-----The Dread Pirate scowls at the impertinent ranger, "Arrr, no fire, eh? What do you propose to do about the ones that escaped into that brush pile, then? Do ye think they'll be any good fer the children of the forest? Or the next passersby that might not be so well prepared or equipped as we are? What if the next folk that happen by be innocent women and children? Now, I might fit in there after them, but I'm willin to bet that nobody else will. And if we knew there were just the two of 'em in there, I'd go after 'em. But who can say whether there be fifty or more 'em in there and their den trapped five ways to next week? I'm hearin ya say 'no fire', but I don't hear ya sayin any other alternatives to go along with it. And I'm not leavin those filthy ambushin mutineers in there to waylay the next group that happens by. If ye have a better suggestion, I'm willin to hear it and follow it, if it be better than mine own." Gimplefwick begins gathering up his thrown daggers and placing them back in his vest as he waits for Raven to expound a new plan. He also keeps a careful eye on the two little demons crawling through the caltrop field. Seeing that they’ve almost cleared it, the Dread Pirate draws his ‘cutlass’ and runs to cut them off. Their evil ends with painful yelps as they fall victim to Gimplefwick.
-----Sol dismounts and walks towards Raven and the Dread Pirate, "I'm inclined to believe there is some sort of tunnel system. Seth scared one that was hiding in the trees, and it went down a large hole in the tree itself. Maybe between us, we could move the deadwood aside...see if we can find us any of those tunnels. Then make our decision whether to burn them out or not."
-----Sol thinks for a moment longer then adds, "On the other hand, and my preference, is that we get to Olv now. We're not far, and when we get there, I'll make sure word is passed onto the troop that patrols this area. Normally I'd be overjoyed to take out these pests personally, but we have bigger fish to catch. And we're on time constraints."
-----Kazel glumly collects her arrows and the free caltrops on the ground when she perks up at Sol's suggestion. "Why yes, that sounds much better already." Between looking around at the scurrying critters, she paces around and looks restless and eager to move on.
-----Sarah watches all of the conversation with a somewhat confused look on her face. "Err...guys? Did it ever occur to you to find out what these things are and what they're doing here?" Looking around she sees no one had. "No? Okay, just checking."
-----Sarah stays with the four she put to sleep, she has them rounded up and all tied together with their backs to each other so if they ever wake up it will be difficult for them to walk. Since everyone else is off investigating the dead wood Sarah is mostly talking to herself.
-----"Their eyes." Sarah reaches down and forces one of their eyes open, watching as the pupil immediately shrinks down to a very small size. "Definitely not meant for the surface. What commands their attention so that they come up here?" Sarah looks over their bodies for any marks or tattoos or anything that would unify these creatures. "What were they after? Why did they attack?" Sarah looks back towards the group and realizes it was Gimplefwick who they first encountered. "Nevermind. He's not the best ambassador is he? Hmmm....." Sarah continues to think about the situation, conversing emphatically with Chessie the whole while.
-----Seth walks over to the Dread pirate and hands the lead to his horse to him and whispers something in his ear. He then mounts up and waits for the others to head off.
-----Gimplefwick glances at Kazel wandering about picking up his caltrops off the forest floor, "Errrmmm, thank ye fer picking up me caltrops there, Kazel. I'll just go over here and round up all me daggers then." The Dread Pirate hurriedly runs about snatching up all his throwing knives before anyone else can. He also pauses to stab each one of the little demons in the back while doing so.
-----As the Dread Pirate continues his collecting process, he yells over his shoulder, "Aye now, we can go to Olv. That be a fair plan. I'm just not much in favor of leavin dens of evil behind me. As far as that goes, there is one other option. I have on meself an item that will shrink a couple of ye down, so that ye can accompany me into the tunnels. I hesitate to mention it, who can say but it might be even handier somewhere down the line on this little jaunt. It be a potion, so it’s a one time thing, we cant be usin it again if we need it fer some reason."
-----The Dread Pirate then squinches his eyes almost shut and glares at Sarah, "Fer yer information, I was not the 'ambassador' to these wretched things. Yer friend Raven and his entourage were the first to meet our little friends here. What conspired from that meeting ye can see fer yerself. I just concerned meself with helpin him out, though he didn't seem much to need it. I suppose ye'd have had high tea with the little blighters and commenced a meaningful dialogue while they were busy tryin to skewer ye and yer little owl too."
