-----Sol watches the plant dissolve in fascination as he replies to Garrison in the sort of tone that belies fading stress, "Neither I'd say. I saw it as necessity. Th' hedges and bushes ye were hiding behind were hardly going t'stop th' dragon. I was hoping t'distract it while ye all made fer th' treeline."
-----Sol then turns to his newest companion with an answering grin, "As it stands, I much prefer th' result of ye all sticking around. That was worth every second."
-----The Gorian then swivels Thunder around as he turns to regard the dragon, "Good work everyone, this beast never knew what hit it. Now that it's dead, it doesn't seem as big as the types they tell of in stories. Is it young, or is every bard over exaggerating too much?" Sol stares at the fallen creature for some time.
-----Marlexana trots up next to Thunder and Sarah stares at the dragon open-mouthed. "Dra..dra...dea..." She stammers, not believing what she and her friends just did. Suddenly she gets an insanely happy look on her face. The nimbus of magical light around her flickers off.
-----"Thank you Destine!!!" Sarah yells up to the sky. "Sol! We just killed a dragon!!! Can you believe it?!?" Sarah throws her arm around the Gorian warrior's waist, still in her saddle. "I love you!" She kisses the warrior on the cheek. She leans back down and stares into his face with a fanatical intensity. "We gotta find its treasure horde! We gotta find its treasure horde! Dragons always have magic mirrors and spellbooks and secrets of ancient ruins and swords of godly might! We gotta go! Now! Oh I've been waiting for this since I first read about it when I was four years old...C'mon!!!"
-----Sarah looks around for where a treasure horde might possibly be hidden, the excitement on her face is unrivaled by any look the young mage has ever had before.
-----"Squawk???" A confused owl pokes his head out of Sarah's backpack, the intense emotional responses from Sarah have wakened her little familiar prematurely. It starts to circle around Sarah's head, confused. "We gotta find the treasure, Chessie!" Sarah says to her little owl, absently reaching for the pouch of beef jerky she always carries to feed the owl.
-----Sarah replies to Garrison, "He's absolutely and undoubtedly the bravest and craziest man alive!" The goofy grin she shoots Sol is full of love.
-----Sol sighs dramatically as he considers the fact that he's been called both foolish and crazy in the last minute. However, his composure stalls then soon breaks under Sarah's adoring attention and the warrior is soon grinning in return.
-----Though his eyes retain their merriment, Sol both turns serious and somewhat wistful as he replies, "Sarah, we've all heard stories o' dragon hoards, an' I've got t'admit I'd love t'go looking fer one, but we just can't do it now. Firstly we have a couple o' important matters t'clear up first, an' secondly th' creature was probably out fer breakfast. As it was flying, it could be living miles from here so we just can't spare th' time t'search fer it. 'Sides from th' way Raven was looking a'fore the dragon dropped in, we're getting close to our first target." Sol looks at Raven for confirmation of that last statement.
-----Raven walks over and puts a hand on the side of the dragon. Raven says, "Beautiful creature. Evil to the bone, but still an amazing thing."
-----Raven looks at Sarah and smiles, "Aye, I'd like to hunt for this one's treasure. Problem is I can't track the winds." Raven sweeps his arm around 360 degrees, "Where do we look?" Raven motions towards Sol, "Our brave hero is right, our ol' friends are close at hand. Right now their trail is strong, but that can change easily."
-----Raven looks back at the dragon, "Sarah, can a suit of armor be made out these scales? That would be a grand suit to say the least."
-----Sarah looks to Garrison for an answer. "Garrison? You know this part of the world really well, right? If there was a dragon living nearby you'd know where to find its lair, wouldn't you?" There's an almost pleading tone in her voice.
-----Sarah replies to Raven. "An armor made from dragon scales? I've read about such things, there was this guy a long time ago..." she snaps her fingers trying to remember his name from her books. "Etienne or something like that, one of the greatest dragonslayers who ever lived. He wore a suit of armor made from the scales of all the dragons he had slain and it protected him from their breath and claws." She pokes at the dead dragons' scales. "But I haven't a clue how to skin a dragon or even start making normal armor, so that's all the help I can give you...although I would really, really love anyone who could break off a couple dozen scales for me..." Sarah's mind starts racing through all the crazy magical uses for dragon parts.
-----Upon learning that their one-time companions are still around Sarah's eyes grow dark once more. "Well then...perhaps we should continue the hunt after all. But I don't feel good at all about leaving a dragon's treasure lying around for anyone to grab..." She sighs dramatically, thinking of all the great magic that's being lost.
