-----With an extraordinary yell, Rinda suddenly appears behind the monster's head and slams her club home. A scattering sound of bone is heard as she smashes the troll's skull and its body heavily falls to the ground.
-----Romney immediately sets himself to stabbing the foul thing repeatedly, while Rinda quickly rushes to Raven's side to inspect his injured shoulder.
-----Raven gets to his feet and grabs his injured shoulder. Raven gives Rinda a smile, "Your aim is true as usual. Well done." Raven lets Rinda look at the wound.
-----Raven looks over to Sarah, "Do you or Lovan have the power to call forth fire? Otherwise we'll have to start to collect some dry wood and grass and have ourselves a troll roast."
-----The Storm Priest frowns at the fallen troll and his expression matches a spring storm. He shakes his head as if expressing disappointment.
-----Garrison immediately looks for any natural materials to start a fire while glancing back at Sarah.
-----Rinda continues to bind the wound on Raven's shoulder. "This should help, my love," the huntress says quietly, "but you, Romney, and Sol have taken your share of wounds already this day." She glances quickly at the guard from Oakwood.
-----Raven says to Rinda, "Thank you my love." He then starts to collect dry grass and twigs.
-----"I see no need to waste magic on this." Sarah says, as she too begins to gather up branches to start a fire, helping Raven as best as she can. "Rinda, perhaps you can help us by beating that thing with your club until we finish our fire. Just to keep it down."
-----Rinda nods as she quickly turns her attention to the fallen monster. Garrison immediately stops his gathering and draws his battle-axe. With a mighty chop, he separates the troll's head from its body while the huntress commences to pound on the arms that begin to twitch. Lovan also pounds on the monster, slamming his warhammer into the thing's legs with bone-crushing effect.
-----Finally, Raven has a fairly good fire started as Garrison hoists the head and throws it in. With a few more swings, Garrison liberates more body parts that soon meet the fire. With the majority of the troll consumed by the flames, Rinda then turns her attention to a slumping Romney who shows signs of fatigue because of the morning's battles.
-----Raven throws a piece of the troll into the fire. The Hunter says to the group, "Let's head back to see how Sol is doing. Sound okay to everyone?"
-----He turns to Romney, "Do you need any help making it back? You took quite a hit back there."
-----"My thanks to you, no," replies the guard, "I can make it back."
-----With that, everyone departs, leaving the fire to consume the last of the troll.
-----Shortly the band of adventurers returns from their hunt of the troll and rides toward the temple in the village. As they ride toward the small temple, they can see Sol, Beleya and two men standing among some grave markers outside. A large hole has been dug and the four people stand about it quietly.
-----As Romney approaches, he dismounts and strides over to the grave. There he kneels, placing his sword before him on the ground. He then offers up a silent prayer.
-----A somewhat healthier looking Sol waves to the approaching group. Once they are near, the Gorian asks, "How did it go? No troubles?" Sol's eyes dart over his companions, nervously canvassing the group for wounds.
-----Raven nods, "Aye, no troubles. We found the beast, killed it and then burned it in a nice fire. The Hunter lead us right to the beast."
-----Raven pauses as he notices how much better Sol looks, "Looks like they took care of you well while we were gone. We should rest here for a few days. We need to recover from this day filled with pain and sorrow."
-----Raven's reply startles Sol and the young warrior regards the hunter with an odd look. "A few days? Everything else I agree with, but that much extra time is something we just don't have anymore. Krondor knows about us. More importantly than that, our prey seems t'be trying t'play his hands now. As we've seen from Merkulus' work here. I'd recommend heading on now in fact but..." Sol nods his head towards the grieving guard, "Perhaps one night's rest will not give Krondor too much breathing space."
-----Raven thinks for a moment then says, "You make a good point Sol. My concern was that we need to be at our best when we face Krondor. Fine, let's finish this hunt. We'll head out at first light then."
-----Sarah stares at the empty grave with a very sober look on her face. "It was only a matter of time before one of us fell." She says. "Every day we risk our lives, and everyone who rides with us would do well to be aware of that." Sarah's hands clutch her holy symbol. "We're not done hurting Krondor and his people. And I won't sit around while he's not screaming." Sarah's voice becomes a growl as she finishes, and it might be a trick of the light, but her eyes seem to glow with an eldritch fire. "I swear this on an empty grave, for any of us could be next. When we catch Krondor, his death will be slow."
