-----"Nasty ugly things." Sarah mutters. Normally she would be all for not hurting animals....but once they get slime on her only traveling dress there is no mercy. Standing with her arms crossed, she watches as Sol and the others converge on the last toad, not really seeing the need to get too close to it herself.
-----Sol slips the great blade into the creature's side wounding it badly. A bit of ooze begins spilling from the cut.
-----Suddenly the tongue wrapped around Rinda's middle tenses and the huntress is drawn closer to the gaping mouth. With a startled cry, Rinda rebounds off the toad's nose avoiding a tumble into the toad's gullet.
-----Very quickly Raven is there and he delivers two fast slashes to the beast. Sol also weighs in with one more thrust and the toad is soon dead with its guts staining the stone floor.
-----"Damned hop toads!" Garrison yells, suddenly repulsed by the sticky tongue he frees himself from. The woodsman then kicks at the dead creature at his feet before looking across at the others.
-----Raven is busy unwinding the toad's tongue from the huntress.
-----Garrison holds the torch he dropped aloft and from the light can be seen three openings that provide exit from this chamber to farther inside the ruins. One is in the west wall while two are in the southern wall.
-----Whilst the sticky appendages are taken off by the various sufferers, Sol levels a critical gaze at the dead hoppers. Once everyone is ready, he nods his head in the direction of the western wall's opening and without further ado, he heads off that way, moving like someone who would like to get this done quickly.
-----Sarah moves too, but hangs back of Sol more than she normally would, not in a hurry to get more slime on herself.
-----Raven helps Rinda free herself from the toad's tongue. "Damn nasty things." Raven holds up a hand to Sol, "Just a minute, I want to do a quick search. Maybe I can find clues if there is anything else down here." Raven begins to scan the room.
-----The hunter immediately searches the floor especially close to the openings to other places in the ruins.
-----Raven's wolf quickly acts, somewhat imitating his master, scanning the floor but with his nose low to the floor. After a few moments, the wolf begins to growl lowly. The more the wolf searches the floor, the more the growls increase.
-----No light is revealed beyond the openings and so far no sound is heard.
-----Raven lets out a low whistle as he looks at some tracks. Raven mutters, "Damn..." Raven then looks over to the party, "I'd say there are at least six 15 feet long lizards roaming this area. They were here just a little while ago." Raven walks towards the western opening and then looks back to the group, "I say we clean this place out so these monsters can't hurt any of the locals or travelers passing by. What say the group?"
-----"Sounds good to me. The less carnivorous amphibians in the world the better." Sarah mutters.
-----"Monsters, Raven? Are ye sure that's what they are? I'm all fer taking down unnatural creatures an' all, or defending ourselves from being eaten by a man eater, but a big lizard sounds like another animal living a natural life t'me. I can understand th' worry about passers by, perhaps we could mark the area as dangerous?" Sol replies, obviously not sure what he should consider the right thing to do here.
-----Garrison smiles and says, "Those durn hop toads weren't holding back. They gave us quite a fight. I'd hate to see what they would do to a smaller group."
-----Rinda pauses and considers everyone's words carefully. She then looks at Sol and says, "I see the wisdom in your words, Sol. I would want to see how these lizards act. If they are preying on the people here, they should be hunted."
-----The huntress then ponders something on her mind. An expression covers her face as if she is thinking intently. She then looks at Raven and says, "I wonder why these lizards have chosen this place? Is it because of a food source, or has something driven them to hide here?"
-----"If what we've been told is true, then th' latter is more likely I guess. If th' swamps have been infested wi' actual monsters, then that could ha' driven them up here. Alright, as Rinda said, let's find out why they're here..." Once more Sol starts to head down the western exit.
-----Like normal, Sarah has a thousand different thoughts on the issue, and like normal, the rest of the group comes to a consensus on what they think together before she can even do so individually. Shrugging, she just does the normal thing and follows Sol.
-----Raven frowns, "I'd call a 15 foot lizard a monster. Not evil, but a monster all the same. We'll hunt these lizards down and then it will up to the Hunter who will be the victor. I'll let others decide the morality of it all." Raven moves forward, "I better take point. I'll be checking for tracks once in while and it will better if I was in front."
