-----"I can't wait till Krondor gets a chance t'meet ye, Sarah." A grim smile grows on Sol's face, then, "With an attitude like that an' th' power o' yer magic t'back it up, we'll have him yet."
-----Sol then turns back to Raven and says, "Alright...If we're here fer th' day, we may as well set up camp an' a watch. Beleya, you believe that th' tower is unsafe t'use as a vantage point?" The Gorian asks the priestess as he glances at her.
-----A grim Raven nods, "Krondor will pay for his crimes." Raven looks at the grave, but says nothing. Raven's face appears to be made out of stone, showing no emotion. After a moment Raven grabs his bow and says, "Goin' hunting." Raven motions for the wolf to follow and heads out towards the woods.
-----Rinda quickly follows Raven into the woods. As they depart they can hear the sun priestess reply to Sol. "I believe the tower could be trapped still with Merkulus' evil magic," Beleya says, "so the utmost care should be taken."
-----Romney struggles up to his feet with determination in his eyes. "We do not wait any longer than tomorrow," the guard says staring at the covered form in the grave. "Shema was a strong person. She was a devout follower of the Holy Guardian and she would want justice to be swift and brought to those who would do evil. The traitor Krondor has had his freedom too long."
-----Beleya moves over to Romney and gently takes his arm motioning him toward the temple. "Come," she quietly says, "you must rest for now. Your body we can help to heal though your mind remains restless over your loss."
-----Romney offers no resistance and as he is lead away, he looks over his shoulder at Sol. Even though, he appears badly hurt from the morning battle, he tells him, "Call me for my watch, Sol."
-----"I will." Sol replies firmly to Romney. He looks at Sarah, Garrison and Lovan and asks, "So should we clean out th' wizards tower an' keep watch from that vantage point, or wind ourselves down fer th' day? As much as I'm looking forward t'rest, I don't like leaving that mages magics behind. On th' other hand, we may just get roasted again. Sarah, yer th' expert here, what say ye?"
-----"I say let's purify this place." Sarah says. "Even if we have to take the whole tower down. Everyone ready?"
-----She looks to Sol, Garrison and Lovan for their response.
-----"I'm ready. How about th' two o' ye?" Sol looks at Lovan and Garrison.
-----Lovan raises his warhammer in a gesture of approval and Garrison grimly nods. The four mount up and ride toward the hopefully now deserted tower.
-----Within a few moments, they arrive in the grassy area surrounding the tower. Over to one side, painful reminders are seen as to what occurred earlier. The grass in one area is badly scorched from the spellfire launched from the dragon disguised evil wizard.
-----As Sol helps Sarah dismount, Garrison gets down on one knee while notching an arrow to his bow. Lovan jumps down and glares up at the sky.
-----The four then begin striding toward the building where steps are seen leading to the main door which hangs open a bit on its hinges.
-----"A bit of caution?" Garrison asks as he raises his eyebrows at Sol.
-----"Only until we see something that needs struck," Lovan answers grumbling.
-----Reaching the top of the stairs, Sol suddenly motions to everyone to stay back. The young warrior then pushes the slightly opened door. The door creaks open and Sol steps forward with Garrison right behind him.
-----Lovan and Sarah follow right behind and, inside, everyone sees the entrance hall to the tower. The walls are mostly bare except for gruesomely painted symbols adorning the stone walls. Steps curl up along the wall to the right leading to the next level while a ramp on the left side descends to the lower level. A large round table and chairs made of dark wood are the only furnishings here.
-----Even though the day is bright outside, little light filters in from the outside casting everything in black and grayish tones. Torches blaze from four sconces mounted around the room.
-----Suddenly, just as everyone moves farther into the room, all light vanishes and everyone is disoriented by the darkness.
-----"By the gods," Garrison whispers with a tense tone, "what now?"
-----Lovan emits an angry curse.
-----"Hush fer a moment everyone." Sol advises as he strains to listen for any sounds of foul play.
