-----Howling like a crazed berserker and waving his cutlass in the air, Gimplefwick charges his foes, fully intent on either scaring the daylights out of them or splitting them both in twain. As he approaches, he yells to his approaching comrades, "Don’t ye be bringin yer horses over here, the ground be trapped with caltrops." He then returns to his bloodthirsty recreation. The decorative candles in the Dread Pirate's beard fly madly about as he charges the obviously rum-crazed mutineers.
-----An animalistic sound much like a small dog barking and yapping is heard overhead in the trees. With that, the two creatures that face the charging Dread Pirate turn tail and run toward the trees at the back of the clearing. Behind Gimplefwick, two of the small humanoids in the caltrop field try to desperately crawl away.
-----Raven glances at Rinda and gives her a smile. He then turns back to face the last creature. Shifting his gaze so it is behind the creature, he gives a wolf-like grin. The small creature’s eyes grow large and with the distraction, it looks around. Succeeding with his effort, Raven leaps in to finish it off. With a quick slash of his two swords, he quickly kills the small creature before it can flee.
-----Sol continues to guide Thunder through the trees, eyes continually searching for the nearest horned creature. He looks a little irritable as he goes about his business. Two more of the nasty little creatures remain close by the trees. They quickly dash and run under a mound of branches and fallen trees where they hide out of sight.
-----Sarah moves Marlexana towards one of the trees. She pauses to bind all four of the sleeping creatures.
-----Seth continues to move up leading the two horses. When he comes up to where the sleeping 'Evil Ones' lay, he checks Sarah's bindings. When he is finished, he continues moving forward.
-----"Ohhh..." Kazel’s takes on a sour look at her missed shot. Jumping off the horse, she lands lightly on the ground, then steadies herself and notches another arrow onto her new bow, aiming more carefully this time at the creatures in the caltrop field. She again loosens two arrows that miss their marks. However, it serves to frighten the creatures as they begin to frantically crawl faster.
-----Raven puts away his swords and readies his bow. Raven says to Rinda, "Strange little demons aren't they? Better keep a look out for any more. They like to attack from the trees also." Raven begins to scan the area to see if any of the creatures are in bow range. The wolf stays at Raven’s side sniffing the air and occasionally emitting a low growl.
-----Rinda immediately lowers her club and grabs her bow. She notches another arrow and dropping to one knee, she scans the branches spanning overhead.
-----Raven and Seth carefully examine some of the dead bodies of the creatures. They find nothing of interest on the small ones except for their crude spears and wicker shields.
-----Slowing down for a moment, Gimplefwick eyes the pile of trees and underbrush concealing the two escaped foes. Not really wishing to chase them into a possible trap, he sheathes his cutlass and begins rummaging through his pack. In a few moments he emerges with a flask of oil, flint and steel. He quickly pries the top of the oil flask off and commences tossing it liberally on the brush pile.
-----When the flask is empty, for some reason he looks uneasily at his flint and steel and yells to Kazel, "Hey, lassy. Would ye be doin me a favor and lightin this brush fer me. A couple of the little buggers ran in here and I don't want to go in after 'em. Or leave 'em here fer the next unfortunates that pass by. And fer reasons I'd rather not go into, I can't be around open flames right now. Bad things might happen if'n I am. I'll take care o' those two in the caltrops if you'll take care of the fire." Gimplefwick gestures his flint and steel at Kazel while he draws his sling and prepares to start firing at the two lamed demons crawling away.
-----Kazel answers, "But cap'n, how're we going to put out the plains fire, or is that part of your plan?"
-----Gimplefwick eyes the pile of dead trees and brush that the tiny demons had run into and replies to Kazel, "Perhaps the fire won't spread beyond this pile of deadwood. We can all keep a close eye on it anywise and stamp out any sparks that go flyin about. If'n it does spread beyond control, then it’s part of the grand cycle of nature and will end up bein fer the best in the long run. Arr, just think of it as a really big campfire." He then coughs somewhat ostentatiously.
-----An avid gleam enters the Dread Pirate's eyes and he almost hops up and down as he surveys the hiding place of the hidden opponents. He urges the flint and steel on Kazel, "I just hope that they aren't hidden in tunnels underneath there. It'd take forever to dig 'em out o' there. I'd hate to bury their treasure underneath a pile of flamin timber."
-----Raven runs over, being careful not to step on anything sharp, to Gimplefwick and simply says, "No fire Dread." Raven eyes the flint and steel in Gimplefwick's hands, "Put 'em away. I won't stand by and watch you harm the children of forest just so you can get a few more copper." Raven pauses to see what Dread does.
