-----"Let me see it a moment," Sarah replies and she takes the gemstone and wraps her fingers around it. Frowning, the young mage tests the weight of it in her hand. Slowly shaking her head, she finally says, "No, I can't be for certain but I don't think it has magic."
-----Sarah then hands the gemstone back to Sol and, raising the lantern, leads Sol and anyone else who wants to accompany them into the bedroom.
-----There they find a wood frame bed with the mattress of straw ripped and thrown about. A chest that once must have been at the foot of the bed is overturned and the few items of clothing scattered. As for furniture there appears to be nothing else of interest in the room.
-----Sol looks around the wrecked bedroom and shakes his head. He then moves over the overturned chest and turns it back upright and then proceeds to have a look at any contents inside and on the floor. "Looks like we're not finding anything here." He calls back to the main room.
-----Romney frowns as he looks around at the mess caused by the vandalizing. "I don't like this," he says thinking out loud. "The attack earlier and now this happens. These men hold a dead body outside and yet I don't know if this village has the means to deal with this."
-----Garrison pulls Mirian behind him and walks up close to Raven. "What do you think?" the woodsman asks, "Chances are whoever did this is long gone and we probably need to get everyone out of here." Garrison leans his head in the dancer's direction. He then asks, "Should we head back to the tavern or to the inn?"
-----Sol nods at Garrison's words, but waits for Raven to say his word.
-----Just then Lovan enters through the front door. The storm priest grunts as he looks around at the mess. "Didn't keep up his place much," he mutters. Lovan then looks at Sol and Raven with a strange firm expression. "Do you think he was a worshipper?" he asks drawing a grin from Garrison. Romney simply closes his eyes stifling a frustrated curse.
-----"Raven revealed that th' same bastard who killed Frederik was responsible fer this mess too." Sol informs Lovan before looking back at the hunter.
-----Raven looks at Rinda and then at Sol. Raising an eyebrow he says lowly, "So the hunters become the hunted?" Shaking his head, the ranger continues more firmly, "Two options I see here. We go on the defensive and lock ourselves away for the night or . . ." Here Raven scans the dark beyond the windows before adding, "we set a trap for whoever is after Mirian or that rock."
-----Garrison narrows his eyes while Romney looks for a reaction from Sol. "I say bring the Rager's Fury on the bastard!" Lovan says as a fire seems to take his eyes.
-----"As long as we're not using bait I'm okay with a trap." Sarah says guardedly. "I think Mirian is out in the open enough without us setting her up."
-----"I agree." Sol intones as he looks around at the group. Settling his gaze on Raven, the warrior continues, "I was going t'suggest heading back t'th' inn, an' more or less keeping vigil fer th' night. However if ye've got a good plan, I'd be more'n happy t'hear it."
-----"No, no need to put anyone in danger," Raven replies, "Maybe Mirian can stay in Sarah's room while we keep an eye on Mirian's room. We could light a candle for part of the night."
-----Raven's thoughts seem to turn inward as he adds, "Too bad we don't have time to make some kind of decoy."
-----"If you want to do that," Rinda's voice softly breaks in, "I could dress in Mirian's clothes and see if we catch our prey."
-----Raven frowns as he looks at the huntress. "No," he says simply, "I said no one should be put in danger."
-----Rinda crosses her arms and seems to scowl though she remains quiet.
-----"What if it was me?" Sarah says thoughtfully. "Mirian could sleep in my room, I know a very simple spell that can make me look a lot like her..." She shrugs. "And you guys can watch over me discreetly from somewhere nearby...I think that would work out pretty well." She glances around trying to see what the rest of the group thinks.
-----Raven shakes his head. "I still don't like it," the hunter says, "Whoever's been stalking us is good. I don't want to give them a direct shot if the worse happens. That's why I suggested a decoy, but not a living person."
-----"Well, let's head back t'th' inn now. We'll then decide whether t'use a decoy or put Raven in a dress." Sol grins at the hunter and looks back and forth between Raven and Sarah, as if comparing sizes.
-----Raven smiles at Sol's joke, "I won't ask what made you think of that." Raven nods, "Let's head back and see to setting our trap."
-----Sol takes a moment to clear his head with a shake to regain composure. "I'll just have a word wi' Roderun's man." Sol mentions before heading back out the front.
-----Once there, the Gorian asks the fellow if once he's finished at Frederik's place, he could convey the group's apology to Lord Howrun for not returning to the feast.
