-----A small foot suddenly shoots out kicking the halfling pirate's fingers off the edge of the sedan. The Dread Pirate lands on his feet though he splashes in the middle of a large water puddle.
-----"Take the enticement I have given you and find a room for you and your friends," the feminine voice says from the darkness of the sedan, "I recommend the Quarry's Inn. My man shall contact you in the next day to see if you are interested."
-----With that, the voice commands, "Off!" and her carriers begin striding away from the scene. The warrior turns from the rogues and catches up to the procession. Soon they all fade into the darkness heading for other buildings.
-----Seth eyes the pouch of gold and then turns to watch as the sedan chair trundles off. "Well, you all know how I feel about the wagon, but the chance of a bath, well let's hope we can do this job quickly and get on after the wagon."
-----Kazel tugs at Marast. "Keep looking for the wagon, then meet us back at the inn." She waves him off, and then hurries after the procession before it disappears in the rain, putting on her ring to better stalk it.
-----The Dread Pirate nods as Kazel slips on her ring, saying, "Don't walk on the road, ye'll leave muddy footprints and make splashing noises. Walk on the grass at the edge of the road."
-----Kazel stalks unseen as she makes her way close to some of the buildings near the middle of the village. At least one good purpose of the stormy weather, the roar of the rain helps to hide the butcher.
-----As Kazel peers around the corner of a two story house, she sees that a few buildings down is a larger place that can only be an inn. The establishment looks very elegant especially for a small village as this.
-----Soon she sees the procession come into sight and walk up the stone steps into the front room of the inn still carrying the sedan chair.
-----Kazel first checks the sign to see if this is the Quarry's Inn. She sees a sign, but it features a picture of an elegant couple strolling along a forest path.
-----Hiding to one side and quickly cleaning off her boots, she then waits for the chance to see if she can squeeze in behind the procession as they enter the inn. Finally spotting her chance, she begins to move.
-----As Kazel sneaks up the front steps, she can see inside the front room through the huge panes of glass on the front porch.
-----There she sees a front desk with at least two men standing behind it. Just beside it is a stairway leading up to the upper rooms. The sedan chair is positioned on the floor just in front of the stairs. The four carriers who manned the sedan chair stand patiently and then carefully pick up the sedan chair. They slowly start back for the front door.
-----Ducking behind a big potted plant, she hides on the porch and keeps her eyes on the sedan chair the whole time. The servants carry the chair down the front steps and around back where perhaps a stables and storage building are located.
-----Kazel determines that the carriers are hefting a lighter load. The warrior that was with the procession is also not in sight. It's possible whoever was in the chair has already gone up the stairs.
-----Kazel dashes back down the front steps and examines the side of the building. The inn is constructed of strong wood beams with the spaces filled in with wattle and daub. It is obvious that this building has been well maintained and repaired when needed.
-----Kazel steps up and grabs onto an exposed vertical beam. She then swings her legs up to stand on a horizontal beam that was about chest high when she stood on the ground. Hugging the building, the dampness from the weather has made it a challenge to hold on here.
-----She grabs onto another beam and attempts to swing up higher when she suddenly loses her grip. Kazel lands on her feet and looks up at the windows above her as the rain continues coming down.
-----Just then a hand is at her shoulder and as the butcher swings around, she looks into the face of Marast. The elf quickly tells her, "Marast see wagon in stable. Krord there to guard. Brandel, Runik and girl in room here."
-----The wood elf sweeps water from his brow as he watches the buildings and shadows around them.
-----"Oh, now that means we'd better check in then," Kazel says to Marast. "Come along," she indicates to the elf as she now goes around to the entrance and asks at the front hall where she might find a room occupied with a girl, a man, and a dwarf.
-----The two young men at the desk are surprisingly friendly, especially for the two who stand before them totally drenched by the rain. "Ah, yes," one of the men answers Kazel, "I remember them quite well. They came in this very eve and wanted to secure lodging as one of them was in dire need of rest. Here, let me escort you."
