everything if he catches ye through Visp."
-----"Make sure yer escort behaves himself. Ye also both know what t'report t'Sir Greene and whichever priesthood ends up coming south, so th' only other thing I can think t'say is good luck, and may th' winds speed yer journey." Sol reaches out to clasp the forearms of both guards and even nods to Marast in a gesture of parting.
-----Raven says to the two guards, "Safe journey. May the Hunter keep your path safe." Raven looks towards the elf, "I'm glad we were able to settle this without bloodshed. You showed courage and kept your wits about you. That impressed me. I can see why Dread hired you. So you know, I hold no ill will towards you. I hope the same can be said of you towards us."
-----With that Raven mounts up and looks ready to head towards Nox.
-----Atop his saddle, Marast turns and looks at Sol and Raven. He replies to them with the same stern frown but utters no words.
-----Bradley and Abram offer their farewells and then set off up the trail road that had brought them to Redmarsh. They urge Marast in between them where the elf manages the other two riderless horses on each side of him.
-----In the distance, Bradley can be heard lecturing the elf on proper horse handling. The elf remains silent, his attention focused on the way ahead with an occasional shake of his head.
-----Sarah sighs and looks around as if she could find some sort of answer in the clouds. She was not at all happy with the way the situation had worked out. In her opinion she was more than capable of talking with another mage by herself. Talking, yes, that's all she had intended to do. But who else could understand how much magic meant to her? Maybe her father...Sarah snaps out of her train of thought and waits for Sol and Raven to decide what to do as they have made it very clear she has no say in the decision making.
-----"Hmm...The southeast trail then. We're not going t'be travelling at th' pace we have been lately. I don't want t'either spend th' night in Nox, or reach Krondor's keep in th' morning." Once he's sure that everyone is ready, Sol starts off in the direction of the trail that leads to Nox.
