-----"Look you," the other cloaked man says to the Dread Pirate, "you are coming up a road leading from Navlot. We've heard of a lot of trouble from that way. If you won't tell us who you are, we can arrest you and take you to the constable so you can answer his questions."
-----Both men show no sign of backing down.
-----The Dread Pirate nods in apparent agreement, "Yes, by all means arrest away. Of course you'll have to catch me first." The Dread Pirate then begins trotting at a slant, obviously intending to run around the two men and into town.
-----"Why you little . . . ," the angrier man yells at the Dread Pirate. He then moves to try to cut him off but the Pirate keeps just a few steps ahead of him.
-----The other man glances at the other rogues and then turns. He appears to be in the beginning stages of yelling a word of alarm down the village road when Seth makes his move. The man suddenly hears a feminine voice scream, "How dare you hold up my party!" Turning, he sees what appears to be the Lord Wizard's Daughter in a gold larme low cut evening dress.
-----After a quick motion of hands and a sprinkling of sand, both men suddenly collapse to the ground. 'The Lady in Gold' then commences to search both men lying sprawled on the water soaked ground. Quickly two pouches are liberated from the two sleeping men.
-----Just before the rogues begin to stride down the rain-drenched road farther into the village, voices are heard. Someone is heard to be coming their way from the village.
-----The Dread Pirate, seeing the now slumbering guards, quickly runs back and politely waits until Seth is finished looting from them. Dread then gathers the two longswords from the men and chucks the blades deeply into the woods. He then turns and, drawing one of his throwing knives, calmly sets about slicing the bootlaces of the two men. Not content with that, after being thwarted by the pair of guards, Dread sets about carefully slicing the pants of the two guards at the waist, so that they won't stay up. Then content with a job well done and vengeance being properly wreaked, Dread turns to join the others.
-----As the rogues finish their 'farewells' to the guards in the pouring rain, a small procession emerges from the dimly lit buildings of the village. Four young men trudge along carrying a large canopied sedan chair. They are flanked on their left side by a warrior riding a large dark stallion. One servant leads the progression holding aloft a lantern while another one holds a similar light source behind the carriers.
-----As the Dread Pirate joins the others, the procession is suddenly called to a halt by a strong feminine voice. The curtains appear to part on the canopy of the sedan chair and someone within converses with the warrior on horseback. The warrior is seen to nod his head and the curtains close.
-----The horse rider turns his steed toward the rogues and rides up to them. The man has a muscular countenance wearing chain mail under his cloak and a silvered helm upon his head. With squinting piercing eyes, he looks at the rogues through the dismal haze of rain. In a commanding voice, he states, "MiLady Mitan would like to know what you are doing here?"
-----Rocking back and forth on his heels, angrily squelching in the deepening mud, the Dread Pirate begins to wonder if they will ever, in fact, make it to the nearest inn. Donning a look of long suffering patience, Dread tersely responds, "We're getting rained on." Without another glance, Dread continues stumping down the road, looking for an inn or tavern.
-----The warrior merely watches the waterlogged halfling walk off. He then turns back to see what Kazel, Seth and Marast do and makes no movement that would be taken as hostile.
-----Marast glares at the man and then spits on the ground. "Stupid human," the elf says as he walks after the Dread Pirate.
-----As Gimplefwick strides past the carriers with their hoisted sedan chair, the curtains part and something flies out landing in the soft soil in front of the Dread Pirate's feet. It appears to be a small pouch and a soft chinking sound as if from coins is heard as it lands.
-----"Interested in doing some work?" comes the strong feminine voice from the interior of the canopied chair.
-----The Dread Pirate squints at the small pouch lying in the mud, he then waves loftily at Marast to pick it up. Peering into the open sedan, the Dread Pirate says, "Aye, I'm always interested in a bit o' work and ye just bought yerself a listener. But ye should know that our last employer was Lord Lambert himself, who paid us three hundred gold apiece. We do the job, in our own particular style and method, but we don't come cheap."
-----The Dread Pirate then edges closer to the sedan and clasps ahold of the opening, as he attempts to haul himself inside, he says, "Now maybe we can find a more sheltered area fer discussin yer job and our fee. Maybe one where me associates can get in out of the rain."
