-----Instead of fighting to stay on his feet, Sol remains on the one knee and fights to remain conscious. Once the young warrior is certain that he isn't going to slip into unconsciousness, he signals to Romney that he is all right, and tries to push himself to his feet and attack Merkulus.
-----The red robed mage quickly clutches a bird feather in his hand and, with a swiftly worded incantation, begins to lift into the air.
-----Raven catches the evil one with a savagely planted sword in the gut. The mage's mouth slacks open and his shocked expression seems to freeze on his face. In the next second, the mage falls to the ground in front of the hunter dead.
-----Back a few yards, the distorted strong form inside the swirling colors of Sarah's spell stands still. Occasionally the strange warrior seems to flinch from the rainbow colors while pieces of the odd armor lie on the ground.
-----Sarah responds, "The man will be free of my spell soon if we don't attack. So everyone surround him and get ready to strike at the same time." Sarah the tactician says, while she looks for the troll. "Did anyone notice where the troll went off to?"
-----Seeing the mage fall, Sol doesn't bother to rise. Instead, he does the opposite and falls back into a sitting position, his eyes staring blankly at the ground as he takes weak, short breaths. After a moment the burnt warrior utters numbly, "What...o' th' monster in...th' tower? Damn...th' troll too...an' someone...deal wi' that one...o'er there." Sol's head twitches ever so slightly in the direction of the man covered by Sarah's spell.
-----Raven rips his sword out of the dead wizard. Raven says to Sol, "Easy friend. Save your strength, Lovan and Rinda will have you racing headlong into danger before you know it." Raven says the last part with a slight smile.
-----Raven then moves quickly towards the strange warrior and gets ready to attack.
-----Despite Raven's urgings to the contrary, Sol struggles to stand up. The Gorian finally manages to do so and laboriously works his legs to follow Sarah's directions in order to help surround the evil one. He then readies himself to attack as soon as the spell ends.
-----"No, Sol," comes Rinda's gentle command behind Sol, "you are not going into battle for a while if I have anything to say about it." The huntress gently stops the Gorian and eases him carefully into a resting position on the ground, trying not to cause any more pain to the burned flesh.
-----With a focused look, the huntress then prays to the great Hunter drawing upon the healing powers to help ease Sol's suffering.
-----As Raven, Garrison and Lovan rush to surround the captive form in Sarah's spell, Sol can see the sun worshipping priest rise from Shema's fallen form. Romney stands nearby and listens as the priest whispers to him. The guard then stands with a resolute expression and salutes Shema lying on the ground. A fierce look comes over Romney as he turns to accompany the other warriors.
-----Sarah looks somehow radiant and ominous at the same time as the young mage stands surrounded by a field of swirling stars. A single multi-colored disk continues to circle her body while around her head flies a halo of flapping owls.
-----Romney quickly takes up his position in also surrounding the tumult of rainbow swirls. Suddenly the spell ends revealing the gross hideousness of the foul individual that had worn armor covering its features. There among the warriors stands a strong man-like form though the features are ugly and distorted. The muscles bulge but not in any way that would be appealing and envied. The features on one half of the face appear as if they are decaying or melting from the rest of the head. In the middle of the face are two small black eyes that radiate nothing but evil.
-----It is at Romney that the individual leers and, quickly gripping its flail, lunges at the guard. With a swoop, the weapon misses Romney while the guard stabs the foul warrior with his long sword. Lovan's warhammer strikes solidly against the left shoulder of the foe while Garrison's battleaxe cleaves through the skin of the right arm.
-----As Romney steps back, Raven seems to leap in from nowhere slashing with both blades. The twin short swords rip across the torso of the gross enemy soaking its shirt with dark blood.
-----Hurt but recovering from the attack, the evil warrior glares at Raven with his black eyes. It grits its teeth in anger and lifts its flail.
-----Raven snarls at the monster, "You recover quick don't ya? That's good, that means more pain for you." With that Raven leaps in closer to the monster and tries to ram both swords into its chest.
-----"Thank ye Rinda." Sol offers gratefully as he makes use of the fact that he feels less pain than he did before and forces himself up to his feet. Gritting his teeth, Sol pointedly ignores the flaring pain that that action causes. The Gorian then glances once at Shema's body and then moves to take advantage of any available strikes on the foul flail wielder.
