-----The Dread Pirate looks scornfully at the bound and sleeping demons on the forest floor. "Good luck with those. I wish ye great joy of each other's company." Gimplefwick finishes picking up his daggers, obviously thinking that Sarah and the little demonic beings deserved each other.
-----Raven just glances back at Sarah and says nothing. Raven says, "Let’s see if we can move that log and get to their tunnel system. Dread is right about needing to see how many are here." Raven looks at the hot headed Pirate, "I'd rather not burn first and ask questions later. A fire might bring people or other creatures here and that could make this situation worse."
-----Raven says to Sol, "Where's this tunnel by that dead tree?"
-----Kazel holds up a caltrop and squints at it as if seeing it for the first time. "And here I figured caltrops were part of the trap. But right here's the blood stain from that muscle woman." She cups her chin and seems to stare into space for a moment, before shaking it off and handing the caltrops back. "Thar's yer booty back, Dread Pirate. Never mind me."
-----As she clears the field of caltrops, Kazel stops by the crawling creatures. Taking out her long sword, she plunges it between the shoulder blades of each, one after another in an almost nonchalant fashion. She then strides over to the dead logs and bushes covering the tunnel and gives it a few random stabs in case anything is behind it.
-----"Well then, let's move this heap out of the way already," she says as she begins to lift the logs all by herself, or at least try to.
-----After picking up his daggers and carping back at Sarah, the Dread Pirate happily takes back his caltrops and reattaches the bag to his belt. "Ahhh, Kazel, ye'll always be me first true love, but I'm afraid it just wasn't meant to be." The Dread Pirate cups his hand around his mouth and stage whispers quite loudly, "I think our friend Sarah over there has designs upon me. Poor girl, it's not her fault, I can understand why she can't resist me." The diminutive pirate then stick his thumbs in his belt and saunters over to look at the shield that was stuck in the tree, apparently now finding the shield more interesting than arguing about what to do with the tiny demons.
-----Kazel rolls her eyes with a helpless smile. "Hey, you never know. At least you're not a 'half-breed' as she so eloquently put it back there. Maybe that's why she spared those demons too." She shrugs and returns her attention to discovering what, if anything, is under the logs.
-----As Raven, Kazel, and Sol move to uncover what is beneath the deadfall, Rinda continues to watch the trees for any sign of the small ones’ return. Gimplefwick stands by the tree with the shield attached to it. Seth stands nearby holding the bridles of the two horses.
-----The Dread Pirate commences to climb the tree but somehow he fails to gain a good foothold. The bark seems slippery and there are no low branches to climb on. After a few moments, the Dread Pirate stops almost out of breath. As he and Seth walk around the tree, they do spy a very frayed rope attached to the shield and leading to the branches of another tree. This was a branch one of the small humanoids was standing on.
-----Meanwhile, enough of the dead branches have been moved aside and Sol, Raven and Kazel see a small tunnel, barely three feet in diameter, leading underground. An old smell of mold and, strangely, a wet dog smell seems to flow out of the hole. Raven’s wolf sniffs and growls at the dark opening.
-----Sol frowns at the group, "Ok, ease up everyone. Let's all try'n focus on the issue at hand, wi'out all the barbed comments." His eyes turn to the tunnel opening doubtfully. "A tiny tunnel is not what I wanted to find, but what I expected I suppose." He says with a sigh, "I admit I don't much like the sound of that potion, Dread. Sounds a bit dodgy. We could try smoking the bastards out. As fer the critters themselves, they've either scampered so far that they ain't coming back any time soon, or they're getting their mates. I still reckon' we should head onto Olv. Unless ye all wanna wait awhile and see if any more show up." With that, Sol heads over to one of the bodies, and wipes his sword clean on the leather. He then slides the blade back into its sheath on his back.
-----Seth nods in agreement with Sol. "After examining their cultural markings and design, it is my opinion that these red devils would not have any art or collections of value. In fact I doubt if their 'horde of treasure' if they so much as had one would be nothing more than beetle shells and bits of worm. If everyone is ready we should be away to Olv."
-----Raven crouches down and looks down the tunnel, "I still say that Dread is right about needing to take care of these creatures. It is pretty clear that if we had been a local checking out that flash of light, they would of killed 'em." Raven looks back to the group, "I'd like to destroy their lair. It won't be easy, but I feel it is the right thing to do. Besides crawling on our hands and knees for a bit won't kill ya."
